![]() | Canon EOS R100 Pros: Price-quality, compactness, lens compartment Cons: A bit slow, but at these prices.. Opinion: The Canon R100 is a mirrorless clearly designed for beginners, but as soon as you pick it up you understand that there is much more technology inside than you expect from an entry-level model. It is light, practical and immediate: just turn it on and you are immediately ready to shoot without too many thoughts. Trying it came back to me when I bought my first reflex, the Canon 1100D. With that, however, it was a completely different approach: you really had to learn how to manage the car, because there were few automatisms. It was almost a school, it forced you to understand the technique, to rehearse, to make mistakes. The R100, on the other hand, does a lot on its own. The autofocus is fast and accurate, it recognizes subjects, the exposure is almost always perfect and there is no need to "fight" to bring home the shot. For those who just want to shoot well right away, it's a big plus. At the same time, precisely because the machine facilitates you so much, for a beginner it can be less formative. It gives you immediate results, yes, but it risks making you grow a little less on a technical level because it tends to "cover" many mistakes. In summary: the Canon R100 is a good choice for those entering the world of mirrorless and want beautiful photos without complications. It's pleasant to use, modern, and more capable than it looks. However, from those who already have some experience, it is immediately noticeable that it is a machine that aims to facilitate, not to teach. And this is both its strong point and its limit sent on December 10, 2025 |
