sent on 05 Aprile 2024 Pros: Picture quality superb / flash exposure / auto white balance Cons: Menu structre not intuitive / feeling-handling / limitation to one focal length / battery life Opinion: Hello, i bought this camera due to its very good reuputation for taking pictures of people and family events. Yes it delivers beautifull pictures. The white balance is always spot on, this is important for me as i only shoot in jpeg. But i must say, that i don´t like the feeling and handling of the Fuji so much. It somewhow doesn´t feel good in my hands. Maybe i am spoiled by my canons, that do have a much better grip and human interface. Ergonomics are not as good as they should be. Therfore i don´t use it that much. I like to shoot with a camera, that feels good in Your hand. This is even more important then a perfect picturequality in my opinion. And this is defenitly where the Fuji doesn´t perform. Also the menues are not intuitive, and You don´t get the adjustments You need as quick as on a canon for example. The aperture ring on the lense is difficult to grap, and often You have to take of the camera from Your eye to get a grip on it. This stops You from taking pictures. It simply gets in Your way. And this is something a camera should not do. A camera should support Your shooting and not block it. Therfore i have to say that i wouldn´t recommend this camera. Yes, it delivers perfect pictures, but it is not fun taking pictures with it, and therfore i am not using it. But this is just my personal feeling, and everybody is diffrent in this aspect. Verdict: The Fuji delivers great pictures, but is poor at handling. If You really are looking for one, try it out before You buy one.
sent on 27 Maggio 2022 Pros: Construction quality; Quality of the images; Quality of the objective; Hot slide for external flash; Simulation of Fuji films. Cons: Addictive Opinion: She became my partner in my work as a photojournalist. I needed a discreet and light machine, to be combined with the SLRs, but now I use only this one because it has everything I need: Light, discreet, silent, a 35mm fixed equivalent of good quality, a good aperture, and a good apsc sensor. I prefer to shoot at low iso and use the flash, but this gem pushes to high iso which is a pleasure because the electronic noise is not unpleasant and is close to that of analog cameras. That's what makes it fantastic... it is an analog machine of the past combined with current technologies, so it has the quality that technological advancement offers, but the pleasure of photographing of the past using Fuji films. As soon as possible I will buy the fifth version, because by now I have decided with which camera I want to photograph for life. Update to the post: Today, the car slipped from my hands, fell violently on a sampietrino so strong as to bounce, I recovered it fearing the worst, and instead, in addition to working perfectly, it did not even make a scratch. I can add the phrase that a carabiniere present at the episode said: It's a small tank!"
sent on 21 Settembre 2021 Pros: Portability, file quality, an evergreen not to be underestimated ... the quality of the construction. Cons: The durability of the batteries, and little else if not the difficulty of using the rings x large hands ... Opinion: Arrived a bit 'x case in my hands, along with the XE2 of the same house, has become one of my favorite cameras. Discreet and handy, it is really suitable for street photos. Malleable raw files in good Fuj style and really pleasant film profiles, the camera gives satisfaction to the amateur photo even non-expert. For my part, she deserves a place in the kit of a street photo lover. Recommended without ifs and buts.
sent on 05 Dicembre 2019 Pros: Sharpness, high iso-like film, portability, choice between two types of focus, telemeter style and classic autofocus. Cons: Diaphragm selection a little difficult due to the little space for the fingers, not indicated for large hands. Opinion: Bought recently a little for curiosity, I heard very well about the fuji sensor and so I wanted to try, I have to say that the test was higher than expected, as long as you bring out some photographic expertise of other times, so since the 35 mm and fixed you have to move constantly to find the right frame, which is still helped by the viewfinder-style telemeter, you have to constantly look at the display meter in order to control the right exposure, however a beautiful retro style object that will it obliges you to think before doing clik, in a nutshell if you do not want to immerse yourself in pure and simple photography, forget it and turn elsewhere.
