sent on 14 Novembre 2025 Pros: Lightweight and easy to use, discreet image quality, a valid entry level at the time of its presentation on the market Cons: Low-cost product, therefore made with purely economical materials and characteristics Opinion: The 1000D was the first Canon reflex I bought, the camera that allowed me to take the first steps to better learn concepts and technical notions, coming from the bridge world it was still a valid travel companion until a couple of years later I switched to the 60D. Of course, in 2025 it definitely appears to be an outdated tool, but at the time it was not at all despicable, ultimately it was still a good start, the image quality was certainly not comparable to models that cost ten times as much, however it allowed you to take good photos. After using it for a couple of years, it was the second camera body for a while until I gave it to a friend. All in all, the judgment is largely positive, paid very little she still performed her service well.
sent on 30 Dicembre 2024 Pros: Lightweight, compact, easy to use, with adequate image quality to get you started. Ideal for those looking for an economical and intuitive product, with a fairly long battery life. Cons: Not very robust materials, limited autofocus, maximum ISO sensitivity of 1600 with evident noise already at ISO 400. It lacks SPOT mode and Live View is without autofocus. The burst is slow, the shutter noisy, and it doesn't record video. Opinion: Canon 1000D - My first DSLR The Canon 1000D was my first DSLR, a perfect travel companion to start exploring the world of photography. With its lightness and ease of use, it taught me the basics and allowed me to shoot with satisfaction despite its limitations. While not an advanced camera, it was more than enough to make me understand composition, exposure and technique. The image quality is good for beginners, and the price made it affordable. It is not without flaws, but it has been able to make me grow photographically step by step. Perfect for starting, but his limitations are felt as he grows up as a photographer. A great school to learn!

| sent on 19 Marzo 2023 Pros: Simplicity of use, lightness, good colors, used price Cons: Mediocre autofocus, little dynamic range and detail, poor yield already at 800 iso Opinion: My first digital SLR, plastic but not too much, I have always taken great pictures without ever having too many pretensions ... It is good for outdoor portraits on sunny days, landscapes, street, urbex. It makes good colors even if unlike other canon tends slightly to cold. With 18-55 not stabilized as I had you always risked the blur also for the poor ISO seal ... which still helps to get the pulse steady :-) However, it has all the settings for the beginner and with automatic programs immediately makes excellent photos even if they tend to be slightly underexposed. Unfortunately the big gap is in the dynamic range and in the detail in general... With its 10 mpx it should be a little better... compared to the 550D, which I still own, it literally disappears... although sometimes I regret the colors of the 1000D and its truly unique "art" effect in every photo. | sent on 12 Aprile 2021 Pros: economical, light and intuitive Cons: quality images, plastic, no auto focus in live view, autofocus, few MP, noise already present at 400 iso, no video, no spot mode Opinion: it was my first reflex machine body, purchased in bundle with the usual 18-55 in 2007, despite taking it around the world, North Africa, east coast of the USA, West and Eastern Carabi and Northern Europe, I took about 30 thousand shots but I never understood it and I never managed to use it completely but I always had to support another machine , thanks to the sensor with a low pixel density and not very prone to high isos, in fact already at 400 you have an annoying noise which makes it practically a paperweight in certain situations, another very annoying thing is the live view that does not have automatic focus and forces you to use manual fire, which is ignoble if you want to take a picture at a concert maybe holding the car raised in the crowd. One point in favour is the price that is low which makes it better than any tank such as the 1DS3, that is, with this you can go there in the desert without problems, make them take dust and mud water so much with what costs is considered almost disposable, it remains excellent for those who want to start |
sent on 11 Aprile 2021 Pros: Fairly clean sensor for the time and price range, very light (even with battery grip mounted), essential, immediate ignition Cons: apsc sensor, max iso 1600, unreliable autofocus, no video, few MPixels (10) Opinion: In my possession since 2010, I have only been using the machine in manuals for years now .. simple and essential.. max iso stop at 1600 and in low light obliges to use lenses f/2.8 or f/2; it has no video in the car but I shot video (without audio - with audio to create and mount apart) in tethering from the PC with a program written by me in c# (the use in tethering is contemplated both with the canon program and with the free programming bees) but it is more for experiment than anything else: the video quality is insanely low for any standard of any era (it was not born for video in short); 10Mpx are few but sufficient even today (at the end of the day a 4k television is less than 10Mpixel .. ); the sensor is quite clean (for the time) and with good lenses the machine solves several details; flash sync at 1/200 but if you use a totally manual flash that uses only the central point of the hotshoe (still present - not like modern entry levels) you can push yourself to 1/250 without risking seeing the shadow of the curtain; effective white balance but better always choose it in manual and live view usable even if it consumes a lot of current; comfortable setups for picture styles (a custom for black and white I always have it in my hand .. ); autofocus is the real weak point (closer to the analog 300V than to a modern machine): in practice I use only the central point, and with lenses with opening f/2.8 or f/2 it is good to calibrate lens and machine in camera service (I had the 24-70 f/2.8 calibrated which is now reliable and after calibration it was also accurate the 28 f/1.8 but in low light the probability that the machine will focus what it wants remains) .. Now it actually feels the weight of the years a little bit in everything, but if you use it thinking about what could be done with an analog 35mm and not what you can do today with a modern digital is still enjoyable in non-specialist areas.
