Pros: Sharpness, construction, colors

Cons: weight

Opinion: It's absolutely a professional lens. Excellent clarity even at full opening. It's a tank. Impressive feeling of solidity and robustness. I also really like blurry is the color rendering. I sold it because I switched to another system and especially to a mirrorless one. Despite a 2003 target, its validity is timeless. very good! It is clear that it is not a feather but this must be put in the account.

Pros: Colors, macro contrast, construction

Cons: Light, weight.

Opinion: I've been using it for a year now on Nikon d7100 and I feel I can make a judgment. I took it used at 500 degrees in my opinion an acceptable figure, new, at the current state of the photo market, it is not worth it. Let's get to the target. The focus for my needs is perfect as everything to do, you quickly move from the landscape to the street to the portrait in the blink of an eye. The focus is quite close and also allows you to create good closed ups or tight portraits. By comparison the 50 F1.8g that I had and sold I preferred the tight portraits this as it will be the 5mm more but the distortions that you notice using a 50 to make a face with this are very small, of course better a long focal but in extremes is fine too. Constructively and how much better you can ask but the price to pay is the heaviness, on average reflex you balance well but already on the d7100 a little unbalances forward. The thing I like the most? that as the focus changes, the focus does not change.... it will be trivial but in most economic goals this happens and I hate it... The distortions at 17mm in my opinion are very small. Autofocus quick and silent on accuracy I have to say that I have a problem, I do fine calibration but every now and then, after a little use I will stand and have to retard it. maybe it's a defect of the lens or the machine but I may have bought (used) a lens with this defect but at the moment I can't give an explanation. The sharpness according to many is not the best, but for me it is great and I use it on a machine very dense of pixels, certainly the Tokina 11-20 and the macro sigma 105 when I enlarge hold better but sincerely all this scarcity that you read around I do not find it... obvious that at 2.8 and 55mm a little loses but in my opinion always in an acceptable way. The only sore note is the lampshade... It will definitely be functional but it is as long as half the goal, for me too big so much that I often use it without.

Pros: Macrocontrast, sharpness, AF, construction, colors

Cons: A little bit of AC, it costs a kidney, weight

Opinion: This is along with the Canon 70-200 2.8 The best zoom lens ever had, it makes the Nikon DX sensor excellent. It Has a very capillary yield, warm colors, all the features of what you resume have repercussions with an unusual sharpness and three-dimensionality for a zoom. Who says that at 2.8 is soft broke it or Starato, is well sharp and contrasted, keeping a good reading shadows, reaches the peak at 5.6, is fine even in landscaping. Heavy, over 800g, Comrie is built a tank, however every time I see what I strive to convince me to leave it on the nozzle. The AF is never wrong, only thing a bit ' of purple AC, in post take off with a click. If you can afford it is to buy.

Pros: The 24-70 f 2.8 as it should have been

Cons: Price to the new

Opinion: Stunning lens, one wonders why Nikon has made a professional APS-C zoom as well, and the 24-70 Plasticaccia. It is really egregia, starting from the construction, to go to the optical quality, and to conclude with the speed of the AF. It's big, all metal, with a plastic lens hood but really well built. Definitely the best APS-C zoom on the market. The stabilizer is absent, so it is a matter to consider. Obligatory purchase for professionals who use Nikon APS-C (maybe on d500 where it generates a stunning coupled especially as AF speed in the dark), but also for advanced amateurs who want to stay in reduced format. Priced at around €600, it's a must-buy.

Pros: A real Nikon pro at the old. Af. Interesting used if really in good condition not above the 550 euros.

Cons: Dated, lack of stabilizer, price of the new today.

Opinion: I've had this gorgeous optics for a few years on D200 and D300. I think it's fair to pay tribute. Nothing to say. Colors, saturation, contrasts, depth, backlight, typically in the best Nikon tradition. Crystal clear. Fast and high performance AF. The valid Sigma 17-50 2.8 which I also tested for good, simply disappears at the comparison but costs around 250 euros new. Built like a tank, in DX and in zone of war, crawling in the mud at night under the tracers wielding a D500, I would still like him also to use it as improper weapon to the must and I think-but I am not sure-that should be able to solve the sensor. However it suffers from time. Not so much because it is big, imposing and heavy but because it does not have the stabilizer, the distortion is there all even if today it goes to place with a click in zero time. In the years of the Admirals in DX its price seemed more than justified, stabilizer aside, for someone could still be today. Great lens also from portrait, with a blurry to TA that has nothing to envy to its full frame counterparts. Today – Personal opinion – I preferred him the new 16-80 2.8/4. Maybe even a better thread sharpness at the edges, focal length "all do" certainly more comfortable, finally the nanocrystals and the last generation stabilizer have revived my old D300 that I will keep until I can use it only as a door stop. Sure it's plastic, stracosta, it's not weather sealed like the 17-55 but it's much more compact and lighter. With the D500 around, if they made an updated version of the 17-55 maybe 16-58 always 2.8 and built with tank tropicalized, with the latest generation VR around 1500 euros, could make sense. The full format now for me is without mirror, but who had DX-level bodies with a discreet kit of optics, maybe a thought could also make us.