sent on 25 Maggio 2019 Pros: JPEG files, in the vast majority of cases, ready to use, it can be almost infinity, high ISO tightness. Not to be underestimated, then, the possibility of emulating some Fuji films. Very high quality of optics. Discreet and very comfortable to use. Cons: The only note, sore, in my opinion and that you have to go around with at least a spare battery. Opinion: Bought out of curiosity and with a bit of distrust, after having hacked to familiarize us, gave me the pleasure of photographing. Even if you have several reflex devices and not other brands, finished in Oblivion, is the device that I use almost always and that has satisfied me most; It does not disfigure absolutely comparing the results with those obtained with the Reflex FX... Indeed! Great for Street and reportage in general!
sent on 14 Marzo 2019 Pros: Lens, file quality/sensor, Design Cons: Drums, Jpg in portraits, viewfinder Opinion: I do not know who will be interested today, in 2019, a review of this room out of production for almost 5 years, but I really want to share with you my experience. The pros and cons of the main technicians know them all, but if I'm not mistaken anyone has ever talked about something that at first bothered me a lot: jpg files in portraits (especially with little light), tend to make a porcelain skin effect by default. The complexion is processed in this way and in some cases the effect is too fake, even if someone might like it. The solution is always use the raw, which I do normally, but for those who want JPG ready to use is right that you know this aspect. The other point that I would like to share is that I find this camera, and specifically this focal length, extremely educational! I only shot with x100s fixed focal for a whole year and this forced me to use our powerful natural zoom: the legs. This focal calls for a little effort, but it gives a lot: it imposes a compositional effort, but as said it really teaches to make the best use of the environment with a forced field angle. Obviously I think it's awesome for street photography and reportage.
sent on 01 Settembre 2017 Pros: Beautiful to see, great materials. Optical-electronic viewfinder of all respect. Sensor, autofocus slightly slim but effective. Fantastic optics. Cons: It is somewhat muddled in certain situations. Battery life but not a real counter Opinion: Taken used almost as a game, it made me question a Canon 1D Mark III kit. Eventually I ended up selling everything and going to Fuji. This little kid was more like a spectacle in the mirrorless world, which had an outstanding result. Small but robust. The viewfinder is beautiful. Coming from reflexes I initially used the optical one but are inevitably "cascaded" in the electronic one. Now I can not do it any more. High ISO hold, high-detail detail and very workable in PP. The 23mm fixed aperture (35mm equivalent on FF) is a bright marvel of the excellent bokeh. Quiet silence! The final use is more for street photos, some portrait and landscape but having a little squeezed I did make some decent photos to dogs moving with AF-C that if set in the right way and with the right agility it works really well! rnWhen I first wrote this machine it was a testbed that convinced me to go to a higher level with uon the X-T1. Restored after a few months, but it is possible that I will come back to one of these jewels in the future! RnThank you for those who love fixed and vintage look!
sent on 16 Gennaio 2017 Pros: Virtually everything ... focal length, construction, quality of the files. Cons: I can not think of anything. Opinion: What about the .... I finally bought it after a couple of years (!!!) of study. Photographer for years, started with the analogue to activate a ff ... D700. I had the need to "dump me" from space and weight, but, above all, from monkeys to constantly change perspective (I love the fixed). 35 mm is my focal par excellence and after a bit of hesitation and fear of not being able more to change lenses (monkey) I decided to try to take this meraviglua technology. GNI aspect that surprised me more than any other was the final jpeg fully usable immediately ... in terms of, wb, but also of fire. rnCredo that those who switch to mirrorless generally do not want to abandon ff, but alongside a much more versatile tool with a quality that provides a close fit to theoretically with performing systems. rnForse the only flaw, but just to get the hair in the egg, it is the lack of iso ring maybe instead of the ev. As for the battery life does not last ..... certainly like lithium a ff, but rest assured that lasts half a day there...and then c is always the second in his pocket. rnConsiglio strongly the 100s (t, f) to those who, like me loves the street and reportage ... it's funny, you will rediscover the pleasure of photographing without realizing of her neck. Good light! rn
sent on 10 Ottobre 2016 Pros: The Pros I read them on this page! Cons: How the pros also cons I only read them written by you ... Opinion: I have a question: has anyone tried the Fuji x100s with its underwater case, perhaps with an additional external flash and tell me how you found it? It convinces me as a pocket x some situations, but I would like to know if all these qualities are also reflected in diving, seen supporting a housing sub dedicated that (fortunately) does not cost a shot!
