![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Pros: Lightness, size Cons: chromatic aberrations and difficulty focusing on distant subjects Opinion: Negligible cost during black friday offer I could not fail to take it. From 2.8 onwards a really good lens, sharp and precise. At 1.8 it works well for subjects not far away, but in backlight it suffers from huge chromatic aberrations and loses a lot of detail. It is a bit difficult to focus on distant subjects and at full aperture you notice some focusing errors. Shooting with a 6d and AF set to center point. Probably with mirrorless the focus problems may not occur. Overall a good lens sent on January 01, 2025 |
![]() | Canon EOS M5 Pros: AF speed, possibility to use the touchscreen to position the MAF point, sharp viewfinder, customizable ring nuts, possibility of speedbooster adapter for EF optics, compatibility with Canon Optical Park, practically pocketable with EF m 22mm Cons: Does not hold up well the high ISO, lacks focus on eye, few lenses EF-M Opinion: Light, ideal for travel (especially where it is not possible to carry bulky hand baggage). With the 22mm it finds its raison d'être. Nothing to envy to reflex APSC, but does not stand against the 6d. Compared to this produces larger files but noisier already from the 400 ISO. It is compatible with EF lenses. I'm also trying the ef m2 Viltrox to adjust the lenses I already had and reduce focal and increase brightness and it seems to behave very well with canon lenses, less with Tamron. But this is to be attributed to the adapter. Video compartment I don't know why I don't use it. sent on June 08, 2019 |
