Pros: quality, size and weight

Cons: maybe a bit of noise

Opinion: Taken exchanging it with Lumix LX100 I needed something compact, quality with interchangeable optics if necessary I use it for souvenir photos when I go out on a motorcycle and occasionally for street or urban landscape, to always have it behind. for this I coupled to 18mm and I am fine, perhaps files a less noisy wire would have been better, which I notice using fuji recipes since they are often with high iso, shooting at low iso I did not notice major problems

Pros: Beautiful and elegant, natural colors and rich in nuances, excellent definition for a 16mp, good electronic viewfinder although not very wide, convenient distribution of controls, good dynamic range especially in RAW where you extract many shades of gray, good built-in flash, feather weight, automatic screen/EVF passage very fast (much better than on the XT20), low price even from new.

Cons: Unreliable autofocus in non-optimal light conditions. Ready just 8 seconds after ignition. The different profiles that can be stored sometimes with shutdown are lost. Non-touch LCD screen, so much i don't need it, and not tiltable, and this would be useful instead. Feather weight yes but it is 90% plastic, ignition pulses worthy of a toy. It's not made for videos.

Opinion: This review is based on the comparison with the XT20: until December 2020 I had it but incidentally I ruined the sensor and had to replace it. In a shop in Trieste I took a new X-E2S inventory at 360eu. The only 16mp versus 24mp of the XT20 is fine: better dynamic range and hold at high ISOs, I saw it right away. The difference in microdefinance on the computer is not seen, and for an APS-C 24mp sensor there are perhaps too many. My impressions but this X-E2S has a chromatic scale a more precise thread than the XT20 (e.g. in foliage and clouds), snapping in Provia with saturation +1. Slightly more natural images even if the detail is necessarily inferior, but as already mentioned this is not seen. What is just wrong is autofocus, subject to frequent blocks if the subject is not well contrasted or illuminated. Shooting in the evening or to say on the snow must be done by manual otherwise it can become a nightmare. I only take photographs and the poor video performance of the X-E2S for me is money saved, but those who care about the videos will do well to look elsewhere. It is not a super-demanding machine, also because it is rather slow in all its functions - dated processor - and also of economic construction. From its has, under the right conditions, excellent image quality in both RAW and JPEG, as well as numerous configurable parameters, including the famous film simulations plus other toy camera or psychedelia or fog etc. maybe useless but cmq there are. Given the wide availability of X- attack optics with an excellent q/p ratio, those who want to start photographing seriously spending little can be happy and happy. Among other things, it will spend less than with other brands also for spare batteries, grips, etc. Fujifilm has always focused on the q/p ratio, which in the case of this 2016 product is even more enticing. Too bad for the screen not tilting, but quoting Billy Wilder 'no one is perfect'. Especially at this price.

Pros: lightness, excellent file

Cons: evf/lcd cumbersome selection, layout of some physical controls

Opinion: First review. I only do street so my opinion will be entirely focused on this type of use. Small and light, passes quite unnoticed, at least with fixed lenses and not too bright. I use it with the 35 mm f2, alongside a x100s. The quality of the files fuji aps-c sector is well known, for me there is no comparison. AF pretty quick and precise even in non-optimal lighting conditions. We come to the painful notes. Not about ever immediately the photos shot on the street, but when I do I have to enter the menu, through the evf, to be able to select the lcd screen! I find the AF-L button layout and somewhat uncomfortable, especially when AE-L use the hyperfocal distance and I happen to frame vertically. Often pigio involuntarily AF-L and you change the preset focus. I'll probably be forced to cover them with tape.

Pros: file quality, rugged construction, light weight and portability

Cons: is missing the orientation features

Opinion: Jack used with 18-55. Compact and light is the ideal companion when you want to move and shoot in fluency. Allows fast action, making accurate and fast focus, correct exposures and everyway highly customizable and, above all, a quality of the file (I only shot in RAW, which stretch in LR and / or PN) simply amazing and comparable to what I allow my nikon FF. The only drawback, the fixed screen. In any case a highly advisable device and able to give enormous satisfaction, especially in the photograph "street".

Pros: Lightweight and wearable, good AF

Cons: Highlights - more than bad battery life - no file management program for Raw

Opinion: First impressions to two days after purchase, so I intend to go back sull'argomento.rnOttima camera always keep in your purse, do not miss a beat. Excellent viewfinder that allows you to preview the exhibition, except for some jam. But I believe that making comparisons with fullframe systems is a bit risky, if not dictated by total inexperience. They are different worlds and I think we should not compare. I made the shots of the same scenes executed with Canon EOS 6D but the comparison does not hold up, especially on the high lights there storia.rnProvata for the moment with 23 f1.4 - f 1.4 and 35 35 f Total 2.0.rnGiudizio VERY GOOD. To think of abandoning the fullframe in favor of XE2S recommend using both sistemi.rn

Pros: File quality, lightweight, easy to use, black and white.

