sony_fe85_f1-4gm_ii Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM II

Pros: Stellar sharpness, weight and bulk, colors, blurry, construction.

Cons: On a7III, autofocus not really a sliver, 77mm filters, maybe the price.

Opinion: Bought it because I wanted that something more than the Sony 85mm f/1.8 (needless to say I found that something, and even more). The sharpness of this lens exceeds any imagination, I was able to crop up to 0.5 mpx already at f/1.4 without loss of detail starting from the 42mpx of the a7rIII, crazy; practically it is an 85-300, closing further does not give advantages in terms of sharpness. Neutral, full-bodied colors, without any dominant. Blurred and Oscar-worthy dynamics, in the sense that it is really cinematic. The construction is solid as per GM series. I would have preferred 67mm filters like all the other GM lenses in my possession, but it is easily resolved with a step down that does not cause vignetting at all. The weight and bulk are excellent for a lens of this class, but it happens to me, at least in the evening, to have to increase the shutter speed to avoid blur, I also solved it by installing a battery grip with which weight and length are balanced very well. I haven't tried it yet on other cameras besides a7III and a7rIII, on these the autofocus is not a splinter, I think it's because of the size and weight of the lenses (in any case much much faster than the previous series). I am very happy with the purchase, my wallet a little less ;)