sent on 14 Settembre 2016 Pros: Design, size and portability, outstanding files Cons: Beware of shadows Opinion: I tried almost all fuji, and I was happy. But of this I innamorato.rnBella crazy, ultimate portability, gives little eye, the next to my 5d mark iii or even use it on my own and I'm never deluso.rnIl files that kind, perhaps for the optics which is less defined equivalent 23 interchangeable, it is less clear and sharp of other fuji, so for my taste is perfect. It looks like part of the film that I continue to utilizzare.rnOvviamente we are far from ff files, but you should know at the start and avoid inutii and sterile paragoni.rnMacchina perfect you always have in tow. For travel to carry with me along with tcl-x100 and I do not need anything else. It allows you to travel light and be happy to take pictures without having pounds of stuff on his back, knowing to bring home a result buono.rnLa battery does not last long, but with a little cash if they can be linked with other non-original but equally performing type patona.rnAutofocus compatible with a camera exposure because riflessivarnAttenzioneIt is to recover details in shadows is not agevole.rnUn must-have !!
sent on 25 Marzo 2015 Pros: Sharpness, performance at high ISO, sensor that allows incredible crop, suitable for any purpose other than sport (I have not tested yet) Cons: I took silver to be a little less visible it is better to take it black. It has a slow learning curve but once the hand .... It creates dependency and makes you put your whole outfit discusisone reflex. We need a second battery. Opinion: Bought for street, I still had a minimum of difficulty to understand how they work and take the necessary feeling .rnnell'ambito street, there is the problem that draws the eye as beautiful and not too small, but at the same time, allows you to photograph in low presence of light, if af does not rebel. To date the af I never created problems, if not the need to try to focus on a 5 times 100.rnPer put the whip I took her to the theater from the fourth row, I photographed with f continuous and spot metering . Pleasure. I've figured out what you can do with a sensor xtrans croppavo while the image remained the same and defined and clean. rnBella and useful level screen. rnHa two types of viewfinders, I always use the electronic, for now the other I left a little firm given that I have to study well the Lightroom uso.rnSu the machine is ready to fix the various simulations film working the raw that the correction ottica.rnNon glad I stressed to the theater I brought in a shooting outside, where he excelled as par suo churning file for incredible sharpness and color .rnSono fascinated by this little meraviglia.rnIl against the battery that is not enough for an intensive session. You have to have two if not three in the case of full day to shoot. RNLA highly recommend if you love the fixed lenses like me and want to shoot mainly portraits, landscapes and street. rn
sent on 06 Dicembre 2014 Pros: Appearance, compactness, low noise, sharpness, dynamic range, noise Shortly Cons: Af slightly capricious condizzioni in low light. Opinion: A real monster, a very funny camera shots that returns very different from what you expect. Exceptional dynamic range, in the recovery of the shadows can easily recover by 3 / 4stop without noise, a little less in the lights where it is reduced to a maximum of 3 stop.rn The sharpness of the sensor and does not seem a good APSC, the electronic viewfinder makes it easy and intuitive and it is very very comfortable, rnAltro positive aspect is the optical quality already amazing to f 2.rnPer finish his central shutter allows sync all time and is extremely quiet .in final and the camera that a photographer / photo amateur can not avere.rnLa use for a couple of months and I seem to shoot with an old rangefinder. I'm passionate as camera and reciprocates passion with impressive results