sent on 11 Aprile 2021 Pros: Simple, lightweight, lightweight files Cons: Cheap materials Opinion: It doesn't have the video feature, but for me it's not a flaw. It has all the functions that can be expected from an entry level, intuitive and practical. Now 10 mpx are outdated, but the files are light and easy to upload even on non-latest generation PCs. And if you learn to know her and you know how to use her she can still say hers. It's a great (and now cheap) machine to rely on to learn how to photograph.
sent on 10 Settembre 2018 Pros: Image quality. Weight and handling, overall dimensions. Price. Battery life. Great to start with. "Masters" limits. Cons: Maximum Iso 1600. Noisy sensor. Autofocus. No SPOT metering. Little Silent Shutter. Slow burst. White balance. Opinion:
sent on 09 Febbraio 2017 Pros: Cost, liveview, ease of use, battery life Cons: Af disastrous and very slow, a400 iso already noisy pixels. Opinion: My first reflex, when I think I remember now full of flaws, but at the time ... How many soddisfazion !!! It is still a Canon and its "craft do" then obviously everything rapportato.rnLa maf was a penalty, a few points and then if there was little light, saved! beautiful colors, pity about the noise for me was already annoying to 400 iso.rnUna wide range of objectives of all prices and brands, all in all I'm happy to remember it is also me a bit 'of nostalgia.
sent on 06 Agosto 2016 Pros: Economic, lightweight, easy to use, great for a beginner Cons: ridiculous ISO management, lack spot mode (as modern 1200/1300). Opinion: It was my first SLR, and after a year of use, after having compared with my new 650D, I can sum up: it is used at bargain prices, siciramente if I had to choose between a 1000 or 1200/1300, the better old woman. rnSforna rows of 10 mpx, lightweight and easy to work with. rnDato not turning out beautiful and ready jpeg must gain experience with post production, and I consider it an advantage, after all if I want jpeg ready snap with your phone. rnNonostante is a max ISO of 8 years the entry level are only in 1600; ISO max files are manageable (for personal use limit), but already at 200 ISO noise is there and it vede.rnQuesto is one of the reasons why I changed: in certain situations, such events, ceremonies etc. , you just can not shoot. rnL'altro reason is the lack of spot mode for exposure, apparently not available for Canon SLR lower end. rnDevo mention that with a few euro more my 650D has many extra things: touch screen orientsible with good definition, improved autofocus, better burst. rnih conclusion, I recommend it to all those who want to start this amazing journey that is photography, you'll understand why when I needed something more, it means that you will have improved your technique or you have specific needs that will allow you to express yourself to the fullest. Definitely better this than a new entry level rather spend in rn objectives
sent on 03 Novembre 2015 Pros: Price, functionality, weight Cons: Iso, 10Mpx Opinion: My first digital SLR, excellent to start, surely now (2015) have been made huge strides in the world of digital SLRs but I keep using, inseparable, lightweight and comfortable, does not shine in any environment is clearly a camera designed to get close to photography and in this succeeds very well. Now discontinued replaced by the new 1000 series.
