![]() | Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Pros: Objective of good quality. Solid construction and fairly accurate built with materials of good quality. Weight and very compact. Interesting and decent yield macro function. Optical quality pretty good. Goal is not very bright (but normal for the price class) and MAF not exceptionally fast. Price slightly higher. Cons: Discrete elongation during zooming. Varifocal lens which entails the need for realignment of the MAF to vary the focal length with repercussion on the speed of MAF species in AF-C. Other limits are the rotation of the front lens while zooming in which impairs the use of filters such as circular polarizers and the lack of a ring attachment to the tripod (not available even as an option), although in truth a lot of weight content allows for easy free-hand and not excessively unbalanced the body-goal. Opinion: Lens with decent yield already at room temperature, is at the center than at the edges and on almost the entire zoom range (up to 250-260 mm), and up to 300 asi softens a little. In conjunction with the extender Ec-14 shows no signs of excessive decay of the image, except that the maximum focal length. Also recommended to those who have a relatively small body as the entry level Olympus (E-400-410-420-450, E-510-520, E-600-620) better though if equipped with an Image Stabilizer. sent on March 25, 2012 |
![]() | Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 SWD Pros: Objective-quality dust-proof and splash water. Very rugged and accurate built with quality materials. Weight and dimensions. Very good optical quality, bright lens and AF-S MAF fast enough. Cons: to detect a discrete elongation during zooming and the fact that it is in fact of a varifocal lens, which implies the need for a realignment of the MAF varies whenever the focal length is affected in part on the speed of MAF species in AF- C. Price just a little high. Opinion: Goal by the excellent performance already at room temperature, is at the center than at the edges and the entire zoom range. In conjunction with the extender Ec-14 shows no signs of decay image. Raccomandabilissimo for those with the appropriate body (E-3, E-5 and E-30), preferably combined with battery grip, to have a good balance. However, since the weight is not excessive is also well suited for use freehand. Very good resistance to flare, good minimum distance of MAF. sent on March 21, 2012 |
![]() | Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye Pros: Objective quality professional dustproof and splash. Very rugged and accurate made almost entirely of metal. Compact size and weight. Cons: To detect the presence of even a not excessive amount of CA, especially at maximum aperture, but all summed almost inevitably present on this type of objectives. The size and weight while not excessive does not recommend use with entry level bodies. Opinion: Optics of particular use to use in a thoughtful to avoid falling into banality and repetitiveness. Preferable, but not essential, the combination with a machine body proper (E-3, E-5 and E-30) to have a good balance. Used properly leveled and combined with a good program of defishing may be interesting to use in confined spaces and panoramic, provided some compromises and time to devote to p. sent on March 21, 2012 |
![]() | Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 SWD Pros: The purpose of professional quality, dust-proof and splash. Very rugged and accurate built with quality materials. Weight. Very good optical quality, bright lens and MAF fast. Fair price. Cons: Nothing to report except the size and weight, which although not excessive when compared to the brightness and class of the product, we do not recommend using with the entry level bodies. Opinion: Subject raccomandabilissimo for those with the machine body proper (E-3, E-5 and E-30) to have an excellent balance, but sometimes personally use it in case of need and without any problem even with an E-520. It 'pretty much the handyman professional class of Holiday Olympus to meet the average 80-90 per cent of the general photographic needs. It is distinguished by the excellent optical performance already at room temperature, is at the center than at the edges and almost the entire range of focal lengths, that saves a slight (but physiological and correctable via SW in pp) 12 mm distortion that fades immediately and almost entirely already at 13-14 mm. Very good resistance to flare, excellent MAF minimum distance of just 25 cm at maximum LF 120 mm equivalent to almost one macro. Note that the front lens does not rotate during zooming which allows to use in an optimal manner possible filters and / or polarizers. sent on March 21, 2012 |
![]() | Olympus 1.4x EC-14 Pros: Subject of professional quality, waterproof construction very solid and cured made entirely of metal. Cons: Nothing to report except the price maybe, given the lack of alternatives on the market, is to be considered a little high but overall adequate to the overall quality of the product and in line with similar products of other manufacturers. Opinion: Subject raccomandabilissimo and almost obligatory in the kit lenses for 4/3. I use it regularly in combination with telephoto zoom Olympus ZD 50-200 SWD (but also with Sigma 150 Macro) which allows me to have a focal length from 70 to 283 (140-566 equivalent) with 3.5/4.9 brightness, relatively compact and lightweight and a performance with virtually no loss of quality already at room temperature. sent on March 21, 2012 |
