Sony A7C Pros: Lightness, versatility, portability, excellent image quality, good operating speed, eternal battery, very fast autofocus in almost all areas, good noise management at high iso, flip-up screen. Cons: The joystick is missing, the front dial is missing, the few customizable buttons make it a bit cumbersome to set, viewfinder too small, external stabilization is needed for moving videos, the touch screen is only for setting the AF and not for the menus. Opinion: As a neophyte it is my first camera, taken mainly for travel reportage and used in combination with the Sony 28-60 of the kit, the Sony 24-105 and the Sigma 60-600. It does almost everything you ask of it very well. The autofocus is always very fast on human subjects, and it had difficulty (sometimes) only birds in the middle of the branches or subjects in situations of very low contrast and low light. For slow, street or landscape scenes it is a gem, light and pocket-sized, you carry it with you everywhere and it doesn't weigh on you. The jpegs are already excellent as the camera produces them, but there are still 10 totally customizable profiles and another 10 pre-set by Sony. If you intend to use it with fixed lenses or equipped with aperture rings, you won't even miss the front ring, since you will only need the shutter ring anyway. Stabilization in the photographic field has saved me more than once, even if I had made mistakes involuntarily or in a hurry the timing, but in the video field, you will need an external stabilizer if you are moving. For more dynamic situations, it suffers from the cumbersomeness in making the correct settings (few dials and few customizable buttons), with electronic shutter suffers the rolling shutter if you try to pan in motorsport (but it locks and holds the subjects well) and sometimes in birdlife with the telephoto lens, to lock on to the subject it makes you sweat a little or suddenly loses it. Let's say that it was not born for this, but some good shots even if suffering, still allow us. In conclusion, if you are looking for a light and concealable camera to travel to always carry with you, where the photography will be mainly landscape or human subjects, without having to be too quick to change the settings of the camera to adapt it to the scene, the A7C is a great product at a great price and personally I am very satisfied with the purchase. sent on 19 Aprile 2026 |