Pros: Sharp, accurate and fast AF, beautiful colors, solid construction, f 2.8 constant, deep black, soft blur.

Cons: Important but compensated by quality, flare but difficult to trigger that I personally do not suffer, if it was tropicalized it would have no defects, I'm so glad I did not mention the cost.

Opinion: I have this optic for over a year, I've also tried sigma 17-50 f2.8 which I gave for despair, here I feel serene, every shot has a potential, colors that you do not find in other basic optics, has a fast and accurate AF even a pursuit, as everyone suffers the change of depth, blacks make the difference and the smile using this optic is perpetual. It is not tropicalized and stabilized. Its soft and pleasant blur, from the landscape to the portrait to the night, I judge it a stupendous optic from which I could not separate.

Pros: Sharpness at TA; Precise AF; Color rendering; exceptional hold in backlighting..zero flare (I underline that it has no fluorite lenses or anti-reflection treatment).

Cons: Price? (diepende, I do not use it in a professional way ... if I used it ... with rain or something else I would say that the price would be adequate)

Opinion: I have owned it for about 3 years; I made about 2500 shots; I mount it on D7100; even with fast moving subjects do not miss a shot (goes into difficulty, but not always, with subjects in strong approach, or removal, with the direction coinciding with the shooting). The color rendering is excellent and the weight I would say is not a problem, indeed, on the D7100 increases already the size for a more secure grip (advice cmq BG on the machine). I do not feel the need for VR for my photographic needs (mainly people on the move ... so I'm always at 1/200 -1/250 to avoid camera shake). I took it as a replacement for the sigma 18-50 f2.8 HSM EX-DC ... incomparable.

Pros: Sharpness at TA, color rendering, construction and materials. Distance focusing. f2.8 constant aperture throughout the zoom span.

Cons: Weight and really big footprint. AF is not always fast and sometimes not accurate, zoom range, perhaps a bit 'limited. Price Absurd. chromatic aberration visible in apertures. No VR.

Opinion: Recently bought, used, out of curiosity, driven by the rave reviews I read a bit 'everywhere. I mount on the D7100. The heavy feeling is immediate and not if it goes longer. The wide angle side is almost a 18 and does not solve the need for a true wide angle. On the other side the 55mm is a bit 'short and does not solve the need to also have a canvas. I do not call it a real all-rounder with a lens on DX but its specific functions. Portraits settled, views not driven, some first floor. Too bulky for reportage and street. The optical quality is unquestionable, very clear already at TA. Returns faithful images and well balanced. The blur is pleasant, but on the economic level fixed 1.8, no more. AF precise and responsive but with good light, feels however some problems with light "difficult" and it has some difficulty hooking or focus on unwanted points. Very beautiful the focus distance which allows use almost Macro (but is not amacro). Overall it is a good objective, professional, solid, but older, less versatile, crisp but not to scream, heavy, priced out of the market, in my opinion. The lack of VR is really serious in a lens of this segment, in my opinion, for this would not have bought. Forces to stay in at the expense of the ISO safety times, especially indoors where is it a useless lens without the flash. I think they can do without, and with this money really buy a lot of better things and more in line with the times. Also possessing 16-85 VR, I thought I could replace with this, and keep only one glass, knowing losing 30mm on the side canvases. But in the end I guess I hold 16-85 that is sharp and in addition has the same VR, is also lighter and it's really a handyman to how I photograph. perhaps buying wrong of me, even if we see that the lens is quality and keeps some promises, type structure and materials. But for me it is very sopravvalutato.

