Pros: Very light, excellent kit version with few optical errors and beautiful optical performance, optimized for 40MP sensors.

Cons: No objections to make.

Opinion: Now I have also tried the small Fuji 16-50WR, but some quick comparisons with the Fuji 16-55WR / Fuji 23 2.8 became a bit tiring at first, there are no differences too big, just maybe with a very extreme magnification you can perhaps see some differences. So the zoom is great for a kit version. There is no drop in performance at any focal length, even the mechanics are perfect fluid beautiful, so I can not confirm certain tests and criticisms on this lens, perhaps problem specimens or AF which is very frequent on the Fujifilm system. The construction is not metal, it doesn't bother me, it's extremely light just like the new Fuji 23 2.8, Fujifilm has done a very convincing job. Note: a very compact lightweight Fuji telephoto lens modern line 50-150mm f4.0 with macro function would be nice, and I think this is an extremely lacking lack in the system so as to complement in pair various focal lengths with new Fuji 16-50/16-55 MKII zooms. For me recommended the Fuji 16-50WR for small Fujifilm camera bodies where you don't need a lens with a lot of brightness, example landscape photography very recommended.

Pros: Lightweight, significantly sharper and more contrasted images than its predecessors, useful focal range over the entire range.

Cons: Not stabilized, plasticky (but on the other hand it is light), rather dark at high focal lengths.

Opinion: Hard to say anything different from previous reviews... I'll try. I got it for two months new out-of-bundle at 490, I looked around but I didn't find a better offer. The list price of over 700 in my opinion is not worth it. Among the many Fuji zoom lenses and compatible with similar focal lengths, the most sensible comparison is with the 18-55 that it replaces in the Fujifilm catalog. I'm using it a lot with an excellent XT20 unfortunately without OIS; it is said that it was born for the 40MP of the XT50 with which it is sold in a bundle, but even on the 24MP of the XT20 the difference in sharpness with the 18-55 is not a small thing, and not only in the center but also at the edges of the frame; images with greater micro-detail and also sharper and more highlighted lines (buildings, architecture, etc.), sometimes a bit 'hard' so detailed it is. So much so that often in PP I have to slightly reduce the contrast, which I don't do with the other lenses. The colors are vivid and faithful as from Fujifilm, compared to the 18-55 perhaps a little more flare but nothing compared to the 15-45 (which costs a third). The real shame is that for 70 grams less, 240 against 310, compared to the 18-55 it loses stabilization, what did it take to put it? There is even on the 15/45 which costs and weighs very little. Did they remove it to induce the purchase of stabilized models? Also this 16-50 is fairly cheap to build. Being also a bit dark at 50mm (4.8 against 4.0 to 55 of the other) without a tripod the danger of micro-blur is there and you often have to raise the ISO even in broad daylight. In short, pros and cons but if what matters most are the images, this 16-50 objectively takes better photos than the 18-55, the 15-45 (of course) and beats it with the 10/24 F4 which remains one of the best X-mount zooms ever. But for my use (landscapes, architecture) the 16-50 focal length is more usable and in fact while deprecating the absence of OIS and owning these other 3 lenses that have it, lately I use almost only it. I recommend it without reservation only if paid new from 500 downwards otherwise it is better to look elsewhere. I gave him 9 because there is no 8.5. PS Rereading myself maybe I was too strict but I couldn't try it at its best on machines with OIS and more megapixels, that is from the X-S10 upwards.

Pros: Compact and light, solid, tropicalized, very good performance, it does not stretch when zoomed in.

Cons: Continuous diaphragm ring that can be easily touched unintentionally

Opinion: I have owned this zoom for about 4 months, bought used. Its compactness and low weight are immediately evident. The construction is good and gives an idea of solidity. Positive is the fact that it does not lengthen with the zoom and that it is tropicalized. It is not a super bright prime zoom. The f2.8, the maximum aperture, is preserved only at the wide-angle end. At 16.5 he already closes a hair at f2.9. At 18 mm it closes to f3.0, at 24 mm f3.4, at 35 mm we are already at f3.9, at 40 mm f4.3 and at 50 mm we arrive at f4.8. Nothing dramatic, knowing their behavior. For daytime photography or in non-dark conditions it performs well. The performance, in my opinion, is good on the entire excursion, even at bright apertures. Used on the road, it proved to be very versatile and as mentioned comfortable and practical to carry around due to weight and size. If you want for general excursions, he alone could be enough for the range of excursions covered. However, it also has some negative points, for example it happens to me to involuntarily move the ring of diaphragms which is continuous, without wanting or realizing it, because I find it quite smooth. This sometimes led me to disable it and use a dial on the camera body. Perhaps the unintentional operation also depends on its small size, because this problem did not occur to me with larger zooms with a ring of the same type. Mark

Pros: Image quality even at 40MP, lightness and bulk, AF, 2 mm less wide-angle side (16) than the old one, build quality, WR, 58mm filter like many other Fuji lenses (23, 33, etc.)

