![]() | Nikon D500 Pros: Professional body, AF exaggerated level, overhead monitor, high ISO seal. Cons: Nothing except the battery life with live view active. Opinion: I have the Nikon d500 for a few months now and today I feel I can review it. Having paired it with the Nikon d850 I can say I have two machine bodies almost equal in terms of structure. The camera body with DX sensor presents a monstrous quality, positioning itself at the top of the DX format in the Nikon home. Sports a very fast and precise AF even in low light conditions. I tested it at high ISO and I can say that you get exceptional results, especially if the exposure is correct. Being a mainly landscape photographer I think that the screen is a plus tilting, in fact it allows me to use it even in this genre, albeit for very few times. Just on these occasions I realized that the battery life in live view is quite scarce; On the other hand, also the d850, which mounts the same battery model, has the exact same problem. Do not neglect the crop factor for those who own FX optics. The d500 (like any DX body) allows me to have a 300mm to f2.8 thanks to the possession of the 70-200 F 2.8. I highly recommend to those who are passionate about nature and sports photography; I think it was born to shoot in these photographic genres. sent on May 01, 2019 |
