Nomadi Qashqai - Iran


I Qashqai sono un gruppo di tribù iraniane, composto per lo più da nomadi di etnia turca, ma anche Lur, curda e araba. La lingua principale è un dialetto turco (Oghuz), noto come lingua Qashqai. Originariamente pastori erranti, oggi sono sempre meno, anche a causa delle pressioni del governo, che fin dagli anni '60 li ha spinti a stanziarsi definitivamente. Nonostante molti siano di fatto divenuti sedentari, alcune famiglie perpetuano il loro migrare, seguendo il ritmo delle stagioni e spostandosi due volte l'anno con i loro greggi, alla ricerca di floridi pascoli: dalle montagne a nord di Shiraz, ideali per il periodo estivo, alle terre più calde vicino il Golfo Persico, evitando sempre le grandi città. Si ritiene che la loro migrazione annuale sia la più grande di tutta la Persia. Storicamente le tribù di lingua turca arrivarono in Iran dall'Asia centrale tra il 1000 e il 1100 d.C., costretti ad abbandonare le loro steppe verso nuovi pascoli, in fuga da guerre e miserie. I nomadi sono rinomati per i loro tappeti in lana intrecciata, che in passato vendevano principalmente nel mercato di Shiraz e che si distinguono per l'utilizzo di una lana morbida e pregiata, che assume colori più intensi del normale. Anche se in fortissima diminuzione, diverse comunità resistono allo stanziamento, continuando la vita nomade. Fortunatamente da almeno una decina d'anni alcuni di loro hanno trovato nel turismo una nuova fonte di sostentamento per le loro famiglie e quelle delle comunità vicine.