Cons: A little bit of the battery

Opinion: I have been photographing for over 20 years and with this mirroless Fuji I have abandoned the reflex world. I have been for decades, a "nikonist-employee" and I have purchased many SLRs all these years (D60, D90, D7100). I needed to take off the enormous weight of the equipment that affected all my travels. So, one fine day, I took a leap into the dark in the Fujifilm world. I was literally shocked by a whole new and innovative world. My alternative was between the X-t1 and the X-E2s, but the choice fell on the latter as I wanted to discover this new world with minimal weight effort and, a little, even cheap. The X-E2s has the same sensor as the X-t1 but is not tropicalized and does not have an orientable screen. Apart from that, the machine is really light and churns out photographs with incredible definition. I have compared some works to 4000 isos, and I can assure you that the X-E2s files are SUPERIORI to those of the machines I mentioned. I squeezed the car with really hard tests and it didn't disappoint at all. The electronic viewfinder is gorgeous and well-defined. For now I have tried my new ML "only" with the 18-55mm which is a great lens unlike the plastics of other well-known brands. I preferred to buy it with the silver edge, which gives me a sense of vintage, as well as the noise of the shot. Great. I repeat, I come from the reflex world of Nikon, and I can assure you that the X-e2s is a Mirrorless Lady. I recommend it with my eyes closed. I do not know why strange (marketing fault??) but I believe that the e2s is the most underrated ML of Fuji house, in fact, I do not feel the need to move to other recent ML. Now even my simple outings with friends turn into pleasures and not torture for the weight of the equipment! Too bad we didn't discover the Fujifilm world first! Better late than never! Great!! "Update 2017" I took the 35 1.4 plus 18 (selling 18/55). I have finally created my very light and satisfying photo kit. I don't need anything else :) 2020 Update after 4 years and many trips, I confirm the enormous potential of xe2s with my 18th and 35th optical fleets. Obviously, the photo market has changed with more megapixels, stabilization, double slots, 4K video.... but all these novelties I'm not interested in. Prices of the new ML (apsc) have reached absurd levels Up to 2000 euros and then to be sold below 1000 only after a few years. I stay with the xe2s as long as it holds up and, in any case, I will not spend in the future more than 800 euros for a body that has been released for a few years.

Pros: Speed ??and sensitivity with little assist Beam improved a lot compared to the x-e2 and now the same as the SLR, light weight, physical rings for aperture, and exposure times. As it once was. very functional menu. outstanding electronic viewfinder. Optics supplied sublime. Image quality up to 6400 (in raw) just superb, dynamic range up to ISO 800 amazing species in the recovery of the shadows and noise virtually INEXISTENT up to 3200 ISO, you would not believe. It still lacks full support of demosaicing the x-e2s. Perfectly suited for photo in B / N, I do not know what depends but makes the spectacular files

Cons: Jpeg in the car just good with optimal light conditions, mixed with very low light environment. Raw exceptional but that can not be pumped over 6400. Battery 'short'. Poor balance and stability with photos free hand because of the low weight and the optics that protrude from the body and moves the center of gravity forward, to take more than 1/50 lenses you have to have very steady hands to prevent blur.

Opinion: Excellent speed of use that allows the arrangement of buttons and above all very rational approach 'physical' permitted by metal rings 'old style' that mounts. The electronic viewfinder thanks to the peaking focus allows to use AF glasses with speed and satisfaction (very big value), and is large and bright, the highest level. Also instantly it informs about the exposure changes made through the metal ring allowing you to get exactly what you want. Fantastic. The lens kit is definitely not like the classic plastic barrels with glass operetta which are usually also provided with FF, but it is a Mr. 18-55 with max aperture at 2.8, robust and fluid. The quality of images in jpeg is good if you shoot up to ISO 2500-3200, as well are kneaded and acquerellosi with whatever setting it operates in the car but this applies to 90% of cameras which are 2 or 3 models of FF. In any case it is not true, asIt is read by many, that the jpeg of fuji are so good. The only way to push the ISO 6400 is to use jepg, so it is a limit. The raw deserve a separate discussion: to develop them decently, lacking at the moment a support for E2s even in soft historically fairly well run by RAF (p. Ninja, Capture, etc.), you should use soft SILKYPIX the house but demosaicizza to suck (noticeable color noise, not from fuji sensor), probably because even optimized for previous generation fuji. A good system is to transform the RAF to DNG and then open them and work with LR. That way you actually have the good results promised by the x-Trans sensor: the chroma noise is really very low. Consider that in LR, with photos in 6400, just take a 5 slide to reduce chroma noise and also disappears what little noise there is, while up to 3200 you can even let go of all the noise reduction! Two defects as regardsthe sheer quality image: the camera does not allow, as we said, iso beyond 6400 in RAW, and - you also for the 16-megapixel, not many - the sharpness of the pictures at night is not excellent because the luminance noise than 1600 it is quite present. It must be said that makes a grain effect to '' film not unpleasant. Let's say that, leaving aside the optical kit, however spectacular, and acquiring a 1.4 or, spending more, a 1.2, there also has fun with little light, being able to remain below the 6400 ISO at every opportunity. The dynamic range seems exceptional. I also possess the D800 and I can say that the laying latitude appears on the same level. There are no technical evidence documented by the usual sites in the sector but we are certainly among the 13.5 and 14 stop at least. Up to 800 ISO the shadows rise almost indefinitely, the high lights dim a little 'less, proportionately, but always at high levels.
