Manfrotto MT 055 X PRO3 Pros: Robustness and weight Cons: The lack of a bag Opinion: Awaited by a lot and finally bought in the Black Friday of 2018 for 220 euros including head Mhxpro-BHQ2, same head mounted on a lightweight Giotto's 4-section with folding Gampe, long just 43 cm against the 73 of this 055. Having already a light travel easel we needed (we take two, me and my wife..) A second stand stable and heavy to use according to needs. This 055 (aluminum, 3 sections) I think is the definitive tripod. Our Nikon D750 with the Nikon 200-500 F/5.6 is absolutely stable, even with a slight wind. A sensation of solidity never heard before with any other tripod. We were oriented for a 190 but, reflecting well, for a few euros more, this 055 is worth all the expense. Weighing 3 kg, against the 2 kg of our Giotto's travel, but all in all worth the effort. In my opinion the ideal kit, having no budget limits, should be a tripod 4 sections in carbon (short and light) to lug around and a 3 sections in aluminium (heavy) for the rest. sent on November 24, 2018 |
