![]() | Olympus M.Zuiko ED 17mm f/1.2 Pro Pros: Opening, sharpness, chromatic rendering, af, professional optics in every aspect Cons: Nobody Opinion: A few words to say that it is an optics in everything and for everything professional starting from the construction but above all from the really superlative yield in terms of brightness, sharpness, af, blurry and color. I use it with a Gh5 from which I hardly take it off. I also use an S1H and if you're wondering if the detachment you get from the background is comparable to a 35 f1.4 on ff probably the answer is no but it comes up and the bokeh is great. All-round lens that excels in photos for ceremonies, portrait set and street (thanks to the almost instant and precise af paired with the gh5). I often use it for videos where I appreciate the paste that gives the image and very clean colors. Last consideration: this lens turned my gh5 into a great machine even in poor light where compared to the ff or aps-c the m43 suffered a bit, at f1.2 the sharpness is great and I often managed to bring home shots at 400/800 iso (thanks also to the stabilizer of the gh5) where I was practically in the dark. sent on August 31, 2020 |
![]() | Panasonic S1H Pros: Professional body and functions, image quality, multiple video and photo functions, full colors, file cleaning, excellent stabilization, high file workability (video and photos), multiple video formats, photographic compartment also at the top, vlog and vgamut of professional cameras (varicam), tropicalized (it is a tank), excellent EVF and double screen, illuminatable keys, complete customization. Cons: Weight and cost (but justified), sensitivity of the keys not really immediate. Opinion: sent on December 20, 2019 |
![]() | Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC Pros: Objective sharp, color-correct (aberrations virtually absent), well built (the movement of the focus ring is the best I've ever tried), bright, good bokeh, good value on full frame, ideal for those who make videos (where use predominantly targets in manual). Cons: Optical completely manual, it records the opening in the EXIF ??data, less convenient format aps-c. Opinion: I needed a bright lens to be used mainly for my video with the Canon 5D MII and could not have come better choice, € 400 for a 35mm f1.4 are very few, especially if we consider that the optical characteristics of this lens are really comparable and in some respects better, other L-series lenses that I own. The sharpness is excellent at all apertures, chromatic aberrations are virtually absent and the construction is really well done, the pleasantness of the movement of the focus ring is spectacular (and it is more than any other lens I have ever tried, including L series) and the bokeh is good. In photography are all points for which I have just described with the understanding, however, that perspective is totally manual and as a result there is an obligation to use it with liveview to get a precise focus. Last but not least, it is extremely convenient with a view on full frame 35 mm which are much more usable for 56mm APS-c (400 € for a 35mm f1.4 manual but even if these features are a bargain, 56 mm are less so). sent on March 20, 2012 |
