fujifilm_8-16_f2-8wrFujifilm XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR

Pros: Minimal distortion, sharpness, excursion, build quality.

Cons: Weight

Opinion: Bought after giving away the splendid 10-24 that has accompanied me for years, it immediately impressed me for image quality. Very sharp, no impressive distortion, but that you pay in terms of weight. It's a little monster even on the XH1, I think on an XT1-2-3 it's really huge. The focus dial is fluid and really precise. The feeling to the touch is a high-quality lens. You can't put filters unless you apply, but personally I don't care. Fundamental lens for lanscape, but also thanks to the extension to 16 you can play a little. I have yet to test it for astronomical night photos, but seeing the yield on poor lighting, I expect great things. Definitely the price is very high and in line with the latest Fuji releases, but the quality is really very high.

Pros: Photo quality, stabilizer, ergonomics, balance with bulky lenses, robustness, finishes, jog, lightning AF, silent shutter, second screen for information

Cons: Big body (if you like me from x-t1), battery life

Opinion: I state that I've been using it for a few days, but it really impressed me. I come from the x-t1 and so it is obvious that for me it is a "quantum" jump, but besides this the x-h1 is really an excellent mirrorless. The pros are those listed and celebrated, in my opinion rightly, in many articles and hand on that I read before buying it. From a constructive and design point of view, nothing to complain about: comfortable to hold, excellent finishes and assembly. It gives a feeling of really reassuring robustness. Spectacular image quality, really lightning AF and thanks to the jog it's really easy to select the precise point, the stabilizer helps a lot, both in the video and in the photos. Very quiet shutter, very useful if you do street. Hypersensitive shutter button, you have to take your hand, but as soon as you do it, it's a pleasure and you shoot snaps ... and the battery goes down. As usual the battery does not have a very long life (it would not be bad if Fuji worked on this front, the technologies are there), I took the Power Boost forare at 1000 shots for travel. The problem of the body "so" big (for me ex X-T1), is rapidly disappearing and you do not notice if you use it with the most cumbersome lenses: trying it with 100-400 is perfectly balanced. rn
