![]() | Sigma 50mm f/1.2 DG DN Art Pros: Compactness, low price in modern times, high sharpness but now it is the norm. Cons: Made anonymous, usual cartooning and the usual horrendous caps. Opinion: Overall it's certainly a great lens. Relatively low price for an f1.2 in modern times with crazy prices. Apart from the aperture, the performance is identical to all recent Sigma. Exaggerated sharpness, lots of contrast and closed shadows. Blurred that in some conditions makes the colors with a fluorescent effect, double lines and double borders a little less marked than the 85mm. By now in Sigma they have a "mold" and they all come out like this. Even the small fixed C series are identical except for the less extreme openings. To be clear, it is not like the first 35mm f1.4 Art and the first 35mm f1.2 Art where the differences were considerable not only for the aperture. Returning to the 50mm f1.2, certainly in some situations the f1.2 can give something more. If you have the recent 50mm f1.4 I wouldn't make the most outlay change. If, on the other hand, you don't have a bright 50mm and you think about f1.4, you can think about f1.2. Grana permitting. In conclusion, it is a 9/9.5 grade goal. It should be taken for a main use at f1.2, then everyone does as they want. They are only personal opinions for the type of photo and use that everyone makes of it. sent on September 18, 2025 |
