![]() | Pentax K-7 Pros: Wonderful feeling with camera body and controls, as usual with Pentax Cons: Manual white balance JPG only, not possible in RAW... for the use I make of it, nothing else Opinion: I have a varied series of digital Pentaxes, from *istDS, to K-M, to K5IIs, to various K3, to K1 and some others... I had the K7 modified IR, with internal 580nm filter. Apart from the manual white balance only in JPG, for the use I make of it it has no defects. A tank, fast enough to my need, comfortable and numerous controls, I use a lot of optics from 1975 to today and I have fun with it. I enjoy it... rarely, seen but IR modified, but I enjoy it... sent on September 07, 2024 |
![]() | Patona Premium D-LI90 Pros: Promoted with flying colours Cons: Compared to the price, nothing Opinion: I bought three, use different Pentax bodies and I have more than one original in addition to these. The difference is felt very little, unlike what happens with other compatible batteries that I also use. Promoted with flying colors. The difference with the "basic" Parona batteries, the yellow ones to be clear, is worth all the price difference between the two sent on February 23, 2023 |
![]() | Pentax SMC DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 ED (IF) SDM Pros: Really sharp, already very good at full aperture. Pleasantly built, quite silent focus. Large constant opening. Cons: It suffers the backlight, not very fast focusing, but considering the age of design of the optics there can be. Opinion: From a month in my hands, attached to a K3 Silver; Bought used in physical store, well, he was right Pasquale to insist almost because I bought it... Very high quality, for a perspective that compared to focal and brightness is not even exaggeratedly heavy or cumbersome, however "feels" and "you see". I appreciate the contrast, the colors, the sharpness and the quiet focus. Pity that the latter is slow for the current canons, but judged for the age of design of the optics I do not think we can complain. Surely, however, it is not a lens for action photos. Aesthetically beautiful, especially with the lens hood mounted! Really a happy purchase, with the only real flaw that suffers from the backlight. Now that I understand it because the prices are stable and do not fall, despite some congenital defect that often affects the engine focus... Blurred fantastic sent on March 04, 2019 |
![]() | Pentax HD FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR Pros: Small, light and very nitodo. Very quiet focus and in my opinion very fast, no means... Cons: For the moment nothing Opinion: After over a year of use I did not find defect any kind. Modest brightness, but in the price range in which it falls I do not think you could want even high brightness... I feel great, and I like it as much as it makes even in colors; not too bright, but beautiful (in this sense I used in the past a K50 with 18/135 and it was an explosion of contrast and live colors...). Bought because when I bought the k1 was not available in store on 24/70, but I am satisfied! Sometimes he misses the 24, but that's fine. Ah, tropicalized, sorry if it's cheap. It has already endured heavy rains and snowfall. Cheap filters. sent on February 14, 2019 |
![]() | Pentax K-3 Pros: Beautiful, comfortable and light. Stabilized, tropicalized and seemingly durable. Very detailed images. Cons: The con is me, because it has a myriad of functions that I will never get to use... Opinion: In the order I had KS1, K50 (the only one I no longer have), K1 and now also K3, the silver edition, found used with 4,600 shots at a crazy price (for those who gave it, for me the so-called stroke of luck...). I use it in most cases with a 55-300 plm, while on the K1 I almost always have the 28-105 from kit, and after a few months of use I am struck by the incredible detail of the photos first. Very vivid colors, very sensitive autofocus even with little light and speed more than good, no matter what! I doubt that many of the critics speak by hearsay, as in the normally made use of a camera the Af of the K3 is enough and advances. I do not think that everyone does sports photography or birds in the air (without adding that this type of photo in addition to the lending machine wants technique that does not improvise...). Great burst. With the 40mm 2.8 limited it becomes tiny and offers an impressive total quality. High ISO? Definitely at the top of the leaderboard among the competitors. Also because, and it must be said once and for all, the Pentax in the instrumental tests turn out to be the only ones that have a perfect response between the isO indicated and the actual ones, when then the Fuji, which have the name of perfect machines in this area, happens that at 12,800 ISO set are actually less than 6,000... Do K3 files have noise? Perhaps less than commonly thought! Defects? Perhaps a few non-original optics, unfortunately! But Pentax has had enough and of excellent quality. It's not true that Pentax has a few optics, unless you need three different optics for brightness for every possible focal point sent on August 14, 2018 |
![]() | Pentax DA HD 55-300mm f/4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR Pros: Small, light, weatherproof, in my opinion very very pleasant to touch materials, very very clear and very fast focusing (as well as very quiet) Cons: Not very bright but it's cheap, so you can not expect more openness and maybe constant ... then it would be neither small nor light nor cheap Opinion: For me, a little gem of materials, of constructive care, of speed af, of weight and encumbrance and of optical quality. Bought used and paid little, I no longer take it out of the second camera I have. Great for stalking, because it does not make any noise in the fast focusing and then the small diameter front lens rarely reflects the light to scare away any prey to photograph. Beautiful even in close ups, good contrast, great sharpness. Excellent focal excursion. Nice colors. In a word, Pentax ... a great Pentax! sent on December 27, 2017 |
