Reviews of cameras, lenses, tripods, heads and other accessories written by Malkyk

tamron_28-105afTamron AF 28-105mm f/4-5.6 IF

Pros: Light weight.Fast autofocus.Cheap to buy used.

Cons: Softish for landscape work.

Opinion: Bought this lens from a reputable seller on ebay for ?27.00 all in.Suprised with the quality for an old lens.No disernable zoom creep.Usefull f stop ring albeit a little fidly to use.Very sharp for close up/macro work.I am using it on my trusty Nikon D70.I have a later Tamron 28-200 i also use and the results are very similar but a lot heavier to carry around.Im only an amateur and dont print photos above a4 size so i wont go into technicalities like crop factors -fringing -flare -barrel distortion etc.I think the millions of amateurs around the world like me just need a non tech review of the lens we have or thinking about buying.thanks for reading my rambling post.Malkyk.
