![]() | Leica Q2 Monochrom Pros: Shooting experience, black and white quality, charm Cons: Not received Opinion: I bought my Leica Q2 Monochrom (Reporter version, used but practically as if it were new) because I had been looking for a camera with a monochrome sensor for a long time. This one in particular bewitched me initially with its aesthetics and, after a field test, with a unique shooting experience. The fixed focal length, the monochrome sensor and the essentiality of the controls as well as the compact size have almost cancelled the "presence" of the camera allowing me to focus my attention on what matters most in photography, what to photograph and not how. Choosing a camera with a monochrome sensor may seem like a risky choice, for many it is difficult to share, but for me it was a natural choice as I am passionate about black and white photography. To this must be added that the shots of the Leica Q2 Monochrom have totally convinced me with their quality and above all with their range of tones that goes from very deep blacks to infinite grays capturing details, lights and atmospheres that I could hardly obtain with the toning of color images. The Reporter version, green and without the iconic logo, is also an object with a unique design and this, needless to deny, has a value, especially if, as in this case, the aesthetic choices wanted to pay homage to reportage photography and make the camera very discreet and almost invisible. The unrivalled build quality, the images produced and in general the charm of a brand like Leica so linked to great photography justify the cost. sent on May 24, 2024 |