![]() | Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro Pros: Focal excursion, considering the price is very sharp at least up to half zoomed. Cons: A little soft as it gets closer to 300 Opinion: Bought again, I can't talk bad about it considering the price. Sure, a 70-200 f2.8 will do much better always and anyway, but there is to spend at least 5 times as much and would not get to 300mm. Considering that we are talking about a cheap lens, I do not want to understand a defect the noisy and relatively slow focus or the not too pushed brightness. But it's certainly light, with good light it's fine (always considering the price) and as for the materials... my specimen until now has not suffered in the least use, and I use it quite often for two and a half years. I have done several portraits also very sharp and without post production. Missing the stabilizer? No problem, I use Pentax. DON'T FORGET WITH THE FF, and sorry if it's cheap. For me it is promoted with very good grades. In judging, in my opinion, one must always consider the membership. If I spend 200 euros I can't claim benefits from 1,200 eute. It would also be macro (not properly, but it is a more this too..). In the meantime I bought the 55/300 PLM Pentax, but this I do not sell, because it covers me the k1 FF, and if not used at the extreme canvases in good light conditions makes very very very well in portraits. For me, for what it costs, I did well to buy it along with the first reflex sent on August 09, 2017 |
![]() | Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro Pros: Focal excursion, considering the price is very sharp at least up to half zoomed. Cons: Very soft over half the zoom Opinion: Bought new, I can not speak badly considering the price. Of course, a 70-200 f2.8 will make it much better always and in any case, but you have to spend at least 5 times as much and it will not reach 300mm. Considering that we are talking about an economical lens, I do not feel a fault in the noisy and relatively slow focusing or the brightness is not too much pushed. But of course it's light, with good light it's fine (always considering the price) and how much the materials ... my specimen so far has not suffered the use, and I have used it quite often for two and a half years. RnrnHo Made different portraits also very sharp and without post production. Is the stabilizer missing? No problem, I use Pentax.rnrnNON DO WE HAVE TO COPE ALSO FF, and sorry if it is too little. RnrnI am promoted to me with very good grades. In judging, in my opinion, one must always consider the band of belonging. I will never be able to compare a 100-euro compact with a 600-euro reflex. If I buy 200 I can not claim performance of 1,200. sent on August 09, 2017 |
![]() | Pentax SMC DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited Pros: Tiny, very clear, excellent colors, full time mf, materials, resistance to flare, a nice blur Cons: If it had been tropicalized ... inconvenient screw cap, slightly noisy and not lightning Opinion: I've got it a few days ago and I can already begin to praise it ... it's my first fixed AF lens, and I adored it from the first day I mounted it ... baby you do not see it, light that you do not feel, very clear even at the edges, excellent focal length, I do a lot of things (just a little 'longish, sometimes, in the landscapes, at least on APSC). It is well contrasted and has properly saturated colors ... I think it will keep me company for a very long time, even if the AF is slightly noisy and not very fast ... but it's a full time mf! RnrnAs the rest , the screw cap and the metal lens hood are beautiful, but as soon as I find a 49mm non-screw cap, I remove both of them, so much so that it does not seem to suffer from reflections. rnrnPer now, I think it was a good purchase from 9.5 to 10. It is not 'tropicalized, but you can not' have everything ... rnrnUpdate ... is a lens for APSC, but mounted on the K1, without crop, perfectly covers the entire frame with a minimum of vignetting agorecoverable, even at full aperture. sent on November 26, 2016 |
![]() | Pentax K-50 Pros: Colors, double ring for speed and aperture, beautiful and look at, comfortable in hand, good resistance to high ISO and tropical conditions and also cheap ... Cons: Maybe the battery that the cold does not hold much ... Too bad it lacks the mirror up function Opinion: I already had a KS1, and I also bought the K50 for the double ring and weather sealing. I have not found flaws in a year and a half of use rather intense and every time, even under heavy snowfall. Beautiful colors, fine details, double ring and simple menu. many direct commands and more the "info" menu of fast settings. HDR Room, the focus motor in the Room, stabilization on the sensor and double ring, also, are somewhat rare commodity in this price range. Great sensor, I think it is the same as the K5 ... which is saying something! IO I can not fault ... noisy Shutter? That maybe so, but for the kind of photos that I do not matter! Missing only the mirror up function ... finally, I find it convenient direct switch to select afs-afc-mf (often just af-mf, and to switch-afs afc, access the menu) rn sent on September 23, 2016 |
![]() | Pentax K-S1 Pros: Handy, very small but it is well in hand, excellent color rendering, good resistance to high ISO, stabilized on the sensor, simple menu and fast to set, beautiful viewfinder mode dial illuminated programs. The LEDs do not bother me. Cons: Non-tropical conditions, lacks the dual ring to speed and aperture. Opinion: I have almost two years, KS1, it was my first SLR and I'm almost fully satisfied. Missing only tropicalization and the double ring to speed and aperture, in fact I added a K50 after six months. But I continue to use it with satisfaction, for the excellent sensor that returns highly detailed photos, saturated colors and is well stabilized (except that the stabilization on the sensor produces "weird" effects in video mode when for example you walk with the camera in hand, but I do not do video, so ... still happens that the subject remains in focus and "the world turns"). I find that all parts are really necessary, absolutely nothing, for amateur use, but also quite thorough. And it's tiny, smaller than a bridge. Burst more than decent, autofocus on camera engine, exceptionally low price. Also good performance by raising the ISO. Perfect for a night use the mode dial illuminated programs. Missing the upper display, but I do not feel the need. Splendid the viewfinder. Tornandor the video function, I think stabilized optics solve the problem ... sent on September 23, 2016 |
![]() | Nikon Coolpix P330 Pros: Compact, light, beautiful to look at and good photos to be for a compact, excellent in low light. Cons: In raw it takes too long between shots and the other, and not dependent on the speed of the card ... menu too cumbersome. Manual focus ???? try this ... Opinion: I state that I come from Pentax digital SLR and I chose a compact that would allow me to use it even with all the manual controls for the outputs read ...
