2025 Svalbard

Luglio 2025, circumnavigazione delle isole Svalbard con puntata fino all'82esimo parallelo nord, ad incontrare la banchisa polare (pack) avvistando 3 orsi. La crociera polare di 10 gg è stata effettuata sulla nave olandese rinforzata per il ghiaccio "Ortelius" (massimo 108 passeggeri con 53 persone di equipaggio, tra marinai, personale di bordo, guide, medico). Il programma comportava 2 uscite giornaliere su gommone zodiac da 10 posti+driver/guida, sia di più semplice esplorazione navigata di scogliere e baie a fronte di ghiacciai, sia di sbarchi ed escursioni (fino a +450 mt di dislivello, per chi se la sentiva) su isole, in zone preventivamente poste in sicurezza anti-orso dalle guide armate. Su consiglio del Tour Operator KAILAS (col quale ho già viaggiato diverse volte in più paesi, spesso con geologo guida/accompagnatore) ho acquistato il viaggio con largo anticipo, il 5 settembre 2024.