sent on 17 Gennaio 2014 Pros: portability, design, quality jpeg and RAW, white balance, natural colors, high ISO, low noise, high-speed flash sync, equivalent focal length is ideal as all-round, low-profile Cons: Price, optical non-interchangeable lens brightness, battery life Opinion: this is my first review and I did it just to feel very positive that left me even after very little use! rnL'ho bought some on a whim a while to get a machine that would allow me to shoot in unsafe environments or where the view of the reflex could be counterproductive to the success of the shot. I make several trips in order to photograph and son happened several times in peripheral ghettos of major American cities where the personal safety comes first and I had to hold the camera in your backpack to have no problems with the locals (eg Willis and Torrence in Los Angeles, or the outskirts of Atlanta) RNLA portability, or nascondibilità, was one of the primary points of the new purchase, its retro look also helps to not give too much attention. The dimensions are honest and fits easily in a jacket pocket thanks to the tiny ottica.rnIn a negative point I pointed out the low light of the small 23mm (f2), but guarantees diminutive size so it's a compromise from accettare.rnLa scelta not to adopt a system for optical intercambibili was not superimpose my current kit, but to support him, even in this case I reported as "AGAINST" but it was voluto.rnLa battery life is critical only if the maximum ability of comfort in the room (EVF, various information, speed performance, display postscatto) I currently only use the optical viewfinder, which is wonderful, and I turn off the machine manually after each shot because the auto power off keeps active for well 2min !!! Consumed small series batteries in less than a day if you shoot RAW parecchio.rnLa quality of baked is amazing to be a APSC, I was used to the old Canon 50D outdated, the automatic white balance reminds me of my high performance ex1DmarkIII , really professionale.rnLa operating speed is still high although to store photos takes a few seconds too long, but during which you can do everything (shoot, change settings, etc.) RNLA noise & egravand; example, no one even notices the near operato.rnLa your flash sync at 1/4000 comes with the shutter built into the lens, I invite you to take portraits outside coaudiuvati from unbel flash with the times ridiculous! rnAll'apertura maximum of f2 l 'Shutter works at a maximum of 1 / 1000sec but thanks to a built-in optical ND filter to three stops you can take in even well luminosi.rnIl range of ISO 200 to 6400 using the RAW file but for my use are great values and the noise occurs only in 6400.rnPotrei continue to write positives throughout the day, after each session I learn more and more extensive use, such as continuous AF, the burst, the row of exposures, auto-pan, and many other very divertenti.rnnon wait to make my first trip to put it under pressure, the prints I already tested 40x35cm and 3200ISO to f2 and file entusiasmanti.rnecc etc. :)
sent on 18 Luglio 2013 Pros: Impressive image quality, high ISO performance, build quality, vintage charm; yield of the lens; Cons: Autofocus still to be improved: it certainly is the best car of the X series (as of today, July 2013, ed) from the point of view of performance in the MAF. However, not always the focus is precise. Opinion: The Fuji X100S is without a doubt the most fascinating machine in use today: that air saucy, that image "old style" 60s, all that metal brushed in plain sight, then covered with imitation leather that is very "casual ". But behind his image "cool" you will discover a lot of exciting content. The sensor is the highlight of this machine: without a shadow of a doubt the best APS-C sensor ever produced to date. The quality of the files is nothing short of spectacular. The dynamic range is very high, it is not hard to recover shadows and highlights where necessary. Jpg files are the best I've ever got to see, so much so that when I get a little X100S not snap his neck almost never in raw. The white balance is impeccable, shows no obvious color cast. The lens that is attached is stratospheric: already at f2, 8 the sharpness is very high in every part of the frame. The perspective distortion is almost zero, the ACssente.rnLa performance at high ISO puzzled: I took in conditions of very low light sensitivity of 6400 ISO is I dropped my jaw on the floor once viewed the file. The noise is almost absent, the file has definitely some small artifacts due to the reduction of grain but no car I've tested to date, except for the 5dmkIII the result of which is very similar but we are talking about a full-frame SLR , has been able to offer to meglio.rnL 'only flaw found to date is definitely the AF system: although there has been a marked improvement over the older x100, on some occasions in low lucela MAF is not very accurate. We must say that the technicians Fuji put much input from users, so I trust that soon will be released an update of the 'AF that makes it finally worthy of this magnificent sensor. (At the end of July 2013 sees the launch of a new firmware).
