Pros: It is sharp with every focal length and aperture, very light and very small, a real multipurpose pancake. It works well with my Z30's autofocus, so I imagine even better with higher cameras. Stabilization not up to that of a sensor but good, to the eye 3-4 stops guarantees them, it's not bad. It is a very rare example of decent optics offered in kit form.

Cons: No tropicalization, plastic graft. The mechanical activation click is inconvenient. Not very bright even in relation to the maximum aperture of 3.5, but it could be my personal feeling.

Opinion: Excellent added value with the kit offer since it costs almost 400 euros by purchasing it separately, and in fact it is an excellent lens unlike 90% of the lenses supplied in the bundle. He is not superlative in any respect but he does well (almost) everything that is required of him and it is not little. The sharpness is always good, the communication with the camera ditto, it is really compact and very light constituting a winning combination with camera cameras like my Z30, put everything in the pocket of the jacket and go to take photos around without too much banging with the weight and with satisfactory results. The stabilization is not excellent but this is quite normal, it allows, by feeling, 3-4 stops instead of the 5-6 that IDIS sensors usually guarantee, but I would say that it is okay. The two defects, one objective and the other perhaps dependent on my "eye", are the lens release mechanism, cumbersome and which on some occasions affects the possibility of capturing the moment, and the low light in relation to the aperture. In my experience, I understand that sometimes some lenses give less light than you would expect from the aperture value and this could be one of them. In any case, I have the impression that this lens does not digest situations below at least a decent brightness. Which is normal for a 3.5-6.3 multifocal, of course, but in this case it seems to me that it is also below average, let's say. However, overall it is a really good object and especially if coupled with an APSC sensor it covers an ideal focal range for 90% of scenarios and with an image quality that is certainly satisfying for the amateur, even the advanced. A small plasticky and light-loving all-rounder but brilliant if put in the right conditions.

Pros: Sharp at all focal lengths, lightweight, compact (fits in a jeans pocket)

Cons: Too bad it's "only" a 16-50, so-so stabilizer

Opinion: For my amateur use it is excellent: portability, lightness and compactness. It fits comfortably in a trouser pocket or jacket and with the nikon z50 it is a featherweight. Fast focusing on Z50; A sore point you can see a little bit of the micro blur, but for my use it is more than perfect. I would recommend it for amateur and therefore non-professional use.

Pros: Sharpness, lightness and quick response of the motor for autofocus

Cons: dimly lit, less effective than expected in VR

Opinion: I've had the Zfc for a year. I'm excited about it, and a big part of my enthusiasm for the machine is its standard 16-50 zoom. The step up from the Sony A6000 that I've kept for a few years (with not much satisfaction) is impressive. The zoom has optical quality in the best Nikon tradition; It is lightweight, versatile, and easy to use; It has a more than good color response and excellent b/w contrast. The vignetting at the minimum focal length is decent - it needs to be corrected in post-production - but in line with expectations. The two things I liked the least are the stabilization that I expected to be better: at 1/8 there is nothing to do: you can see the blur! And then the look (and the feeling in the hand) of being a little too "plasticky". But that's okay: the Zfc + zoomino set are ideal to keep in my bag at all times. So much so that I'm seriously thinking of ditching the F-mount (with the D750 and part of its mountain of lenses - I have to keep them a bit for analog bodies) and switching to the Z-mount even if the whole thing will cost an arm and a leg...

Pros: Sharpness at any aperture and focal length, lightness

Cons: Stabilizer can be improved, opening click

Opinion: It is a lens that can not be missing in a Nikon Z DX kit. It's very sharp already at TA, I never had problems shooting at maximum aperture during the last trip to Madrid (in my gallery there are some photos taken with Z30 + 16-50 also at TA). It loses a thread at the corners when compared, for example, with the other kit lens (full frame), the 24-70 F4, but nothing catastrophic... the 16-50 Sony OSS that I had before on A6100 did much worse, even in the center of the image... overall it doesn't make me think at all to leave the Z6 at home with the 24-70. As for stabilization, I was fine shooting with a time limit of 1/25, maybe I could go down a little more, but I didn't want to risk ... surely I would not have approached the 0.8 seconds that allows me the Ricoh GRIII ... but it is compensated by an excellent ISO seal of Nikon's APSCs. The only real "flaw" is the inconvenience of the shot when opening. For the cost it has, especially in kit, combined with quality and lightness, it is a lens to have without a doubt in the kit.

Pros: all, sharpness and very good at all focal lengths

Cons: the brightness, but the VR i ISO compensate very well for this lack

Opinion: I bought it yesterday together with the kit Z-fc + 16/50 and 50/250. I was impressed because I did not expect such good sharpness. I often use the 14/24 f 2.8 so d 700 and I must say that this lens does not make me regret anything. And what about lightness? the kit of the Z-fc I took precisely for this reason. hello to all Angelo

Pros: Very sharp at all focal lengths, lightweight, compact, very effective VR (4.5 EV)

Cons: Collapsible opening, f./6.3 from 40mm onwards

Opinion: A little jewel purchased used for my Nikon Z50 at an amazing price. It goes perfectly with the Z50, of which it is an ideal complement: light, compact, very sharp on all focal lengths, with an excellent stabilizer that does not regret the lack of IBIS on the body of the Z50. With the 50-250Z composes the ideal kit for the new Nikon ML APS-C and does not disfigure in front of more noble lenses that weigh 5 times as much and cost 10 times more. Built in sturdy plastic, from an impression of solidity and quality, the zoom is smooth and the AF very fast and silent. Sturdy plastic bayonet is not a problem for me. The only flaws are the low brightness at the longest focal lengths, but well compensated by the stabilizer, and the small shot to extend the barrel that makes you lose those 2 seconds that could prevent you from seizing a particular moment. Overall a well-designed and excellent kit lens in every respect. Vote, taking into account the many positive elements: 9.5

Pros: Sharpness, lightness, size.