Pros: Sharpness, accurate and fast AF, construction, weather sealed

Cons: Lack stabilization (though not required)

Opinion: Gorgeous, the feeling of strength that the touch is very rewarding, I use it on my D7200 and MAF has never wrong even in extreme lighting conditions, I have owned other optical deemed "similar" (Tamron, Sigma and also the Tokina 16 -50) but no holding the confronto.rnQualcuno lamente overweight, from my point of view holding hand on the zoom ring on the camera is very well balanced

Pros: Material quality and excellent yield

Cons: A little weight, however, justified by the material used. Obviously if used for long walks you will be felt. The price ? Indeed dear!

Opinion: For me the TOP of Nikon DX. I mount on my D7000 and I never disappoint. Personally I bought it new on Amazon because I do not trust a lot of used, especially for these lenses. For those who plan to go to FF maybe a good used would be fine. I personally believe that moving to this format does not fall in my projects, and have optical quality of DX is enough for me ...... maybe be combined in the future with the D500 !!! The lens though dated as construction, issues of quality photos. I'm just a fan, but I like to have the material at the Top, so I recommend it to those who think like me. Unfortunately, the cost of the new does not come down !!!

Pros: Yield, overall quality, perfect ... only

Cons: No ... but maybe the cost you pay for

Opinion: Having a reflex of the latest design and not have this is like owning a Ferrari and tire applications supermarket! A mistake not to have purchased before. I think that the financial sacrifice is amply repaid by the result! Objective balanced by color rendering and sharpness unmatched, excellent lens hood is good tropicalization. Nikon warranty

Pros: Robustness, construction, brightness.

Cons: nobody

Opinion: The lens demonstrates its quality, use with the Nikon D80, and despite the limitations of the SLR get photos that give me a lot of satisfaction, aim for a top DX. Honestly and for almost a year that I use and does its job very well, if I have to sell it only to go to the format FF .The advice to those who want the top of Nikon DX-format.

Pros: Quality 'materials, AF, sharpness, brightness', rings, potre write until tomorrow!

Cons: hood, price.

Opinion: As soon as I put this lens on my D 7200 and I realized that 'the best I have in the backpack, and if I thought before I avoided buying four more goals, they can now rest a lot' of time I will not write technical skills but I wanted to give my opinion only to advise him because I believe that, without exaggeration is the best even across the range Nikon subqueste openings, quite fast and silent AF a real picture and sharper colors faithful, the right openings to satisfy several needs shooting, and 'a little' dated but knows his stuff! Old horse knows the right track! Only a little weight can 'disturb but if you accept returns with lovely photos .rnCONSIGLIATISSIMO! I must have!

Pros: Constant aperture of f / 2.8, robustness and build quality, optical quality, clarity of the shots, well-built lens hood

Cons: By contrast I would say only the fact that the excursion of the focal not totally internal, but the last part of lens extends a few centimeters

Opinion: It 'was my best buy in these years of fotografia.rnLa mount on D7000 and is perfectly balanced. Has an optical quality exciting especially at full aperture (f / 2.8) and on all focal lengths from 17 to 55.rnL'escursione 17-55 on DX is great for the 90% of my photographic style, it is more than good for any situation even in interni.rnLa construction, as you can expect from a lens of this level (professional), it is impeccable, solid, reassuring. Now I ask myself the trouble of having to take two droplets of water, or handle with excessive precaution the machine during fotografie.rnE 'really a tank! RnVolete it safe and spend once and for all ?? rnFidatevi ... go on a 17-55 Nikon

Pros: Robustness, eternal, images returned, only lens can withstand the density of modern sensors

Cons: The price, but in line with the quality and construction technique, DX format

Opinion: As per tradition, I write my opinion at the end of its use and the transition to the big brother of the lens, or 24 - 70.rnScattavo with d7000 and immediately bought a 17-55 sigma, perfect outstanding but the pictures that I returned discerning and then ... and then came this lente.rnImmagini returned incredible, always used with great satisfaction, a marvel! rn

Pros: brightness, strength, color rendering, af lightning.

Cons: lens right (but not a problem).

Opinion: E 'was love at first scatto.rnNon wonder not at the price when I see the frames that can creare.rnGia very sharp at TA and diaframmando becomes really exciting, the autofocus is very fast even in low luminosità.rnUnica note tune (if it can be considered a flaw) is that you buy an optical dx, but, in my opinion, if you do not want to go imminently fx, the council vivamente.rnAh forgot .... you are shopping a tank! ;-) Rnrn
