sent on 15 Gennaio 2024 Pros: Sharpness, Size, weight (in relation to focal length) Cons: ferrules a little too loose, cap Opinion: Really solid and beautiful lens in terms of aesthetics, even the cap which, unfortunately, falls off every three by two. The lens amazed me: one of the best manuals I've found. The MAF scale seems to work very well (it's very easy to put it in hyperfocal). The greatest advantage is that it takes beautiful photos, even the colors are not bad (it tends to be a bit cold). For the use I make of it (street) I don't notice any particular aberrations - instead it is quite sharp. At the price you find it's definitely a good wide angle. I haven't had a chance to test it for landscapes but it seems clear to me that it can be fine (I've seen some nice things in some galleries). Advised
sent on 29 Aprile 2022 Pros: Construction Cons: Yield at the edges at all openings Opinion: It is a lens made with excellent materials... for the price it is a small masterpiece. The overall yield is very good, but at the edges very bad at all openings. However, I always use it with great pleasure, both for the focal length and in urban and landscape contexts it is very usable, and for the chromatic rendering, very pleasant. Very compact, it allows you to keep the room in your pocket. Too bad for the very loose cap that you risk losing. However recommended, considering also the excellent opening.

sent on 08 Giugno 2021 Pros: Small, light, cheap, well built, rings with the right feeling, unexpected quality of image for cost, poor chromatic aberrations, unwarrantable distortion in real use, has defects easily corrected in post Cons: focus breathing: it is not a real 12 mm, extreme edges not much, vignette quite Opinion: I have it recently, I paid it 116 euros new and for this price I am more than satisfied with what it offers. I had the Samyang 12 mm f/2 and I rely on a comparison between the two. The Samyang surpasses it in engraving, uniformity and optical quality in general, but compared to 7artisans it suffers from strong chromatic aberrations that dirty with magenta and blue/green halos every detail at the edges and for this reason I have never digested it and used very little until reselling it. The 7artisans of aberrations has none, in real use they are really scarce and then even the geometric distortion is inadvertent compared to the Samyang. As a solvence and engraving it is obviously not at the top but not even evil: in the good center, at the extreme edges so so. In my opinion, its strong are the set portraits or the medium-distance subjects that fill the central part of the frame where it makes better and does not disturb too much the strong vignetting that is easily corrected; less suitable for landscapes although I have not yet experienced it in this regard. Attention to the real focal point: change the angle of field with the focus distance; more than a 12 mm looks like a 13/14 mm and at even tighter close distances; for me it is not a problem, indeed better because it is a little less extreme than Samyang; for sure it is a lens that to be exploited must be used at the right time and positive has that you correct it in pp without penalty.
sent on 21 Aprile 2021 Pros: Small, crisp, light Cons: A little flare, obscene cap, he parades alone in his backpack Opinion: Working PDC scale, marked internal reflections, remarkable sharpness for cost. Cold colors, decliccato diaphragm beautiful but that does not make you understand the transition from one diaphragm to another. One of the best MF optics ever possessed and tried and through circles or my Facebook Group Fotogitando I have tried so many. I definitely keep it for convenience and quality. Those who thought about the cap had drunk so much...
sent on 31 Agosto 2020 Pros: Construction, optical quality, price, weight Cons: Tendency to spin in backlit situations Opinion: I've been using it on Fuji for almost 2 years and it has given me a lot of satisfaction. The sharpness is more than good, even at the edges to the intermediate diaphragms. Very well controlled distortion. Vignette not excessive. Excellent construction. In the face of the 8-16mm Fuji succumbs, but without disfigurement. Recommended when you want to walk or ride with a small set in tow.