sent on 11 Settembre 2014 Pros: Small, light, intuitive, excellent battery life, lighter file, price. Cons: Sensor noisy especially at high ISO, the files need to post, shutter sound terrible, difficulty focusing in situations of poor visibility or poor contrast. Opinion: It 'a great macchinuzza to begin the approach with the digital SLR photography. It has everything you need, nothing more, nothing less. Its price is very attractive to enter on tiptoe in this mondo.rnGrazie to its small size and low weight, it is not a tragedy to bring her wherever you vada.rnrnLe its limited performance lead to want to learn more, to achieve better results, is to maximize the tool in the recovery both during post.rnVenendo from analog photography, where adjustments are limited, learn to shoot with this tool was quite simple and intuitive. rnI file that produces need a bit of post-production, one of the main Pecce is that if you want to pull out a bit of sharpness produced from the image file you run into very noisy even at low ISO, so the "clean" are absolutely necessary. rnPer me that I am neither an expert nor a lover of post-production is a defect, to those who like to tinker can not be a real proprio defect, but a "has become so" .rnA times when you do not want to put a fire there's no way, forcing the manual focus in low light conditions and even the eye can be a little hard to see where to turn the dial until you find the red dot accesso.rnDal my point of view the viewfinder coverage is not complete strain on the composition of the image a bit and my very humble opinion that has nothing to do with the result is the noise it makes the mechanism of 'shutter a bit from "toy", direi.rnNon unbearable that I can give a positive vote considering tutto.rnBuona light
sent on 09 Agosto 2014 Pros: Lightweight, low price. , Very easy to use, good battery life Cons: lack video, af slow and somewhat inaccurate, iso low, the lack of dust Opinion: To enter the world of photography, there is nothing better than the 1000 levels of the two sisters in 1100 and 1200 the most modern battery lasts a bang rnl'autofocus is slow and not very suitable for continuous shots and night shots but combined with the sigma 10-20 gave me great views, and is very light, I happened to use it also coupled to the canon 40mm pancake and it seems to use a small compact, you can not expect great results but in short, is the perfect machine for those who want to start (at least until the picture becomes a drug and imposes on you the use of machines of higher grade) but for a beginner the upper stains are useless most of this to learn the basics
sent on 20 Maggio 2014 Pros: Economical, lightweight and intuitive Cons: Noise, focus, slow and inaccurate Opinion: The 1000D is an SLR that I will always remember with pleasure, for me is the mandatory step for those who must start: entry-level reduced to the essentials that you can come and thoroughly understand the "mechanics" of an SLR, it definitely has a lot of limits, but it is right that the first SLR to have them. Moreover, thanks to the savings on the body you can afford to go with it saving some quality optics, and if you start to combine it with interesting optical quality also small and handy entry-level in question can churn out some interesting image. Inevitable with increasing passion switching to a better body. Highly recommended to those who racks his brains on the first purchase: no need to consider the bodies of several hundred Euros, save money and if you fall in the combined budget perspective better than 18-55, which is the true limit of 1000D.rnrnlorenzo
sent on 19 Maggio 2014 Pros: Economical, lightweight, has useful functions for learning how to use an SLR: Manual, Shutter priority, Aperture priority. Cons: Obviously you can not take too much for this price but it has many shortcomings: low iso 1600 and even exploited well, there is often noise in the picture, system focus disappointing, except when used with a fixed point. It does not have video mode. Low quality materials. Missing the top screen. Opinion: I consider it a great machine to learn, at least for me it is stata.rnDa the ability to use the camera in the upper mode of the sisters, from pre-programmed scenes to those manuals (AV, TV, M). RnGrazie these you can learn all more photographic techniques: rnCon TV set can slow shutter speeds to blur creative techniques (panning, hazy skies or water movement, etc.) rnCon av ... we can learn to use the brightness of a lens opening up to the maximum aperture for portraits, or closing it to take pictures of paesaggio.rnIn M manual can do everything ... rnrnOvviamente limits at some point will be felt, and luckily! It means that the basic things you have learned and now is the time to move on to the next level to continue in this wonderful passion which is to be fotografia.rnrnSpero state of aiutornUn salutornrnDaniele Ruggeri
sent on 15 Novembre 2013 Pros: Economic, relative quality, complete with all the necessary adjustments to start hacking away with an SLR ... Cons: The lower limits of a semipro as overall quality, af loony in certain situations, when you decide you do not want to take, there are ways to change her mind ... Opinion: Machine that is the entry level for excellence, is cheap and snaps like a one-400d, good quality than price, honest, fairly complete manual section. The main flaws are first of all that the auto focus especially in low light is the main actress of the stage, and then the final decision when he does not want to take her things!!
sent on 28 Ottobre 2013 Pros: Lightweight and compact, excellent quality / price ratio, long battery life and image quality. Cons: Slow in continuous shots, Iso limited. Opinion: Given the quality / price ratio, for me it's a perfectly successful. Its ease of use is a big help especially for beginners who look out for the first time to the field of SLR. I've seen some reviews complaining about the lack of video function, but personally I do not feel the need and, in any case, everything is in proportion to the price more accessible than the machine itself. You probably have not yet experienced enough to recognize the limitations of this camera but I think the 1000D is a great support to mature their photographic technique without necessarily incur expenses for which an amateur may be excessively and unnecessarily high.
