Pros: WR,OIS, FOCAL EXCURSION.

Cons: IMAGE QUALITY.

Opinion: I purchased the 16 80 for my X-T3 in early December but the lens although updated to firmware 1.02 had obvious micromosso problems with active stabilizer in combination with mechanical shutter and very poor sharpness to all focals and openings so much that I suspected that the lens was defective due to too many obvious malfunction problems. I decided to contact the shopkeeper who accepted the return with replacement on the trust. The second 16 80, always updated to firmware 1.02 did not present the aforementioned malfunctions so finally I could start testing it really. From the beginning I noticed that image quality in general is good or just enough by comparing it with the photos taken with the 18 55 that won hands down. More noticeable distortion, more noticeable vignetting and above all from 55 to 80 poor image quality even in the center of the frame. Having bought it just for those 25 mm more the disappointment was so much. I recently took a trip between Myanmar and Thailand where I only took with me on 16 80 and in these days that I am looking at the photos the limits mentioned above have been highlighted in all the shots taken at the various focal points and diaphragms confirming my disappointment. With all this I photographed magnificent places and I like the photos but not in terms of quality. I sold the 16 80 to the shopkeeper and bought back on 18 55 receiving thankfully an excellent economic treatment. UPDATE 21/10/2020 On the fourth attempt I finally found a copy of the Fuji 16 80 that works as I expected it to work since the release of this, long-awaited, slow one. Above you will find my review that demolishes this lens in comparison with Fuji 18 55 but instead this time my reviews will be to weave its praises. Fujifilm wand for the lack of attention put into the quality control of this lens because to find a properly functioning one it was like winning a third to the lot considering that all the copies I handled seemed to have an impeccable construction. Updated to the latest version of firmware 1.05 finally the stabilizer works well without interfering with the image quality that honestly seems very good both in the center of the frame and at the edges on all focal points with the best that gets to f 5.6 - 9. Doing trials on tripod comparing it with the 18 55 that I still possess there is a clear advantage of sharpness and above all almost total absence of chromatic aberrations that are instead very intrusive on 18 55. Considering that it is a zoom with a wide focal excursion I find it a great travel companion both (finally for image quality) for compactness for lightness and tropicalization. The price remains high but if taken in kit you take home at the right value. I use it on the X-T3 with which it balances perfectly.
