Infiorata di Spello


Spello è nota per le sue Infiorate del Corpus Domini, stupende creazioni di decorazione floreale eseguite da veri artisti che le progettano e preparano per mesi usando soltanto elementi vegetali e floreali. Queste stupende creazioni si diramano lungo le strade e le piazze della cittadina ed emanano il loro profumo offrendo uno spettacolo gioioso di colori ai visitatori . Ogni anno si confezionano circa 1500 metri di quadri floreali che ispirati a motivi religiosi, secondo la libera fantasia o riproducendo opere famose , celebrano Gesù e il miracolo eucaristico. L'usanza di addobbare con i fiori il percorso delle processioni religiose ha radici lontane nel tempo e solo alcuni secoli fà si è trasformata in un vero e proprio omaggio alla festa religiosa del Corpus Domini. Di anno in anno queste creazioni si sono trasformate in vere e proprie opere d'arte . Mentre in epoche più antiche i fiori venivano distribuiti alla rinfusa sui selciati successivamente le tecniche si raffinarono fino ad ottenere riproduzioni del vecchio e del nuovo Testamento; ed ecco che allora il petalo umido di rugiada diventa pennellata per realizzazioni di grande fascinio ed eeganza
