![]() | Fujifilm XF 14mm f/2.8 R Pros: optical qualities (contained distortion, sharpness, micro contrast), footprint and weight Cons: If you really want: the lampshade, too cumbersome for my taste (which at first I modified, not finding an alternative to those screw on the market and which I recently replaced with Haoge LH-X13 in bayonet metal); the diaphragm diaphragm diaphragm diaphragm diaphragm too lasa (it is a limit of all the XF Fuji optics in my possession) and therefore easy to change inadvertently. Opinion: It's a little gem. At the same level as the Nikon 20mm f/1.8 (except of course the stops it pays in brightness). Being the focal 21mm equivalent among my favorites and having chosen to switch from Nikon FF to Fuji to reduce weights and clutter, I am fully satisfied. With the 23 f/1.4 and the 56 f/1.2 is a fixed part of the "travel kit" (actually, more often on the XT-2 - on which it is perfectly balanced - than in the bag). The only "limit" is the brightness (f/2.8) that in night shots or interiors of architecture imposes a statist not to raise too much ISO ("problem" solved with the excellent 16mm f/1.4, however much heavier/bulky). For its predominant use, I prefer it in any case as it is, rather than an f/2 (or, never, an f/1.4) larger size. With the 18-55, it is in fact a fundamental part of my "landscape kit", also thanks to the same lampshade / diameter filters that further reduces weights and equipment (reason that made me prefer at the time to 10-24, with which - by the way - I could not use the Le seven5 in the low focal points). After almost 4 years of intensive use (he made all the main trips), I consider it indispensable for the way I photograph. I'd take it right away. It will stay with me even when Fuji decides to put the coveted XF 16-80mm F/4 on the market. At that point, for travel and landscaping I will need nothing else. sent on November 19, 2017 |