| sent on 08 Marzo 2013 Pros: Light, cheap, surprisingly produces great shots. Live view. Excellent also as a second camera body. AF good. excellent battery life. Good up to ISO 400. Great for beginners. Cons: AF limited. ISO limited to 1600. Gusts poor. Opinion: A great car for those who approach to photography. The own for 3 years, it was my first SLR and I was very satisfied. Now I begin to be very close, I would like to upgrade. But I want to say that a beginner will pass many, many shots before being given the constraints of macchina.rn10MP seem few, but they are not for nothing. for pictures on the monitor are great for printing megalithic dimensions are good. | sent on 05 Dicembre 2012 Pros: Price, ease of use live view and size. Cons: Low yield to iso greater than or equal to 800, Af not precise, targeted and gusts virtually nonexistent. Opinion: Good SLR to start with soprattto for newcomers to the world of photography. Has limitations such as AF and performance at high ISO sometimes frustrating. It is simple to use and produces good file with the right optics. The viewfinder is only used to compose since it is impossible to rely on this for a MAF precise, this deficiency, however, and in part by soddifatta live view in genres such as macro and landscapes is utlissimo. |
sent on 03 Ottobre 2012 Pros: Price, weight, size, quality raw Cons: ISO maximum, no video, slow burst, autofocus, jpeg Opinion: Brought home with € 300 in a kit with 18-55 has a good relationship image quality / price. The low weight make it almost disappear in the bag but for those with large hands is too small (problem solved with battery grip). The 7-point AF system would be sufficient but the contrast detection becomes very slow on Low-contrast subjects or in low light. The quality of the raw is very good with the right lens (see 50mm f/1.8) but the files are too compressed jpg. Unfortunately, the flurry of 3 fps (sufficient for a "normal") is only possible in jpg. Maximum ISO 1600, for use up to 800, also here you can solve with a fixed light. Missing the video function but I've never felt the need. In general it is a good investment to get into the SLR world: its limits come soon but the skill of the photographer lies in overcoming them. Ps: 10 Mpixel are more than enough and also be processed by PC dated, done often held little consideration ..
sent on 21 Settembre 2011 Pros: Affordable, compact and lightweight, good image quality Cons: Iso content, missing video, small screen Opinion: The 1000D is an entry level camera, with a good price, good image quality, compact and lightweight. It 'was my first digital SLR camera with which I have done and continue to do good photos, if you use it in manual has all the useful functions for experience (live wiev, mirror lock, remote control by PC, etc ...) . the screen is a bit 'small only 2.5 "inches but this makes the battery life of more' (about 400/500 shots without the use of live Wiev). As can be up to ISO 1600 but I have to say that is usable really only up to 400 or up to 800 in an acceptable manner. convinced me not so much the system focus to 7 points and is a bit 'slow as burst (max about 3 frames per sec. JPG, half in Raw.) Ideal for beginners or as a second body.
sent on 25 Agosto 2011 Pros: Image quality, light weight, a historic brand Cons: Lack video Opinion: I agree with those who have written before me. I took advantage of a promotion and now I also own a DSLR worthy to be called such. I do not reject my Fujifilm F30 because I have too many memories linked to its ability to be a good compact, especially in low light. But since I purchased my "mini" Canon, I would just go and shoot all over the world.

sent on 19 Agosto 2011 Pros: Lightweight, economical and all you need to look for a novice photographer Cons: Iso content, exposure compensation sacrificed, in general performance contained Opinion: I am a happy owner of 1000D as novice photographer. And 'no doubt that in the first months / years of photography, however intense they may be, is still to a discovery. Would make little sense to get good results only by half of the upper class (I avoid trivial comparisons with the automotive world!). The 1000D allows you to experience all that you can do in photography and the results are more than appreciable. It 's true 1600iso are few, 10MP now are exceeded, a few points of focus and metering but we've got a body of 300 (trecento!) euro offering the possbilità to "play" with any parameter photographic so far there were precluded by the compact. I suspect that when the photographer realizes that limit the quality of their work lies in the equipment then it is right and proper to adopt something that can really unleash its potential if used correctly. 1000D: very good testing ground
sent on 15 Luglio 2011 Pros: Light and compact with good image quality. Cons: No video. Opinion: The 1000D is a camera truly successful. E 'very compact and light but does not disappoint as regards the quality of image. It 'perfect for travel photography and "street photography", you can just hide in the bag and can be pulled out at any time. It has 10 megapixels and image quality, considering the price of the camera is very good and the sound of digital content, may be due to "only" 10 megapixel cameras with comparable upper class. It has a 2.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 230 thousand pixels. The electronic viewfinder is pentamirror, the processor is the previous DIGIC III and supports memory cards Secure Digital and SDHC. Shooting at a maximum speed of 3 frames per second and the price of the camera is not bad. Unfortunately no video but has a live view of good quality even with 10x magnification. The best choice for those who began photographing with a DSLR or for those looking for easy handling.
