I tried to take a picture to the starry sky and at 20 mm and f/3.5 diaphragm behaved quite well, despite the presence of light Pollution. I think it gives the best of SE on FF (i use it on a Canon 1ds) otherwise on APSC it would behave like a 32-56. The only sore note, as other users have also reviewed, is the very low resistance to flare. About the lens hood I want to point out that it is not good that the 10-22 or 17-40 L, or rather say could also attach itself but with serious difficulty (i had taken the lens hood for the above models but I had problems), so after a little research on the Internet I saw that the lens hood suitable for this lense is the model ew-83ii, and not therefore the model Ew-83e. Conclusion: If you are looking for a lens that allow you to do street, and landscapes, this in my opinion is Ideal. Value for money more than good.

Pros: Lightweight, USM, versatile especially on FF but also interesting on aps-c (+/- the angle of a 34/56), fairly crisp, aesthetically pleasing, unobtrusive without hood (with is more comprehensive but more bulky and visible), internal auto focus and full time MF.

Cons: A bit dark, flare often present with PL, AC, distortion still correctable to 20mm.

Opinion: Lens rather rare and little known with interesting focal range especially on full frame, lightweight, focusing fast and without any extension of the barrel. Did not have (like zoom range) heirs them among the professional L-series lenses, the optical quality which probably comes very close.
