Firenze, il giardino dell'Iris

L'Iris è un fiore che ha un particolare significato per Firenze. Nasce spontaneo in tutta la campagna toscana, è chiamato popolarmente "giaggiolo" ma per i fiorentini questo è il "giglio" che da secoli rappresenta la città. A lato del piazzale Michelangelo c'è un giardino in cui vengono coltivate tantissime varietà di specie di iris, e che viene aperto al pubblico per il breve tempo della fioritura (meno di un mese). Di seguito alcun esempi.
