Pros: Dimensions, weight, optical performance, aperture ring, WR.

Cons: To say something about AF engine noise

Opinion: I've owned this lens for a few years now and I'm happy with it. I often read various interventions that paint it in a negative way. I don't understand them, not at all. I see many positive sides. First the size: small, it protrudes from the machine only 2.3 cm. Very light, miniaturizing tax, I would say. It is therefore logical that in a tiny body there cannot be an AF motor like the modern ones. It means that you don't have to look for ultra-immediacy but this does not mean that it is slow, on the contrary, and it is precise and efficient. On the optical side it is very very good. Absent abreactions and zero distortion. Just close it to f4 and it becomes great everywhere. I personally didn't see flare. Remarkably sharp and performs well on 40 MP sensors. I don't see any otyic sins. Then it has the aperture ring, great addition in such a small lens. And it is also tropicalized. What more could you ask for? If I really have to find a flaw it is the noise of the AF motor, but nothing particularly annoying. Let's say you can feel it. An excellent lens, and a focal length that is not for everyone, some love it, others not so much. If it is your focal length then highly recommended. Mark

Pros: Compactness, price quality, WR

Cons: If you know what the 40mm full frame are like nothing

Opinion: After I stopped using Fuji for work, I was left in my hand with an XT3 and, not wanting to sell it, I paired it with this little pancake. I can perhaps say that I have stopped forcing the Fuji brand into what it is not: a set camera. Don't get me wrong, I've been working on it for years, but since I've been using it just for pleasure as a semi-compact I've rediscovered the pleasure of the Fuji system as a companion for adventures: light, effective, fun to use. It shines combined with fixed and compact lenses with an intention more of an amateur than a professional. With this pancake you carry around a light system that has no lack compared to heavier and bulkier pairs. One of the sharpest and most effective lenses I've tried on the XT3, it's certainly not identical to its older f1.4 brothers but I don't have to tell you either. Now that the 23mm has come out (damn it) I'd just be tempted to see how I could find myself with a focal length I'm more used to. Fujifilm should delight us with a new tropicalized 18mm and, not knowing if optically it is possible, a 33mm pancake to combine with a compact triad to take everywhere without worries. A purchase that I have been recommending for years to colleagues skeptical of pancakes, but if this is the real value of the ML APSC, the form factor is welcome.

Pros: Compactness - Lightness - Waterproofing - Diaphragm ring

Cons: Price - Autofocus (due to acoustic noise)

Opinion: A great lens, ideal for making a camera to take with you on nature hikes and travels. It is very suitable for taking "conceptual" photos, understood as those in which the quality of the image remains in the background compared to the subject or situation you want to portray and in this sense its 27 mm (40 equivalent) are in my way of thinking the most intuitive focal length and suitable for these purposes. Used examples are offered at absurdly high prices, (in the end I bought it new at the same price as the available used ones). From the point of view of performance it is an excellent lens (imperceptible geometric ornaments) from which, however, we should not expect miracles. I notice that to get results similar to those I achieve with other lenses I have to push more in the RAW processing, for example by pumping the saturation; and also in terms of tonal range it gives me the impression of being a bit "raw". In this regard, at Fuji, the only term of comparison I have is the XF 23mm f/1.4 R, which in terms of image definition and colors outclasses it without reservation (with weights and dimensions more than tenfold however). The aperture ring is very pleasant, very successful for such an optic because, combined with a camera body with an ancient flavor (such as the XT2) you find in your hands a jewel that puts you in a good mood, which makes you feel like a tourist on vacation and allows you to shoot as it was done in the era of mechanics only. The lens cap makes me a little anxious because it attaches to the lens simply by friction of the barrel barrel walls and there is no provision for a strap or similar to make an additional safety seal system. Not very suitable for video shooting due to the noise of the autofocus motor that disturbs the sounds recorded by the camera.

