![]() | Panasonic S5 Pros: Dynamic range, ergonomics, image quality, Dual native ISO, tropicalization, stabilization, advanced functions. Cons: Unintuitive AF, burst Opinion: Let me start by saying that I am not a professional, but an amateur photographer. I switched to this camera after using a more modern Canon EOS R10 (apsc) for a year, which certainly had a better autofocus and burst, however useless if you don't practice photographic hunting. Despite its qualities, the plasticky construction, the absence of stabilization and the bad images in low light conditions led me to the purchase of this camera which to date in 2024 I find very valid. For my uses (landscapes, portraits, street, travel and children), in reality, this S5 has no real flaws. Learning to manage the autofocus well this turns out to be good enough for all my uses and, even if not at the levels of the S5ii or other competitors, I have never regretted the purchase. The build quality is excellent, the ergonomics and the position of the numerous customizable buttons immediately give an excellent feeling. The sensor is extraordinary, dual ISO and magnificent containment of digital noise, very performing stabilization. I used it in the rain and in the cold, never any problems. I find the High res image functions at 96 mpx and the live composite very comfortable and useful in many contexts. Lately I've also been discovering its qualities in the video sector, which is as excellent as the photographic one. To date, I consider this machine a best buy. sent on January 03, 2024 |
