canon_28_f1-8Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM

Pros: Bright, low cost, light, AF lightning-fast and precise, good blur, a blade if you close a bit (except the edges)

Cons: Chromatic aberrations, soft to TA, distortion (correctable with LR)

Opinion: Bright lens that can give great satisfactions from the point of view of Reportagistico and portrait set; Use with EOS 6d. I also tried it on APS-C (50d) But it didn't give me a good feeling at the focus level mainly. You have to know it and it requires to approach the subjects and to move very in phase of shooting and composition. This at the moment is my focal point most used for the double reportage because it offers the possibility to include also what is around the subjects, with a pleasant blur. Distorts and vignette a bit but nothing incorregible in post.

canon_50_f1-4Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

Pros: Size and low weight, AF speed, sharpness from f/2 up, price

Cons: AF inconsistent, mild chromatic aberrations, soft to TA

Opinion: Excellent lens that returns satisfactory shots, if you take the fire. By focusing subjects closely there are no problems, but from the distance often cane the focus. Already sent to calibrate in assistance and done the test of the F/b focus but seems not to suffer. However in the portraits "large" (more than half a bust) often (a 30% of the photos), focusing with the center point on the face, cane the focus and maybe puts to focus closer or farther (there is no constant) species at large openings. I use a 6d. With manual focus you solve problems but it is not suitable for photos that require speed and precision of focus.

canon_6dCanon 6D

Pros: Size and weight content, excellent image quality, af one shot "precise and lightning (central point, the others I have not tested), wireless, noise, battery life.

Cons: Shutter speed max 1/4000, automatic white balance tending to yellow (maybe it's a defect of my model).

Opinion: Excellent compromise between quality and advantages of full frame and price; a reliable, lightweight and professional image quality machine. Personally I use it in 90% of cases with the central focus and without the need for very fast burst shots and I have never had problems. rn The battery has a disproportionate duration compared to other reflex used and has never made me regret the investment made.
