Architettura - Alvar Aalto

La chiesa parrocchiale di Riola di Vergato (Bologna) è inserita nel contesto appenninico sulla sponda destra del fiume Reno. Opera postuma del Maestro finlandese Alvar Aalto, la chiesa di Riola è un'architettura concepita nelle forme rispondenti alla rinnovata liturgia post conciliare. L'architettura interna si distingue per i particolari archi di sostegno chiaroscurali che permettono alla luce di entrare e diffondersi in modo uniforme ed armonico nell'edificio. Inaugurata nel 1978, essa è anche il testamento spirituale del maestro finlandese, ultima e unica sua opera di architettura dell'edificio sacro in Italia.
