 Campo Imperatore Aq (Abruzzo)

L'alpinista Fosco Maraini lo paragonò, su piccola scala, alla valle di Phari Dzong, coniando il termine di "Piccolo Tibet" che è ancora oggi d'uso comune. Tutto il perimetro meridionale della piana è caratterizzata da una decina di laghetti di forma circolare e modesta profondità la cui origine, meteoritica per alcuni, meteorica e legata all'influenza dell'uomo per altri, è ancora incerta.