Cons: Maybe the price if you take it not in kit: but the optics are really good.

Opinion: It is the classic travel zoom or excursion equivalent of a 24-75 on FF: therefore an all-rounder. Lightweight (240 grams), compact (the barrel does not lengthen by changing focal length), well built, water resistant, it has an image quality capable of easily withstanding 40 MP, where the previous 18-55 now suffered a bit. If you don't need the fixed 2.8, this is the right lens for your needs. The AF is fast and accurate; the very detailed image on the 40 sensor also allows for rather generous crops; Decent flare resistance. A lens without any particular weaknesses, as pointed out by "Lenstip" (trusted site) and also the test of Juza himself. The advice is to take it in a kit, or mismatched from a kit, because it costs much less. One final note: the 58 filter is the same as many other Fuji lenses (23 1.4, 33 1.4, etc.): which is a convenience and cost advantage.

Pros: Image quality, lightness, construction, magnification, autofocus, size

Cons: Price, if taken new. The internal zoom could be closed by a front lens (perhaps)

Opinion: It is the perfect travel and trekking lens for those looking for practicality without sacrificing quality. It covers all useful focal lengths from true wide-angle to mid-telephoto, and thanks to the digital crop on the 40MP of the X-T50 it virtually reaches a 24-105 equivalent, maintaining more than decent files. Sharp, compact, well-built and weather resistant, it also allows excellent close-ups without the need for a dedicated macro lens. It's not a forum zoom or pixel peeper, but it's the one that really makes you leave the house with only one lens and zero regrets. The only two "flaws" are a new price that could discourage you, but there are so many used ones separated from kits and then a suggestion: perhaps the internal zoom (very smart in my opinion), could have been covered by a front lens and avoid dust infiltration. WR will also be seeing it like this, but it doesn't really give me maximum confidence. In any case, a (not so much) kit zoom, really well made.

Pros: Overall quality, internal zoom, weight, focal range, compactness, wr

Cons: Soft edges at some apertures and focal lengths but all in all acceptable with some workaround (crop, etc.)

Opinion: Bought on dayone free from a kit at € 499 for jumping from x-t30 II to x-t5 and to be sure to have a lens that could decently solve the 40mpx without spending a fortune. Price/Optimal performance although it is not a "PRO" lens I would not worry about using it in professional contexts, especially if used at intermediate apertures where it does not look bad even against double-cost lenses. It can satisfy even pixelppers if we neglect some edge behaviors at certain apertures but it is an acceptable compromise for the figure and the lens of use. I use it mainly for street together with the Fuji XF 27mm 2.8 II WR and I am satisfied with it.

Pros: Compact. Light. Internal zoom. Tropicalized. Excellent on 40 mp. Focal length 16. Etcetc

Cons: Brightness for low-light photos. Price if not in kit.

Opinion: Bought used great deal replacing the old and famous 18 55 ex kit intrigued by the 16mm and the optimization for the 40mp perfect for the xt5 with which I use it. I was really surprised. It's a really good all-rounder zoom. Stra convenient for compactness and size as well as internal zoom. It is also waterproof. It is not stabilized but the new Fujis are stabilized in the camera body. Exceptional optical performance in my opinion at all focal lengths and in the range f3.5 - f9. Also tried backlight at sea, I found neither flare nor particular aberrations. Instead, I appreciated excellent exposure, excellent colors, excellent sharpness. In short, very beautiful and satisfactory photos. I recommend it, you have fun, especially when you want to travel light, for street, reporting and, in my opinion, also landscape given the wide angle at 16.....

Pros: compact and high-performance

Cons: slightly soft at the extreme edges in the wide-angle position

Opinion: light, tropicalized, you can also do macro not extreme, for now it's fine and I'm satisfied; the price alone is exaggerated but taken in a kit it is reduced a lot; excellent travel companion to stay light in the mountains, I paired it with the XS20 and with a few other lenses I have a perfect combo during tiring mountain excursions thanks also to the Sirui AT 125 tripod

Pros: Light, compact, tropicalized, sharp in all focal lengths and excellent behavior even at the edges.

Cons: Price maybe a bit high.

Opinion: As a former owner of both the 18-55 and also the 16-55 f.2.8, with the limits of sharpness at the edges of the 18-55 and the weight and dimensions of the 16-55 f.2.8, this XF 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 R LM WR has finally arrived. I state that I use it on XH-1, the performance is excellent on all focal lengths, for someone I will "shoot" it big, but from what little I have had to see how it is equal to the XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR. The old 18-55 I would say without any doubt outclassed in everything by this new zoom. If for your needs you don't need to have F.2.8 on all focal lengths, I venture to say that this XF 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 R LM WR will not make you regret the XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR. The only sore point is the price, perhaps a little too high.