Pros: Portability, WR, optical quality and microcontrast sharpness, saturated colors, AF ok on recent bodies, beautiful BW

Cons: Ridiculous lens hood that must be replaced with a third party, to protect against side flares

Opinion: As an amateur. I use it on the go together with the 18-55 zoom and I'm fine. Equipped with vintage lens hood and neutral filter for battle. Mounted on xt30 II, it runs light, I use it in all weather conditions and at sea, obviously paying attention to the camera body which is not wr (sigh!). To tell one story, trekking in the rain, taken out for a few shots, made condensation on the filter, but the optics were perfect. The 40mm eq focal length is great for everything, with a few steps forward or backward, I like it. I often use f8 even on landscapes, clean photos. I also have to say decent detachment on a close-up, at wider apertures. Flares easily enter if you have sunlight coming in at the edge of the focal length. I also have the 35 1.4 which has something extra as a look.. But in trekking with variable weather and more uncertain situations, I prefer the 27, which also gives an extra breather on the landscapes. I also often shoot it in BW and I have to say that the microcontrast makes the photos with a nice texture. I'm left with the doubt vs 23 f2. In the end, the 27, with a suitable lens hood, still has its volumetric footprint. However, after long hesitations I have had it in the kit for more than a year, I am satisfied with it and I use it often.

Pros: Sharpness, lightness, af, wr.

Cons: Nothing at the moment.

Opinion: Purchased to support the 10/24 on fuji xt1. Lens that I use mainly for street, (40 mm on FX) and for light outputs when I do not need the wide angle. I immediately appreciated the weight, the lightning af and the sharpness not to mention the beautiful colors it churns out. In my opinion a must to have in a fuji kit. Advised!

Pros: Small light and compact, excellent construction, excellent diaphragm ring, excellent yield.

Cons: AF slow and noisy sometimes inaccurate, suffers sometimes second inclination side light ( ghosting ) for me unacceptable ?, in extreme light situations some chromatic aberration but nothing dramatic, for me what offers too high price.

Opinion: Tested right now on the 27 WR. I find many things excellent, excellent yield, compact and small I would say perfect if I were not the first generation AF? updated but unfortunately left the same AF noisy sometimes inaccurate unacceptable for a recently updated optics. The 27 WR to a bokeh not bad or the X-Pro3 the combination for street photography I think really good for the viewfinder also unobtrusive and ultra compact. The focal length this sore point corresponds to 40mm can be boring reason the wide-angle perspective or telephoto perhaps more interesting for many reasons but very personal consideration as focal length. Excellent also on this new updated Fuji 27 WR the tiny metal hood with plastic cap really a great choice but unfortunately it does not help much with side light I would say very disappointing with side light. This lens certainly very interesting for those who rarely use this focal length for the reason very light and compact so no problem bring it behind, otherwise if you need brightness and bokeh made at full aperture the choice 23 1.4 / 33 1.4 / 35 1.4 certainly advantageous. I recommend on the 27 WR possibly always the aperture f5.6 where extreme sharpness up to the outermost corners and sufficient depth of field for many photographic reasons. I recommend this lens for street photography or to close a focal hole only 100g are very little overall weight.

Pros: sharp, very light and compact, excellent value for money

Cons: focal sometimes a bit limiting

Opinion: A gem: excellent sharpness already at full aperture and impeccable up to f /8, even on the 40 megapixels of the Fujifilm X-H2. The distortion is very moderate, and if necessary easily corrected via software, as well as the very light vignetting. Despite being a zoom lover, I wanted to try this lens and I really appreciated its quality: it is definitely the best Fuji I have ever tried. It's incredibly compact and lightweight (82 grams!), it's bright, it has fast AF and it's tropicalized. The only limit is, of course, the focal length: it is equivalent to a 41mm on fullframe, and to have a good coverage it must be combined with other optics (I would see it well in a kit together with the Fuji 14mm f / 2.8 and 50 f / 2.0). For lovers of fixed and for those who want quality without compromise, I recommend it without reservations!

Pros: In my opinion a must have

Cons: Nothing compared to the price

Opinion: For those who love to travel very light and especially for street or walks in the countryside or mountains is a lens to have and jealously preserve. Combined with bodies type xe3 or similar makes the machine almost a compact. The yield is more than good with daylight, as we are used to from fuji. Of course it is not a blade when compared to fixed caliber 16mm or 56 1.2 etc, but it costs less than half. It is a guarantee because its simplicity of construction makes it indestructible. Equally excellent in the first version. Taken recently changing from the first version. Cult toy!

Pros: Dimensions, versatility, diaphragm ring, tropicalization

Cons: Price

Opinion: The biggest limitation of the old 27mm was in my opinion the absence of the diaphragm ring. With this new version you finally have a complete 27mm, tropicalized and with a ring. The best advantage of this activity is in my opinion the versatility: fantastic for the street, you bring out something good even in the landscape and, more generally, in the shot set. Very very good sharpness, AF can be improved. If it drops in price, it becomes a "must have" lens!

