Pros: Image quality, compact and lightweight, film simulations

Cons: flash aperture selector, battery life, cost

Opinion: After years spent in the company of reflex cameras such as the Canon 7D and the 6D Mark II, accompanied by historical lenses such as the 24-70mm f/2.8, the 70-300mm and the 35mm Macro, I found myself in front of a wall. Whether it was for street photography, hiking or bikepacking, the weight of the equipment was winning out over the desire to photograph. I often left the camera body and lenses at home for convenience, ending up punctually regretting it. I sold everything and got a Fujifilm X-T50. Months later, I don't want to give technical evaluations, but to talk to you about pure newfound passion. With the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2 R WR lens, the camera becomes almost pocket-sized. This setup is allowing me to rediscover the pleasure of photography: I love using the physical aperture ring, the film simulation selector and the famous Fujifilm "recipes". Say goodbye to post-production (PP). My challenge today is to get a perfect JPG right in the room, color and/or BW, ready to be shared. I have already tested several lenses, both fixed and zoom (even third-party), with excellent performances. My lens now is to calmly recreate a small essential kit, without duplicates or overlaps, always ready for travel. Accounts in hand, the entire kit will weigh as much (if not less) than my old Canon with a single lens attached. Moving from "tank" bodies such as the 7D and 6D, I had to change my approach, the X-T50 is decidedly more delicate and you have to pay close attention to the lack of tropicalization; the autonomy is limited: it is essential for me to have a backup battery or a powerbank in my backpack; A small annoying defect concerns the flash aperture selector: it is easily attached by slipping the camera into the backpack or pocket, often triggering it unintentionally. Despite these small moles, photography has returned to being a daily pleasure and no longer a burden to be carried.

Pros: Compact, lightweight, fuji colors, a thousand customization options

Cons: Not be tropicalized

Opinion: I come from Canon 80D and I wanted a compact travel stuff that churned out ready-made files without going crazy with the PP. I opted for this even if until the last moment I fought with the XT-5 but the more than 500 euros difference made me opt for it. I didn't regret it. The machine is compact and lightweight. With the new kit you can put it in a jacket and you don't feel the weight at the neck at all. The dials are all customizable even if at the beginning you have to go a little crazy with the menus but then you understand the logic and everything is easier. The film ring is nice and allows you to be very creative. The only discordant note is the grip that is not really marked but is solved with a third-party component that can be purchased almost anywhere. The battery if used sparingly for a day of photos around is more than enough, clear that if you shoot the burst at 9/15fps the duration is reduced. I bring a spare battery anyway. The autofocus does its job even if I have to try it in sports situations to be able to understand the actual limits that many boast. Too bad I am not tropicalized but I don't have to shoot under a monsoon for 8h so I don't see this lack. In my opinion machine mistreated by many because of the price and the lack of tropicalization but in the end you take home a travel machine, compact, light, 40mpx and more or less the same functions as the XT-5 for 400/500 euros less. I am very satisfied.

Pros: Incredible image quality and detail. Very compact and ultra-manageable body. Ingenious "film" change ring!

Cons: I really don't know... borders on perfection. Maybe the battery could be more performing? Maybe a better viewfinder?

Opinion: I also had the xt30 and this is a really important and worthy heir. The surprising thing is that it maintains many of the features of the xt5 in a very compact body (e.g. the stabilizer) and well made! It costs a lot but it does NOT have the characteristics of an entry level... Excellent noise, dynamic range and above all colors. With my fuji 27 mm pancake stays in a jacket pocket! Well done Fuji!

Pros: Small, light, incredible image quality, 7-stop stabilizer, construction and materials.

Cons: No weather sealing, unbalanced with lenses heavier than 400grams

Opinion: Bought used about 2 months ago at 850, I came from Fujifilm x-e4, compact and well built camera body, flagship performance. I use it with 3 fixed, Fujinon 14mm f2.8, Fujinon 23mm f1.4 LM WR, Zeiss touit 50mm f2.8 macro. All three lenses solve 40mpx and in 1.3 kg and a small bag you have a layette of excellent quality, you have to see it to believe it. Basically I have the classic triad 21-35-75mm on 35mm plus the ability to do macro. Sometimes I feel the need for tropicalization and a telephoto zoom, but the weight and size of the body do not allow it, or rather it would all be too unbalanced. For the rest everything at the top

Pros: Image quality, stabilization, compactness and weight, build quality, joystick.

