San Giuliano Mare di Rimini

San Giuliano Mare di Rimini (per i riminesi la "barafonda") è un'oasi di tranquillità alias "depression zone". Un'area compresa tra il porto canale e il deviatore del Marecchia. In mancanza di un collegamento pedonale/ciclabile con marina centro a sud e Rivabella a nord, questo tratto di lungomare rimarrà inesorabilmente fuori dalle zone battute dal turismo (per gli abitanti è una fortuna), fuori dal caos, appunto un'oasi di tranquillità che nel tempo si è valorizzata grazie a diversi interventi privati e pubblici. Dal sito "sangiulianoamare.com": Il termine "Barafonda" risale alla leggenda per cui sulla spiaggia si arenò la bara di San Giuliano, mentre ricerche più scientifiche sostengono derivi da “barra”, che in geografia fisica vuol dire accumulo di sabbia che si crea davanti la foce d'un fiume, e “fonda”, in quanto bassa rispetto al punto di visuale che era la sede ferroviaria lì vicino.
