Ardeidi (Ardeidae) - Aironi, Garzette, Nitticore, Sgarze, Tarabusi e Tarabusini

Galleria Dedicata alla Famiglia Ardeidae (dal 2012/2014 Ordine Pelecaniformes). Sono trampolieri con zampe e becco lunghi. Il Becco è dritto e robusto, il volo è lento con il collo piegato indietro. Ali larghe e arrotondate, coda corta. Covate da 2 a 6 uova a seconda della specie. La maggior parte si nutre di animali, catturati nelle acque basse o nei terreni limitrofi. Nella stagione riproduttiva alcuni presentano caratteristiche penne lunghe (aigrettes) ed elementi con colorazioni più sgargianti. Per la maggior parte sono coloniali ed alcuni sono notturni. La voce è rauca e smorzata.