sent on 06 Novembre 2019 Pros: Cheap, good sharpness, easy manual focus, continuous diaphragm, impression of robustness Cons: In the backlight needs attention Opinion: A very economical lens that amazed me by sharpness, distortion correction, ease of focus and diaphragm. Chromatically a little cold, but it's not a problem. Backlight to be careful, with some parasitic reflex in evidence. It provides an idea of robustness and pleasantness, built of metal. Quite compact and quick to use. The metric scale is convenient, despite the large pdc of the focal. I use it on fuji and I'm quite satisfied with it
sent on 27 Agosto 2019 Pros: Excellent resistance to flare, visual, field angle Cons: No species at this price. Opinion: I'll leave you the link where you find the review I did and photos especially those in the light. Sounds perfect on all aspects to me. Considering the almost trivial cost of the lens, considering the weight that has almost derisory, considering the big opening and I reiterate again The cost I can not find defects in this lens as I can not find it in the 55 f 1.4 that I took as well. https://youtu.be/mHVTCzYQnJM
sent on 05 Agosto 2019 Pros: Construction, utility size Cons: Sometimes not perfect focus Opinion: Bought to flank the two zoom fuji 18-55 It is 50-230., used with an x-t10 found at 100 euros and taken to have a greater angle for landscapes. I have to say that I find it great and better than the canon 10-18 Which was less sharp (I had a canon 60d and also a 5d kit given away because in the end for the weight I carried in the mountains only the olympus stylus 1, however valid) but returning to the 12 7artisans used both for photos up close that for panoramas I found a good sharpness except at all opening and little distortion however easy to correct in post production and in the backlight is not the best. In conclusion excellent optics with excellent yield with little spent
sent on 01 Giugno 2019 Pros: Price, construction, vintage Beauty but... Cons: Photographically almost everything Opinion: Very well-kept and elegant packaging that at the opening shows what mechanically seems to be a jewel. Nice, really nice to see. The right, unsnapped diaphragms, heavy the right, compact, all metal. If it was also usable to make beautiful photos would be perfect:-) Unfortunately my specimen was too little sharp at any aperture, or maybe it made it better to TA than closing the aperture until it is almost useless to F11/F16. I have specified "my specimen" because I see photos made by others with the same lens model and that are definitely beautiful, which makes me hope that there has been either a problem with my specimen or that quality controls (which affect much on the final cost) are Q Antisticking less approximative. Returned after three photographic sessions in which I managed to get no more than three or four decent shots on which they still had to intervene heavily in PP. Too bad because aesthetically it's really nice... But I took in his place a Sammy 12mm F2, also full manual, which is quite another thing. My advice? Buy it only if the seller assures you to accept the return without too much trouble.
sent on 27 Marzo 2019 Pros: Price, compactness, general image rendering, well contained distortion, solid construction Cons: Flares, ghosts/all that exists in backlight, aperture Ring without shutter (for traditional photography), frontal bulb lens-no traditional screw filters. Opinion: Really remarkable Lens for the price range. Equivalent to an 18 mm on FF (I compared the angle of view with the Nikon AFS 20 1.8 that I own, mounted on the D800, and the 20 Nikon is narrower in a visible way). The distortion is very well controlled. Used on Fuji is a portento, especially indoors or in all situations where the sun is not in the frame. To avoid the use in backlight because it does not stand the direct sun and projects a little ' everywhere halos, phantom images, flares and all the repertoire of aberrations that there may be (but who knows, maybe someone will also find a creative use without jokes). Moreover, the situation gets worse if we get out because the aberrations become even more visible. The image decays at the extreme edges and there is a fair amount of vignetting, but for my uses the whole thing is more than acceptable. Good color yield, used on XT1 not known particular deviances to be corrected in pp. It is clear already at full aperture, for those who ask, it solves abundantly all 16 mpx of the aforementioned XT1; I haven't tested it on the 24/26 mpx of newer machines. In Fuji, same focal and as fixed lens, the alternatives are not many, I think only the Samyang 12 mm and the Zeiss 12 mm (but it is also autofocus). For me it's all about price.... Who wants to spend really little and have a decent lens must run to buy it. If you are looking for absolute quality, you may find the most suitable Zeiss offer, especially if you are shooting against the light.

sent on 06 Novembre 2018 Pros: compactness, possibility of mounting filters (with a special accessory often not included in the package), economical Cons: Aperture ring without shots, a little flare Opinion: An economical lens, but built very very well, sturdy. It has some glitches in backlight and but for these focal can almost be normal. Bad the ring without snap to the change of aperture, but for the purpose of shooting does not change anything. If I look at the price to which it is sold I realize I can not expect more, a perspective to have because considering the size, construction and performance... is a good compromise.
sent on 12 Giugno 2018 Pros: Price, materials, weight Cons: Lens exposed, you can not mount filters, aperture ring without shots Opinion: An excellent wide angle lens for APS-C Nothing makes you regret much more noble lenses. Proven on Fujifilm system, it remains a lightweight compact system with excellent portability. As a photographic quality I would say that it is not a compromise between quality and price there is only quality. Do not notice excessive distortion, the colors are very balanced and faithful to the Fuji system, can not mount UV filter But it does not seem to me that you suffer from problems with the backlight. I found it uncomfortable the aperture ring that does not go jerky but it is fluid like that of the focus and therefore you have to always control the aperture visually and not mentally counting the shots. Obviously this is an advantage for the video department, the MAF changes and aperture closing apertures will be silent and no shots. Wide angle at that price? Definitely should be bought.
