Pros: Robustness, reliability and all the parameters worthy of series 1

Cons: Not detected

Opinion: I have been using the 1DXIII for more than a year and I must say that from the first uses I was surprised by how efficient it is, always ready, the possibility of long bursts and silent shutter release useful when necessary. The AF has improved a lot compared to the previous model. In live view you have the possibility to shoot even with an electronic shutter, excellent for nearby mammals, in this case it does not have eye tracking like the ml but if you point the head keeps it hooked very well. The file is spectacular, it is not afraid of crops and I find that compared to the previous model, which was already excellent in this, this 1DXIII almost never misses the exposure of the shot, also greatly decreasing the work on the pc after the shot. A camera to have.

Pros: Series 1, speed, robustness, tropicalization, burst/buffer, dual CFexpress B, touch screen, reliability, optical viewfinder.

Cons: No longer in production

Opinion: When it comes to reliability or bringing home a job in any weather condition or various scenarios, only a few tools can really be relied on, the Series 1 is one of them! No matter what you're documenting or what condition you'll be in, having a camera like the 1DX Mark III in your hands gives you the confidence that you can take on any unimaginable scenario. I come from a long range of Canon cameras, from APS-C to Full-Frame, from DSLRs to Mirrorless, currently (June 2024), at least one 1DX Mark III is always in my backpack, especially when I have to face new work challenges. Like many of you, I am anxiously awaiting the release of the R1, which will certainly raise the bar of excellence even more, but in the meantime the flagship of Canon remains the 1DX Mark III.

Pros: Being a 1DX, therefore: robustness at the highest levels; ergonomics; AF; dynamic range; high iso; Dual SLR/Mirrorless...

Cons: Not detected.

Opinion: Having started with digital from 1D and arrived at 1DX mk III, passing through all the intermediates, including the 1DS Mk II and Mk III, today I divide the work between this monster of efficiency and the R3, but when I pick up the 1DX mk III and hear the sound of the burst, my senses enjoy infinite pleasure. The R3 is a lot of stuff, but the filing and the pleasure of shooting that gives me the last of Canon's flagship SLRs is unparalleled. All the improvements it presents compared to the mk II (and they are not few), repay the price difference I had to pay for the up grade. Concluding this mini review, I can safely say that this is the PERFECT camera for the way I work. Aware that there is no perfect camera, I have to say that this one is PERFECT for me!

Pros: Continuity with respect to 1DXII, AF, battery life, well-workable files, high ISO seal.

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: Car purchased in February 2020 to photograph car/motorcycle (my passion). It would have flanked the 1DXII. Unfortunately, covid-19 has put its foot in it and therefore racetracks closed to the public. I only managed to use the machine on one occasion in Imola for the purpose for which I took it. I can say that the af seemed better than that of 1DXII but it is just a feeling, it lacks the proof of the two machines side by side in the same event, now it will be (hopefully!!!) something I will do next year. In footage made with bad light and with many reflections on the hull of the bikes, the machine seemed to me to keep in focus better than the 1DXII. The 1DXIII then used it on other occasions and I was able to see that the files are, in my humble opinion, better than those of the 1DXII, more workable and with an excellent hold at high ISO. Fantastic the possibilities given by the focus point change button, a nice step forward (for me) compared to the classic joystick (which still remains). Great to be able to use the same batteries as the 1DXII. Expensive (very expensive!!!) cards. Infinite burst that must be expertly adjusted according to your needs so as not to be then with a thousand shots to control (and throw). Maybe I would have preferred a sensor with a few more megapixels since I often find myself croppare on the track. However really happy with the choice made (and well thought out), a machine that for the next few years I hope to be able to enjoy without the limitations of this 2020.

Pros: Af chase, silent click with electronic shutter, optical key af point selector, 1dx and 1dxII compatible battery, etc.

Cons: needless to say the price and the weight, whoever takes it does it because they need it and know what they are buying.

Opinion: I waited quite a while before reviewing it, as long as I come from 1DX mk1 the news for me is many. First of all I was impressed by the quality of the file and how you recover the noise quietly up to 12800. Shots are easily usable up to 51200iso. Obviously it depends on what you have to do with the photos. Definitely give the possibility to use more even the less bright optics, for example I find the 28-300 very versatile but exceeded 100mm starts to be a bit dark but this is no longer a problem. The af chase is really extraordinary, I can not compare it to that of other brands but also having the 5D MK4 notice the difference. The burst is of impressive speed, in live view if you get distracted you are with dozens of unintended photos. For me that I shoot often underground or in any case in very bad environmental conditions is fundamental the tropicalization that series 1 offers, I got to take the 1DX everywhere, from the wettest subsoil to the summit of the white mountain and I assure you that it has never betrayed me , I imagine this mk3 is no less. the video industry are not able to comment on it because I use it very little but the integrated stabilizer and the ability to record the 4K raw in the car are definitely fundamental features, also nice the ability to record at 120fps. The optically functioning af point selector I find it very convenient, moving the af point has become immediate. What else to say, definitely a nice jump for those who didn't pass for the mk2.

Pros: Focus speed, fps speed, file quality.

Cons: undoubtedly the price.

Opinion: I don't want to question the quality of the product and having had a 1dx, two 1DX mark II and now a mark III I can be sure of the overall quality of the Canon flagship, however honestly and in my humble opinion if you do not have a tight need of improvements , because they are, of the mark III the cost scissors between the two models is not justified. The machine is extreme and the file is undoubtedly better in every respect, it should be remembered that of mark II if those like me bought an additional battery can also be used for the mark III as it is identical, the memory cards are not and the new type are definitely faster but also very expensive. Conclusion: extreme, professional and quality product. Exorbitant price.
