sent on 02 Luglio 2025 Pros: used and new price, great to start with, few frills, infinite battery Cons: very slow burst, inaccurate autofocus, noise at high ISO Opinion: It was the machine I started with. We are talking about an entry entry entry level that really pays two peanuts both new and used. For those who want to start small, I don't think there are better solutions. Few and essential controls, which allows you to focus on shooting and away without going crazy with a thousand dials and settings. The battery is infinite, I don't think I've ever brought it below 50%. The built-in flash is convenient. The only flaws: at high ISO the noise is evident but what do you want to do with it... Clearly the autofocus is not lightning fast and / or precise but it can give some satisfaction. Very slow gust. Plasticky yet solid construction. It doesn't scratch easily. I wouldn't even call them flaws on such a machine. After a few months of use you will realize the limits it has but the satisfaction of the first shots is incomparable...
sent on 03 Novembre 2023 Pros: Weight, robustness, ease of use, photo quality, virtually eternal battery, price Cons: Digital noise increases very quickly when the ISO is raised, burst shooting is slow, autofocus in Liveview mode is very slow Opinion: Frankly, I can't imagine a better camera for beginners: it's simple, basic, no-frills, and allows you to focus on the basics without getting lost in a myriad of distracting options. I don't think it's plasticky: that is, it's plastic, but it's very solid and doesn't scratch. The battery, if you're not always going back and forth on the display, lasts an eternity (it's given for 500 shots, but I think it can do even more). The sensor is good and manages to take beautiful photos in good light conditions. But, if you turn up the ISO (let's say from 3200 onwards) the noise is noticeable. Autofocus in Liveview mode (when using the LCD) is so slow that it is unusable for any moving subject. The focus points are few, but using the optical viewfinder the autofocus is lightning fast. Overall: great to start and practice the fundamentals while also enjoying the satisfaction of some nice photos.
sent on 02 Dicembre 2022 Pros: Weight, photo quality, ease of use, price. Cons: Lack of functions, economical construction. Opinion: An honest car, which is well worth what it costs. Very small, it is incredibly light. On the other hand, such lightness, perhaps even excessive, gives the feeling of a body built in economy. From the photographic point of view, unless you are looking for exceptional performance in specific fields (sports photography and similar), you can not complain about anything: the sensor is really good, gives very sharp photographs even with the plastic 18-55 kit. The yield at high iso is excellent, considering the segment, with images absolutely exploitable even at 3200. The focus is always precise, as long as you use the central point, and relatively fast. Unfortunately, being designed for newbies, it lacks many functions: no spot exposure measurement, very few flash modes, no precision manual adjustment of the maf... Then a few direct commands: it will be that I am used to my Sony SLRs, which are a riot of rings, levers and buttons, but here for too many things you have to access the menu. But these are small things: we are talking about a machine that costs just over 500 euros with optics. The value for money is excellent, and all the criticisms that I have made go to decay, if you consider it as an entry level.
sent on 21 Agosto 2022 Pros: Weight, price, ease of use, understandable menu Cons: AF, too few focus points, lack of SPOT measurement, exposure lock button Opinion: This is an entry level, so we cannot expect excellence. The price, currently about 500 euros (at 559 if including a bag), is captivating for those who want to approach the world of photography. To tell the truth the quality of the photos, if you soon abandon the 18-55 kit lens, and use very cheap lenses such as the 24 mm pancake (which I do not love but does its job) or the 50 mm Canon, is not bad at all and manages to offer great satisfaction to newbies. The menu of immediate understanding allows, to those who for the first time turn on a camera, not to waste a lot of time to understand how it works. And this is a great merit because to learn to photograph you simply have to photograph and not go crazy to understand all the infinite options. The limits, beyond a not very fast AF, lie in the few points of focus and in the lack of SPOT measurement of exposure (there are the evaluative one, weighed in the center and partial). The lack of SPOT measurement is something that, especially in an SLR, I struggle to understand and that prevents, in my opinion, a fundamental moment of a photographer's learning, especially against the light with the relative need to compensate for the exposure. The exposure lock lasts too little and it is better to hold down the button (which is a bit uncomfortable). So the ISO (extendable up to 12800 through the customization function). In summary, the 2000d is recommended for those who approach the world of photography and want a decent camera at a low price and easy to use; it is not suitable for those who discover that they are passionate about photography, because after a short time they will feel the need for a camera with a higher quality.
sent on 10 Settembre 2021 Pros: Light weight, ergonomics, stabilizer, well done menu. Cons: Burst and autofocus. Opinion: Let's start from the fact that it is an entry level, so you can not expect it to do what a professional machine can do. Surely it is a machine that to learn the first steps for photography is fine. Let's say that I found myself well with ergonomics and all in all the weight that with the kit is light. The autofocus is not a strong point of this machine but however the shot takes it home. The gust is too little. I gave 8 in total for what the machine offers at a decidedly low price, being an entry level. If you want to take a step forward at a professional level this machine is definitely to be left or sold.
sent on 30 Luglio 2021 Pros: Great product for quality and price Cons: for now I am not yet in a position to assess the cons Opinion: Good morning, it's been a few months since I started taking pictures with a SLR. I started with a Canon eos 1300D for about 6 months and then a friend of mine lent me his 2000D for a couple of days and I fell in love. So I gave back the 1300D, which I was valued more than I had paid for it and with little I bought myself the 2000D. I state that I am a beginner, but the machine helps me a lot, because it is simple and intuitive to use. I see that the results are improving more and more and therefore for me excellent purchase. I think I'll keep it as long as it goes and over time and some extra money... maybe used I will take something more professional.
