Il Bhutan riserva molte sorprese. E' un paese dove il riso è rosso e dove i peperoncini non sono solo un condimento ma l'ingrediente principale della cucina locale. E' anche una terra profondamente buddhista ricca di monasteri, dove falli giganteschi sono dipinti accanto all'entrata di molte abitazioni per proteggerle dagli spiriti maligni. E' il primo paese in cui la "felicità interna lorda" è considerata più importante del prodotto interno lordo. per legge, almeno il 60% del paese deve rimanere coperto da foreste per le generazioni future. Pur conservando gelosamente le loro tradizioni, il Bhutan non è un museo e i Bhutanesi sono persone educate e vivaci che amano divertirsi.