Cons: Sufficient front sight (not equal to the rest), lack of tropicalization; non-customizable film ring.

Opinion: I'll be very brief: take the "heart" (processor and sensor) of an X-T5 and put it in a smaller body: you will have the X-T50. Of course, it is not tropicalized and does not have the beautiful viewfinder of its older sister: but the image quality and AF will be the same. The ergonomics are good, considering the more compact size: a perfect machine for those who go on vacation or do those genres (street) where a small and less showy body makes the difference. The controversial film ring cannot be customized: however, there is no shortage of rings and controls available. The presence, essential for me, of the joystick is very convenient (I also think that it is like this in all Fujis). Obviously its death is with fixed or small zooms (the new 16-50 and 16-55 are fine: I would avoid the largest and bulkiest telecommunications). Finally, a note on battery life: despite being the old W126, a day is done comfortably. With two you are more than sure: I imagine that the new hardware is less energy-intensive, because compared to the X-S10 the gain is still significant.

Pros: Image quality, film simulations

Cons: Ergonomics, price

Opinion: Complicated review. If I had to evaluate only the image quality it would be a 10 and praise, 40 megapixels well managed! But then we come up against some things that I don't like, some objective, others subjective. The single autofocus has no problems of course, the continuous one (for my uses) is not reliable at all. The ergonomics look nice, but it's not for me, small machine doesn't necessarily mean uncomfortable. The construction is not exactly at the highest level as it seems at first glance, some keys are a bit wobbly. Then the adjustable monitor in "photographic" style has its advantages for cockpit photography, but for vertical photography in crazy positions it is not good, here it depends a bit on your tastes and needs. In essence, a beautiful camera, which takes beautiful photos, but not without defects, taking into account the price that is asked which can certainly not be defined as cheap. For this reason, the grade is between excellent and good.

Pros: Construction. Lightness. Image quality. Stabilization. Built-in flash. Great for the amateur photographer

Cons: Lack of tropicalization. Viewfinder can be improved.

Opinion: I switch from Micro 4/3 to APSC not because the OM5 sensor does not satisfy me but, as an amateur photographer, I am attracted by the retro look of this camera in a compact but solid body. The camera is well built (you can feel the metal) and not having a flip-up LCD it is more suitable for photography. A miniature X-T5. Excellent JPEG files churned out with the various film profiles easily accessible from the ring on the left. Of course it costs € 1,400.00 and, those who buy it, have to deal not only with their own pockets but must take into account that spending a little more comes an X-T5 with double slot (useless for me), better battery (for my amateur photography this is fine) and tropicalization (this is also not an option that interests me). Therefore I vote 9.00, satisfied to be able to wear it around my neck without - obviously - exaggerating with ultra bright lenses (I just need a Viltrox 56 mm F 1.7 for portraits and the new Zoom 15-60 supplied) to be able to do a little bit of everything. Then if you are looking for cameras for sports / birdlife photography or with superlative AF you have to go to other brands supporting other types of cost (Sony, Canon, etc ..)

Pros: Lightweight and compact, beautiful jpegs, stabilized

Cons: Viewfinder at the limits of decency, usual problem of infinity focus with wide angles, the 4-way pad is missing, 40 mpx that are not useful to everyone, the tropicalization is missing with what costs new!

Opinion: A light and compact camera body to always carry with you, with the new 16 50 it forms a formidable pair. Too bad for having recycled the old viewfinder of the xt30, given the launch price and the novelty there was a nice new viewfinder. In the cons to always point out the usual problem of infinity autofocus, which is present on all fuji models. A serious mistake that has been slightly mitigated here (although to have a correct maf it is always necessary to use the distance scale or af on + mf). I won't dwell on this aspect because it is well explained on the internet for those who want to understand why with the fuji some shots are slightly or totally out of focus. However, a machine that is a pleasure to use if you accept the usual problems and deliberate limitations