Cons: maximum opening.

Opinion: Incredibly sharp at all focal lengths, superb at 50mm. despite the limited maximum aperture, detail at 50mm. like the best optics of Casa (guys I shot at a spider hanging from the drying rack putting myself at the minimum distance allowed, enlarging the shot you can see the hairs on the paws). Very smart: small and fast in focusing. If it had been a 16-80 instead of 16-50 it would not have been "a goal" but "The Goal".

P.S. for those who denigrate non-metal attacks: first inquire about the type of plastic that is used, I point out that even on the Apollo Spacecraft and on the Shuttle there are plastic parts, just a brief search on the Internet to the Patents of some of these to change your mind.

Pros: sharpness, compactness, stabilization

Cons: max limited aperture, collapsible opening, plastic

Opinion: overall, a gem... optical rendering of all respect for a handy and light pancake. its limited size makes it an excellent choice for a "road" kit. too bad for the strong feeling of plasticity, and for the initial shot necessary that could make you miss the moment. anyway, a great lens!

Pros: Optical rendering, lightness, AF

Cons: All plastic, brightness

Opinion: It is a lens in my opinion exceptional, because it combines an extreme compactness with an excellent optical yield, superior to the various kits around. The only thing that pays off is brightness. I didn't test, sharpness or anything, I just used it and it never betrayed me. The AF is good, the stabilizer is excellent, it makes up for the lack of the one on the body very well. It makes the z50 very compact and if I have to say together with the 50-250 it makes it a best-buy at the expense of the shortcomings it has compared to other competitors. Therefore it is an indispensable lens for the APS-C and that does not find equal in other brands.

Pros: Optical quality, lightness

Cons: Aperture, aesthetic

Opinion: If all KIT lenses were like this the KIT lenses would not be so mistreated. Very very good optical quality, lightweight and built well despite being plastic. Obviously the opening of the diaphragm does not go crazy, but for day photos we say that everything is compensated by the homogeneity of its yield. In conclusion, a very good KIT lens, if you do not need bright optics to begin with does everything you have to do and more. Ah, let's also say that it is not beautiful to see when open, but I mean, we can overlook this topic. :)

Pros: A featherweight I can take pictures on the street among people and they almost do not notice ... I feel invisible

Cons: nothing

Opinion: I state that I am not an expert and my opinion is from such. I needed a small and light lens to take on a trip to places of worship among people without giving too much in the eye ... and surprise also does its beautiful job. Yes, there are the most valuable ones but for my level as a photographer it is enough for me and advances. Believe me it is just a nice functional object. Greetings

Pros: Most beautiful silver version, sharpness from TA, focusing distance

Cons: Collapsible, you lose time to open it, lack of hood.

Opinion: But you remember the old 16-85.. sharp every now and then and never at TA.. this much reviled 16-50 , a little shorter as canvases but weighs a third, is sharper, VR works better, has half or almost half of lenses inside, that is, less absorption, less flare, so same brightness on the practical side. You can use it at TA.. nn will make the blurry of dreams but you should not close them to f8/11 like the old 16-85. That was not bad, mind you. But this outclasses him. Of course, f6.3 at only 50mm makes an impression but with the old one at 6.3 you found photos kneaded. At least these are sharp. And the 20 cm of minimum focus is a gem. Then if a 17-55 f2.8 with Z attack arrives, this one retires but I have the doubt that it will not arrive so soon and at less than 2000 €.

Pros: Crisp, light, stabilized

Cons: All plastic attachment including... maybe even the glasses?

Opinion: For a first approach to the system it can be more than good... but then you feel the need to want much more... also given the high quality of the sensor and processor of the z50... and a good optics but nothing to do with competition professor lenses! (especially Fuji) I hope Nikon soon gets to market at least two fixed and two zoom opening f2.8... I believe a lot in this ml system! And Nikon is doing great projects!!!

Pros: Lightness, quality, footprint

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: Caught in kit with the Z50 churns out raw not bad. It is very light and adapts very well to the compactness of the z50, they form a beautiful pair. I use it as many times as I want to be light and take home a more than decent shot. I highly recommend it to those like me who walk with the car around their neck its weight is not felt at all and the space it occupies is really derisory. I am very satisfied

Pros: Lightness, optical quality, price, size, stabilizer .

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: It is common for a cheap lens to be paired in a camera kit, with diaphragms that are not open, plastic..... but I'll hold this tight!! A pancake weighing just over 100 grams useful for travel and street, with an excellent stabilizer. For video-goer, zooming is fast and quiet. My modest opinion as a photography enthusiast is to recommend it! It also makes sense to have it with a mirrorles to let the z50 into a purse or pocket.
