![]() | Nikon AF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 D Pros: Versatility (focal range, zoom), quality, weight, size, price Cons: brightness, loss of quality at TA at extreme focal lengths (especially at the edges) Opinion: The ultimate travel goal, especially for those who have to carry it on their shoulders. It does, on its own, what 3/4 fixed lenses do, not only for being a zoom with a large excursion (28-105), but also for being an "almost" macro. But the beauty is that it reaches a good quality at all focal lengths, losing only around 105. A TA pulls a bit off at the edges, but that's a common flaw. In the center, however, it is nice and clear. In the exteriors it is therefore really a marvel, while in the interiors it can have difficulties, due to the diaphragm that does not open more than 3.5. A good companion of his could therefore be a 20 f 2.8 or similar, which would allow him to add what little he cannot do alone, if he feels the need. But words are of little use, just look at the photos in the gallery to realize what he can do. Probably the best value purchase I've ever made. sent on April 15, 2025 |
