Pros: Covers all 'straight' wideangle applications, sharpness, 77mm filters, resistance to flare, fair distortion that is easy to correct.

Cons: Consumer grade plastics and build, price - possibly.

Opinion: Covers all lenses between (35mm eqv) of 15mm to 36mm, with reasonable distortion: 3.1% barrel at 10mm, easily correctable and no wavy 'moustache' type, so is suitable for architecture. Sharpness commendable wide open and excellent between f5 and f11. Very soft at f22, though. Great to use polarisers with, for the landscaper, easy to standardise with 77mm filters. Initially purchased Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 but that was a dud, so was the shop's entire stock, so that put me off and am very glad I went for the Nikon and have used it as my most used lens for past 18 months. No real signs of wear, yet. Build quality is a bit better than the average consumer Nikon zoom but not up to pro models. Great to use in the field and is reassuring to handle. For the night-time shots I do so much, more speed and brightness would be welcomed but it is used most at 10mm, anyway, so not always a real problem. If you are Nikon and want the best option for the currently widest non-fisheye lens for cropped DX, that can accept front filters - only the Sigma 8-16mm is wider, then this is it. My score 9/10

Pros: Beautiful rendering | compact | allows very suggestive shots|

Cons: New price | Difficult to master for a neophyte

Opinion: Bought new many years ago, to take on a trip, it has given me a lot of satisfaction, but also a lot of headaches and disappointments. Not because it is not an excellent lens, at least for my judgment, but because in my opinion it is a lens that is not very permissive for the less experienced. Given the enormous angle of view, you have to master framing and exposure wisely so as not to waste the shot. It's a lens I've often made mistakes with, but when I've managed to tame it, it's always given me great satisfaction. Having used it today, for those who continue to use Nikon DX and love to photograph landscapes, it may definitely be worth it. I don't know what the 3rd party optics offer, but this 10-24, as long as you are in the right hands, can be defended very well.

Pros: Excellent lens, very sharp even at full aperture with a slight drop at the edges. No flare

Cons: the price at launch. Now in the second-hand it is affordable. A bit plasticky.

Opinion: Taken on occasion directly from Japan. I was planning to buy the Tokina 11-16 but having tried it I was disappointed by the strong presence of flare. This optic, on the contrary, has an excellent resistance to flare as well as an excellent resolution even at the edges, having the foresight to close at least one stop. On the other hand, there are few (and very expensive) lenses of these focal lengths that do not show decay at the edges. Light and easy to handle, it is easy to carry around. Slight distortions and aberrations are easily corrected in post production. The lack of VR at these focal lengths is not felt while the AF is fast and accurate. A lens that I recommend for those who love panoramic and landscape photos.

Pros: Wide range of focal and visual, light and small enough

Cons: Price of the new, untropicalized, loses at the edges

Opinion: Taken used by a user (at the new price is really high), I have been using it for about 2 years with satisfaction for my "world at 10 mm", while reaching those 24 mm in apcs that help on some occasion. It has the advantage of being small and light and can easily stay in the backpack. Screw filters can be used. It's not tropicalized, but it protects itself easily. It obviously has noticeful deformations at 10 mm if not in bubble, but this can be directly checked at the time of shooting, or in post production. At the limit it can become fun if you look for exaggeration. The starting diaphragm at 3.5 is not quite the best and at the edges it loses in sharpness. There are new third-party models but I've never had the chance to compare them.

Pros: Great shooting angle ratio, brightness and weight excellent colors

Cons: ... maybe the price but you know the nikon optics the nice ones even if DX doesn't cost cheap

Opinion: I've been using it for 8 years on D3200,D7000,D7200 and now on Z50 with FTZ I still find it a great optics, for interiors, landscapes, reportage and especially for travel. I have read bad reviews about this optics, sincerely I feel great, I often use it for Work without problems. The files can work very well. In the wedding services it is a great everything to do, and also in the video. Mine has a metal bayonet, maybe it looks a bit plastic but I've been working on it for 8 years and it's okay it doesn't lose the pieces like other third-party optics or cheaper nikon models. The price for some is high but it is not an entry level, for me it is more for a Pro market than for the Consumer market. Just get to know it and it will always be in your bag.

Pros: Shooting angle, lightness, no flare, minimum focus distance colors

Cons: it's not sharp on very dense sensors. It's not cheap.

Opinion: With the D300 I made some amazing x-views. In the city you can get us to stay inside all monuments churches no problem. Flare virtually non-existent. It is also used well x do street even if it does not go unnoticed. It distorts (as it could not) is noticeable especially if not in bubble in the most pushed focals. At very close distances, cute caricatures are made. It has no vr , (never needed) mine has no plastic attack and ... on d810 covers the entire sensor from 15 to 24 but its sensor does not forgive and you see the limits on sharpness .

