![]() | Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM Pros: crisp, zoom that doesn't extend, price, versatile great for stabilized videos Cons: af not very precise, flare, despite 2.8 a little dark Opinion: I bought this new goal, from a foreign site, paying it only 115 euros in 2013. I replaced it at 18-55 nikon on a d3200 and then on a 7200 instead of the 18-105 released as standard by reselling them. I have to say that compared to the optics, low range nikon, this is much higher and surprised me in terms of construction quality (very robust, well done and seems to have a much higher quality goal) and in terms of price. I used the lens 7 years ago and then resell it a few days ago (I resold it at the same purchase price), it was a worthy companion, and it is still as new! I would like to start by pointing out that I had the most up-to-date version, all in smooth plastic and rubber and not the one with that velvet-like one that comes out shiny black. Since the zoom does not extend, it is possible to make nice macros (without shadows) very close, the colors are (in my opinion) a little cold, in the backlight it has little resistance to flares and suffers a little aberration but overall solvable in PP. Indoors it is perfect, for parties, almost without ever using flash. Sometimes I encountered problems with the not very precise AF, especially on the 7200, very rarely did not really focus returning an error (maybe it was also due to the firmware of the machine). Overall excellent goal, I sold it only to take an intermediate, more versatile lens (sigma 17-70) since it only reaches 50mm and I prefer not to change continuously. sent on October 16, 2020 |