Pros: Compactness, diaphragm ring, WR

Cons: None for use

Opinion: It is not a technical review because I am not a technician; or professional because I am not a professional. But the 27th is the lens that responds exactly to what were my needs. It is compact and I can comfortably carry the xpro 3 in my work backpack and, thus, I always have the camera with me even when I do not go out for photography or I am on a motorcycle; it is WR and together with the x pro 3 I have in fact a compact always available in all conditions; it has the diaphragm ring which is a great convenience compared to the previous version (so I have the same settings of the rings regardless of the lens); the right is clear for what is his vocation; it has a perfect angle of view for the street (and with the x pro 3 steps really unnoticed) but, in case he has no other goals with me, it is also good for some landscape or some portrait. In short, I would buy it another 1000 times! Not because it is the perfect lens but because with this 27 there is not a single time when you leave the camera at home (sure however to bring home some excellent shots in the street and more than decent shots in other areas).

Pros: Weight and compactness, optical quality. Perfect focal length for urban photography.

Cons: Occasional uncertainties in focus (but we must see the cause). Cost of the original hood.

Opinion: I bought it recently to have a lens that would allow me to put the X-T3 in my pocket. I had already owned the non-WR version (however very good), and I find the 27mm focal length ideal for photographing in the city. Moreover, the 27mm WR is a very sharp lens with minimal distortion, which replaces the 35mm or 23mm very well. The fact that it is a 2.8 is completely insignificant for me, because in my opinion more open focal lengths only make sense in portraiture. I happened to notice a bit of "hunting" in the focus, but it could depend on particular factors (subjects with reflections, Fuji focus sometimes a little hesitant) so I do not feel like attributing the problem to the lens. The only flaw is the 19.90 euros to buy the original hood, which is a ridiculous metal ring, like sink tightening ring. The real problem, however, is that once you mount the lens you don't want to replace it with anything else. Habit.

Pros: Compactness and weight, focal length, sharpness and overall rendering

Cons: AF a bit noisy indoors

Opinion: Fantastic optics: super compact, it makes e.g. a compact X-Pro 3 almost like an X100V. For the street it is the best for discretion and not giving in the eye. The equivalent 40mm focal length lends itself very well to a generalist use: from the street, to the landscape, to the set portrait ... if desired it can be used as the only travel lens for example. The WR is excellent, perhaps the diaphragm 2.8 does not lend itself much to portraits in the foreground for the difficulty of detaching a lot, but it is not designed for this purpose ... the sharpness and yield and 'excellent already' from 2.8 cmq. The only flaw is perhaps that the AF indoors and in the silence turns out to be a bit noisy (but outdoors it is not felt at all). A very recommended optics!!

Pros: Size and weight, tropicalization, good general IQ

Cons: Noisy and sometimes inaccurate AF

Opinion: I was pleasantly impressed by this 27 MKII, the addition of tropicalization and the diaphragm ring, which for me was essential on a lens were the push that convinced me to resume this goal, and although the official sources say that nothing has changed on AF and optical scheme, I have perceived slight improvements both on the IQ with a better level of central detail on the range of diaphragms from f/2.8 to f/8, and on the AF, in particular the latter is slightly more precise and rapid than the 27 MKI, it still remains very noisy, but not making videos does not bother me much. The size and weight allow us to be very light, it couples beautifully on an XE body, which in this configuration is mirrored in weight and size to the X100V, advantage of less obvious dimensions on XT and XPRO bodies, but always widely perceptible. Optics that at list price is a bit caretta but if you have the opportunity to buy it from kit it would be to be taken on the fly.

Pros: Dimensions - weight - focal (suitable for everything) - tropicalization

Cons: Yield against bad light - initial price - a little flat on American flat portraits - af noisy and often undecided

Opinion: I wanted to try this 41 mm equivalent on ff because I am looking for a whole thing to do that replaces the 23 1.4 for the too slow and undecided af. Unfortunately this 27 has a big problem against light... if you put the sun behind the subject you create a white spot one-third the size of the frame. Also the loss of contrast is very... Too bad because I had fallen in love with the size but above all with the diaphragm ring that is finally designed for photographers and not for video... dry and hard as it is right that it is (you do not risk changing diaphragm without wanting it)... The three-dimensionality in portraits with American plan is also very low... Ah who needs to know that both the optical scheme and the af are the same as the first version therefore noisy, fast but with some hunting and the lenses move outwards ... I mean, I was hoping it was love, but it was a...
