fujifilm_xt30_ii Fujifilm X-T30 II

Pros: Compactness, File Quality, Dials

Cons: Ergonomics, Q key position, Fn key feel, Autofocus

Opinion: I had this camera for several years, and it accompanied me in the transition from passionate photography to professional photography. I was precisely for this reason "forced" to change it, as it lacked some essential characteristics in the work. As a body to carry around every day or on the go, however, it proved to be fantastic: perfect size to keep it over the shoulder even for many hours, not only with pancake lenses, but also with small light zooms (used with Sigma 18-50 2.8). Exceptional files, both JPG, practically ready to use, and very malleable RAW, all with simply excellent film simulations (I recommend you not to use the pre-set ones to create your own in the menu). Very good video quality, but limited to 8-bit and without stabilization. Another point in favor is undoubtedly the ring dedicated to shooting modes: the last Fuji in this range to have it, replaced in later versions by a ring dedicated only to simulations. A feature that, on its own, makes it preferable to the more modern X-M5, X-T30 II and X-T50. On the negative front there is undoubtedly the position of the Q button, the feedback is almost imperceptible, it happens to press it involuntarily during shooting sessions and, when you need it, you want to press it voluntarily you do not perceive its travel. The same goes for the Fn button. Reliable autofocus in good light conditions, but decidedly poor and unreliable in the dark. The ergonomics are also quite poor, the grip is really tight and the use of additional grips or Cage becomes essential in my opinion. Overall it's a great camera (with a wide range of compatible lenses). It has its trade-offs, but they don't affect its overall quality in any way.