Pros: Better than equivalent competitors

Cons: It costs too much for what it's worth

Opinion: Of this lens I did a review on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax0f1OP6Xq4 Surely as quality exceeds competitors Tokina or Tamron to make an example, but it costs much more and has problems of chromatic aberration and of course distortion due to the very pushed focus. Its resolve is low and spectacular shots are made. A lens that as quality is definitely superior is the 12-24. If you find it used at a good price then it's worth it!

Pros: Good color yield and versatility

Cons: The sharpness is not exciting. Price

Opinion: Purchased about 6 months ago is a pleasant lens to use. Good focal excursion equivalent to a 16-36 that allows ample use and the diaphragm (f: 3.5-4,5) is acceptable as brightness (unfortunately it is not stabilized). Great color yield. Weaknesses are sharpness (poor especially at the edges) and distortion (high) to the 10 mm focal and close values. It definitely improves with the longer focal points, I would say great at 24 mm. For those who love the landscape photo and the pushed wide-angle can be disappointing while I find it great for street and interior photos. It is worth if purchased on occasion, I do not find adequate the cost to new. Comment updated on 1/23/2020

Pros: Good angle, lightweight, VR undockable by D500

Cons: Maybe the plastic attack

Opinion: I received it today, tried quickly on Panorama from the balcony in the middle of a forest, disagree on the fact that it is kneaded and soft at the edges, I find it a good lens to travel to panoramas, on interiors maybe distorts a bit, but the 14-24 is unapproachable and on DX would give me a 2 1-36 While I was looking for a zommettino and not that it cost a kidney. Satisfied with the purchase, of course not nital hello

Pros: Good angle, for the photos inside is pretty good

Cons: The corners are too soft, on the views unwatchable, too expensive

Opinion: I used it with my d500 and if it was used for interiors it was acceptable but on the views it looked like a piece of glass, all kneaded. The corners are too soft and I had to do crop often, I thought it was a problem of mine and I brought it to the Nikon and after 2 weeks I have given it back but nothing has changed. I think it's not worth the expense, too expensive for what it offers.

Pros: excellent resolution at all focal lengths, the Flare is not good maneuverability and focal range.

Cons: A bit 'plasticky

Opinion: Taken seeds of new opportunity and by the shots that I have done I am very satisfied, now I was sorry for not taking the 12-24 (say more professional), but then I changed my mind .The counsel to the largest is a viewpoint that behaves very good, light and well built for the DX machines is a great obiettivo.rnLa definition at all focal diaphragm 5.6 / 8 and fantastic, and then to the superlative center distorts a 10mm ligtroom hair but with just a click and it is all fine, does not disappoint !!!!! rn

Pros: In my opinion excellent lens, low distortion and beautiful colors

Cons: I can not use the FF

Opinion: I have not tried other wide-angle zoom, so I can not make comparisons, but the d5000 at the same focal length with 18,105 kits a difference and 'embarrassing especially regarding colors and nitidezza.rnNei historical centers of our cities and' a marvel before I was even "cornered", now and always grafted on 5000! rnEd being light in trekking and 'a real blessing! rnPeccato that the d700 is virtually unusable ...

Pros: Excellent quality, resistance to flare, light weight, 10mm, ability filters

Cons: Can not be used in fx

Opinion: Use the wide angle a lot, I really like the view it gives. I have tried many but as quality, sharpness, flare resistance I find this superior to concorrenza.Mi sorry to leave it to go where I will meet with optical fx much heavier (and more expensive) .rnrnQualità satisfactory constructive, useful to be able to mount the filters by 77.rnrn

Pros: Build quality on top, flare resistance, distortion at short focal contained, fast focus, little chromatic aberration at the edges, chromatic balanced

Cons: high price compared to the competition but justified by the performance, little light at room temperature, one more stop in enough.

Opinion: I needed a wide angle lens for traveling and visiting palaces and museums and I compared three similar lenses: Nikkor 10-24 vs Sigma 10-20 vs Tamron 10-24. What struck me most was the lack of distortion and tonal balance. It 'a lens that you have to study it and understand how you have to set the camera correctly (in the bubble!) When dealing with vertical lines in architecture. Be creative generi.rnDevo yet to try the other night photos, I do not know how it can most beautiful reagire.rnIl recent purchase! Strongly recommended for wide scenic views. Fabio.

Pros: Angle up for the DX format. Good sharpness for the class. Minimum focusing distance of very low, and permits close up very nice. Mechanically flawless with AF very precise and quick.

Cons: Unfortunately hard to find in used .... those who have it if you keep it! :-)

Opinion: I was long fascinated by extreme wide-angle lenses and tried Tokina and Sigma of friends rimanendone thoroughly impressed, I must say, however, that as soon as I tested this point I did not hesitate and bought it. The yield is 24 to 10mm as very good and the extension of focal lengths can also use it on the road as the only optical. The lack of VR is obviously irrelevant considering the focal lengths, while a bit 'more brightness would be appreciated. Find extremely interesting its ability to focus at about 20 cm with a reproduction ratio of 1:5.
