Reviews of cameras, lenses, tripods, heads and other accessories written by Lella1952

fujifilm_gfx100rfFujifilm GFX100RF

Pros: Image quality, ergonomics, lightness, solidity

Cons: the size of the files, the menu apparently simple but then..., incomprehensible the RAW+JPEG combination to take advantage of the aspect ratios in the machine

Opinion: I state that, I have always found myself in the simplicity of shooting Leica M. Unfortunately, however, age advances and the need for the green dot that confirms the mass in focus led me in 2017 for the first time to approach the medium format of Fuji (gfx50s). A change, traumatic for me, big heavy camera and huge lenses, with hallucinatory menus compared to Leica but, above all and thank goodness, even then with a file of fantastic quality. The release of the GFX100RF intrigued me a lot for its characteristics on paper all to be verified, of course. Well when I had the opportunity, in Castel San Giovanni, to try it ... I must say it was love at first sight, well in short, I felt like I had a Leica M in my hand ... with all the main controls at your fingertips.... a spectacular EVF, crazy and silent ease of shooting... intuitive... all in priority of timing and with the central shutter that makes you forget in part the lack of the stabilizer and then ... and then an amazing continuous and precise autofocus... lightning fast (for the format). In addition, the possibility of using the aspect ratio immediately, I must say, is an extra boost to creativity for me, a little less instead the use of the crop ... I was already used to Leica M frames. The lens, with a much-criticized F4 aperture, on the other hand, for me, is an excellent lens... compact, very incisive, bright, with a really pleasant blur, progressive I would say... being very close to the sensor (1mm) it tends to make the image a bit fighted but, in Adobe LR, with its profile it is corrected very well, and then... you shoot at 20 cm !!, I was used to the 70cm of Leica M. What else can I add? Yes... it's great fun to walk around with the camera around your neck, with shutter speeds 1/500, iso Auto, Dynamic Range Auto, with facial recognition already at a distance of 5 meters... yes of course it's another way of doing Street but I like it I don't get tired, the executions are perfect, the high Iso with Fuji believe me are a problem overcome.... moreover you hardly have to deal with the highlights for the great dynamic range of the sensor, in addition to the colors ... Fuji colors with a superlative tonal range and then... if in the post you are "forced" to Crop... believe me, don't miss anything. You can also take excellent landscape photos complete with a tripod. A few words about the price... sorry but we have FF with 60 megapizzas that cost 5000 to which you need to at least add a lens then.... Certainly it is essential to know what we like to photograph and from there match the camera that best suits our needs

fujifilm_gf32-64_f4Fujifilm GF 32-64mm f/4 R LM WR

Pros: Edge-to-edge sharpness up to f16 max, colorimetry closer to reality, perfect travel 25 - 50

Cons: like all medium format a bit bulky, but in the end not even that much

Opinion: In my opinion the "secret" is right there in the excursion (25-50) which is practically a doubling of focal length in the range of the most used focal lengths, in short, it is not a pushed zoom. no distortion at 25 (32), vignetting absent, chromatic aberrations at Ta absent. It gives you back an impressive detail that makes you want to crop. Yes, it is a bit bulky and heavy but, balanced, you hold it in your hand well, the hand wraps the barrel well and has the controls at your fingertips. a bit cute but, it could also be the only one to use, thinking about the excursion and crop. Vote 10

fujifilm_gf50wrFujifilm GF 50mm f/3.5 R LM WR

Pros: size, image quality

Cons: ahhh... if he had had an extra stop of opening .....

Opinion: I got it after reading several reviews, and because after a few years of 23mm, 32-64, 120 macro, 45, and 63mm, I finally wanted to try this "light pancake". Works. it works great, "fast" in AF, does not distort, and in terms of image quality is slightly below 63mm which for me remains the best. I have not yet become accustomed to the actual 40mm focal length, it is not 35 is not 50, surely the portability has gained without loss in image quality. to buy

fujifilm_gfx50s_iiFujifilm GFX50S II

Pros: sensor, stabilization, high iso yield, plane detachment, dynamic and tonal range

Cons: lack of rings as on the 50S

Opinion: Already happy owners (me and my husband) of the 50S since 2017, what we found in the Mark2 are: - the beautiful, compact and ergonomic body - the stabilization leaves amazed by its effectiveness at low times (try to believe) But above all the difference is seen in the dynamic range and in the tonal range The colors, the shades, are of an impressive progression to be a simple "Super Full Frame" And then.... we want to remember the detachment of the planes that this 4:3 sensor offers ???? The ductility of processing the file is simply surprising even with shots at the limit in terms of iso and light available Clearly now dogs and pigs know it for the Kingfisher or for Vettel in action I hope the next version with an even more performing AF, at least like the 100S. A car that does not see its journey end any time soon.
