![]() | Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM Pros: Excellent razor sharp, even at full aperture (f2.8). Stabilizer excellent. Auto focus quickly and accurately in optimal light. Cons: Auto focus very inaccurate in light conditions not optimal (eg shots to church with or without flash). Opinion: The lens Sigma 17-50 f / 2.8 offers incredible loudness already in TA (f2.8), pity about the inaccuracy of self focus, which in less than optimal lighting conditions, tends to err very, very easily ( ironically, the lens Canon 18-55 f3.5-f5.6 IS II has proven much more reliable in this respect), so that in the next few days I will replace the Sigma with the more expensive Canon EF-S 17-55mm f / 2.8 IS USM. I hope that the new optical maintains the same color rendition and sharpness of Sigma 17-50.rnrnPs. I changed two Sigma lenses for MAF problems. The auto focus of the first example, was so imprecise as well err 2 of 3 shots in daylight. The second specimen presents problems only when the ambient light is such as to employ ISO 800/1600 or Flash. sent on January 02, 2015 |
