sent on 08 Gennaio 2022 Pros: Versatility given the focal length and excellent image quality. Cons: Absolutely the weight. Opinion: For my R6 I started with the idea of an all-round lens right away. This 28-300 despite being a bit old does its job very well even if obviously in the focus is not a splinter. I who have never tried the pump system, I must say that I immediately felt good, even if the ring is better to tighten it after use so as not to dangle the lens. However to keep around your neck is really torture. On mirrorless with the adapter we arrive at the beauty of 2050gr excluding the camera body. Not to mention the additional imbalance given by the adapter. I tried to test it at 28mm f3.5 with the RF 24-105 f4-7.1 and Tamron 24-70 G2. The 24-105 you can safely throw in the trash and the Tamron has had his shoes made to brightness. The image quality is virtually identical to the Tamron at both 28 and 70mm. At 300mm I noticed that it starts to lose a little bit in quality but it is still acceptable. I tried to take some pictures of the Moon and at 300mm they are more detailed with the Tamron 70-300 and the focus if too bright you have to do it manually. Even at 200mm compared to the RF 70-200 f4 it does very well. As qualities they are practically identical but the 28-300 has slightly more muted colors. In the end I personally drew my conclusions that for the amount it costs, the weight and unfortunately its age, you might as well take a 24-105 f4 and the 70-200 f4 and at most an extender. The lens without tripod mount weighs 1736gr and with the tripod 1907gr.
sent on 05 Gennaio 2022 Pros: Versatility, weight, focal length, image quality, pump zoom ring. Cons: Nothing Opinion: After a scrupulous search based on readings of reviews, posts and videos dedicated to the 28-300 I decided that this Canon superzoom could be for me. In the past I had a Tamron 28-300 (very bad optics, despite being very compact and light). Ideal compromise for light outputs where with a single lens you cover a range from medium wide angle to telephoto. In one fell swoop I eliminated 24-105 f4 and 70-200 f4 and 100-400 II. During my outings I always had two eos R bodies, on one the 24-105, on the second body 70-200 or the 100-400. R+24-105+70-200 = 2200gr R+100-400= 2230 gr Total 4500gr Now I just need to go out with an eosR and the 28-300. And the weight of is reduced around you have 2400gr. For me the weight is not excessive (1700gr), it always remains lighter than going out with 100-400 and a camera body. The sharpness is still very good. Already at 35mm closes at f4, around you have 70mm becomes an f4.5 up to 300mm that becomes f5.6. Although a perspective with more than 15 years to the credit and an IS of only two stops declared on eos R and R6 works very well. Pump zoom ring is very convenient to fluid, in a moment you go from 28mm to 300mm, I find this system very versatile. I do not understand why Canon has not re-proposed it on new lenses It works very well with Kenko 1.4x multiplier. Recommended for those who want a versatile and practical optics.
sent on 29 Luglio 2019 Pros: Handyman Cons: Weight Opinion: I use this lens for about a year, bought by a photographer friend and I am full satisfied with it, only flaw sin the f to 300, but all in all a beautiful lens... although after a few hours, mounted on my 5dmk3... it becomes really heavy Advice buying to those who have to do weddings and ceremonies, because it is really versatile
sent on 31 Ottobre 2018 Pros: A very bright optics, very practical the way of the focal excursion to pump, is a complete handyman. Cons: Excessive cost for a lens that breaks easily. Opinion: A vision that surely needs to revise the construction project a bit. I happened to a lens even if used little broke the focal excursion and manual focus. If you happen to send her to repair out of warranty There are pains and regrets. It does its job pretty well on an M-III, an anomaly that I have found is that it has difficulty in AF at short distances.
sent on 11 Agosto 2016 Pros: Versatile and lofty definition. amazingly accurate colors. Robust construction and reliability at every opportunity. Cons: Cost, weight. Opinion: After several years of great satisfaction with 35-350 L, I had some difficult time photographing to 350mm in the absence of stabilization. After extensive research has presented me an opportunity to jump to 28-300.rnOttima yield: an already TA blade, even more so when you close the one / two stop.rnFrancamente already with 35-350 yield was high, but with the peace of mind stabilizer is 360 gradi.rnUnico neo perhaps is represented by, weight is not just "feather" that recommends a varied management during a giornatarndi photography. Used for a few hours, the situation becomes much more fluid and divertente.rnRitengo well that despite the cost, in time may prove a good investment, because the spread of devaluation rndiversi years becomes minimal, partly because there are not many circulation and even less on the market dell'usato.rn
sent on 29 Aprile 2014 Pros: Color fidelity, accurate, excellent general construction, functional stabilization. Cons: It does not go unnoticed, expensive, makes me scoliosis. Opinion: In relation to the 35-350 has made a great leap forward. There is everything from wide angle to telephoto. Obviously the focal length optics weighed and then you get tired to keep him in the neck. Already at room temperature and 'edgy, moving up a couple of diaphragms is a perfect blade. It 'a little' soft to 300mm, but recovers easily in post production. The other focal photos do not need retouching. Colors faithful. E 'in the pump, and then the dust and' lurking. I used it for sports photography, a field in which it is born, producing perfect images (paired with a 7d). It is also suitable for reportage (I pissed you 5dII with good results), but a day with ilo 28-300L neck imposes an orthopedic control. At the end I keep it in my arms, 'cause to remove it is not talked about. Who speaks of evil and 'envy of not having it. The stabilization allows handheld photography without problems. It 's not luminossimo and does not let you "play with light as an f 1.2" but the 28mm diaphragm TA than enough, however, to 300mm off the subject from the background. Great goal.