sent on 27 Dicembre 2020 Pros: Quality-price, simple, image quality Cons: None, to be an entry level ! Opinion: I entered the world of photography using this aps-c and I have to say that it is perfect. She lacks a lot of cool things that other machine bodies have but for the value for money you can't ask for more. Light. Simple and intuitive. That 24.1 megapixels that appeal to beginners who can't take pictures and need a machine that helps them in the first steps. I would make this purchase again with my eyes closed and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to approach the world of SLRs
sent on 22 Maggio 2020 Pros: Price, simplicity, photo quality, Cons: No touchscreen, non-orientable screen, limited flash contact, too few features Opinion: A very simple and basic entry-level in my opinion too basic, however it offers a lot of quality for the current price, the flash contact has been replaced by one without central pin, limiting us to the purchase of flash accessories or original canon triggers. Iso held in the norm of apsc Canon. Metal bayonet unlike the 4000d Great to start
sent on 17 Aprile 2020 Pros: Price, sensor, lightness, great photos. Cons: For the price range none. Opinion: Great car. The adjective that most represents it is 'School'. Nothing can be blamed for what it costs. The fixed and non-touch display may seem like a lack of it but I assure you that its simple menu is easily navigable with the keys and its compact appearance do not make you regret these design shortcomings. It holds well, is very light and contrary to what you might think it is very durable. Excellent battery. The photos are perfect up to 800 ISO .... You will have so much detail and very little noise. In conclusion: get light :), combine a serious optics (case in which you used) and use only the central point of Af. will not disappoint you. The JPEG files that it churns out, when displayed correctly and with the right setting, have nothing to envy to those of much more expensive machines. Without going to inconvenient the most emblazoned and expensive pp programs the CRLs of this room are well managed by the opensource programs as long as you use the latest versions (the Cr2 libraries of the Canon 2000d have recently been included in the aforementioned programs): I recommend Darktable version 3.0.1, Rawtherapee version 5.8 and Gimp 2.10 with the plug-in dcraw. In conclusion a perfect machine to delve into the wonderful world of photography, the last of the class that will give you enormous satisfaction. Minimum maximum yield expense. Vote 10
sent on 01 Febbraio 2020 Pros: I was wrong and do not know how to delete the post (it was intended for the 1000D) Cons: It's a reflex with the mirror (more cumbersome than it could be). APS-C canon is smaller (an 18 is 29 mm FF instead of 27). Opinion: I had a 1000D. I switched to Fujifilm (XT-100 and then XT-30) and wouldn't go back. Less cumbersome. Lighter. Solid metal. Not having the mirror is just to be gained. 18-55 Canon corresponds to a 29-85 FF. With the XT-100 the 15-45 corresponds to 22.5-70 FF. For some types of photography (travel and landscape) it makes a big difference. If you want to do portraits 55 F5.6 you don't have Bokeh... might as well add a purposegoal later.
sent on 01 Febbraio 2020 Pros: I like the features. Cons: Nothing Opinion: My partner is passionate about photography, she has entered into photographic empathy with me, this Canon will be my Valentine's gift. I think it's more than good to start with. From the photos I see that it has a good yield, obviously in relation to the price. Then of Canon I like the settings, I have a Powershot GX1, good and generous machine . Greetings
sent on 28 Maggio 2019 Pros: Lightness, photo quality (low Iso), price Cons: Yield by lifting the Iso, Plasticosa, Kit lens Opinion: I have been using this entry level for almost a year to get closer to photography. For the cost that has you can not complain much, it works all right even the WiFi. Obviously being a super entry level is wicked and a little light, but it can also be an advantage. The limits of this room are very fast if you engage in photography with low light, or in dynamic shots like sports photos and missing all those functions that are small but are comfortable (eg mirror lift, silent shooting, auto range ISO). Also I find it to be quite noisy shooting, sometimes it bothers by how noisy it is. The gust makes a little laugh, as well as the 18-55 kit lens. All in all if you want to start and you do not have big claims, with little expense you have a body that well or badly allows you to make quality shots when paired with decent lenses. It's all about the price of the new.
sent on 28 Maggio 2019 Pros: Price, lightness, photo quality Cons: Kit lens, no touch screen Opinion: I bought this machine to start and I found immediately feeling, very practical and with good quality of the photos, pity for the lens not bright and in case of low light, forcing you to raise ISO and lower shutter speeds continuously. It has the WiFi that works very well for transferring photos with the camera connect application. Almost as light as a mirrorless of my friend who has the Fuji T20. To start is a good compromise, if you want to improve and have in your hands something more professional, after 1 year of use you are forced to sell it.
sent on 05 Settembre 2018 Pros: Price, sensor, practicality. Cons: Lack of touch screen. Opinion: I am possessor of a 350d and an 800d. I had the opportunity to use this car for an evening. I found it very similar to my 800d. It is true that the touch screen is missing and the same is fixed, but I found it a great machine to start with, practical and relatively inexpensive. In short, it seems a good price/quality compromise.