sent on 30 Giugno 2013 Pros: Unique, construction, good results for the characteristics of the lens Cons: Heavy, expensive, cumbersome. Opinion: I think that's the lens that I prefer, let's see if I can explain .... in all its focal you can find better (and less money) but all together you will not find anything like it. For me and 'the aim to bring always on the go but when I put in the bag I try to convince myself that I'll use it ..... then eventually use it in 90% of the photos .... rnIo personally hate to keep changing optical and the 28-300L and the problem 'solved, I use it both on aps-c on both aps-h but the maximum from it on FF where you can really leave all the rest, I did travel with the 28-300L + 50f1.4 + 90macro2.8, the last two used only in special situations, and the 28-300L always mounted.

sent on 06 Giugno 2013 Pros: L.rnversatilita.rnstabilizzatore.rntropicalizazione.rnrobustezza quality. Cons: weight, price, size Opinion: It 'a great (in all senses). RnQuesta lens and' my traveling companion for almost three years and if it was not 'cause it weighs quite a bit, I can not find flaws. Mounted on full frame makes you leave at home the entire collection of goals that you have because you do just about anything! Very very sharp even at full aperture up to 200mm. From then on, if you close to 6.3 divente new "cutting edge". RnIo basically go on the hunt for faces in the crowd and if you shoot at all focal length (300mm) and the object 'a bit' far from what is behind him, the result of the fuzzy and 'amazing for the type of optics that you are talking about! RNAF quickly and accurately, stabilizer ok and finish (tropical) unassailable! The pump mechanism (I would have preferred the traditional ring) needs a little bit of exercise for becoming startlingly ..... amici.rnCome already mentioned weighs and costs a lot, but when you consider what we can do and all the optics that makes you avoid, on balance weighs and costs as if you had three other optics (obviously L series) to cover all its focal lengths. Some say that at home Tamron Nikon and there are28-300 with the same openness that cost 1/6 of Pompone and weigh very little. Who argues that fact has absolutely understand what you are talking about. Equivalents home Tamron and Nikon are little more 'than toys amateur compared with the oject we're talking about. By purchasing the 28-300 L IS USM takes home a truly professional and not a shortcut to spend little and sperarae to do here and some decent photos. This impressive lens does not make a wrong. Only real drawback, the weight. I am 1,82 cm and weight 95 kg. Yet take a walk from morning until evening ....... it feels! RnComunque highly recommended as do all of the highest quality.
sent on 01 Giugno 2013 Pros: Good image quality, build quality at the top. It 's very sturdy and well tropicalizzato.rnVersatilità massima.rnIS effective. Cons: Expensive and heavy! The arms after a while they start to really weigh! Opinion: Really great! With a single lens, you can do just about everything, from landscapes to weddings, from portraits to hunting wildlife! RNLA quality is good, not great, but with a 11x zoom of the kind you have to give up a bit of prestazioni.rnL 'IS really effective and focus, while not fast, it is soddisfacente.rnSu Full Frame is the ace of briscola.rnSi notice some chromatic aberrations and distortions from the 50mm lens but nothing grave.rnUna highly recommended to those who, as I travel frequently and do not want to change lenses, taking with him a lot of equipment.
sent on 12 Febbraio 2012 Pros: It 's really a great all-rounder, allowing you to go from 28 to 300 mm in the blink of an eye with a good image quality! Cons: It 'damn heavy! Some problems in the corners more extreme focal lengths. Opinion: It 'a lens that allows you to take in almost everything, with a more than good image quality. In my opinion it is the best all-rounder on the market today (especially the various 18-200 on APS-C). Of course this quality you pay for with a bit of fatigue, especially if used for a whole day. In any case, the construction is super strong, robust, and virtually nothing is tropical. I find this an ideal lens for travel photography and photojournalism for those who practice and in all cases where you do not have the time (or the will) to change the lens or shoot with two bodies. With this objective in the photo takes home almost always said as another photographer, if you pass in front of Elvis Presley, the 28-300 will be able to take home a picture of life, with another goal, maybe not (because the subject will pass by and maybe you have a medium telephoto).
sent on 12 Ottobre 2011 Pros: Extremely versatile, very good yield for a 11x, The high-end construction. Cons: Expensive, heavy, cumbersome: when is a 300mm is monumental and very unbalanced in avanti.rnNon pass unnoticed. Opinion: Among the various superzoom that I tried was definitely the best, you can do it all with a single lens going from 28 to 300 in an instant. Zooming pump can like it or not, with a similar excursion I find adeguato.rnAiutato from a minimum distance of 67cm MAF is not a macro, but close up you fanno.rnL'IS is very effective: two stops there are always , and often three, resting and taking carefully, allows unimaginable results (occasionally I reached the five-stop, but it's a case) I used rnrnLo of 40D, and lacked the wide-angle, on FF would certainly be more equilibrato.rnLa photo quality is very good: I worry a little bit 'of distorsione.rnrnAggiornamento to FF: rnAdesso use it on 5D2: appearance is a strong chromatic aberration in the strong light transitions / ombra.rnDPP removes it in a single click, but there is.
