![]() | Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro Pros: Fast and quiet AF, lightweight and compact, beautiful color rendering, value for money. Cons: Loss of detail at medium to long distance edges, minimum focusing distance close to the lens Opinion: Excellent entry level to approach the Macro, light and well built. Metal body, internal focus, very fast AF. Suitable for shooting videos. At close range the microdetail is of excellent quality. Good color rendering. The minimum focusing distance, just 2.5 cm from the lens, can be a problem. It is also good as an all-rounder, but on the medium-long distance it tends to lose detail at the edges. Well made the dedicated hood, equipped with thread for applying filters. sent on April 24, 2023 |
![]() | Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro Pros: Lightweight, small size, minimum focusing distance less than stated, overall excellent lens Cons: Slow AF, especially at close range, noisy Opinion: Objective purchased by chance because of the excellent price to which it was proposed to me, it proved to be very useful for my needs. The lens is excellent, free of flare, AC and distortion, vignetting practically absent already at TA. Extremely sharp, it provides files rich in detail. The body is made of metal, but the lens remains light (about two ounces) and small. The weak point of this lens is the AF, in general quite slow especially at close range. In that case to be used only with immobile subjects and identifying the specific area to be focused. Overall I am extremely satisfied and unexpectedly it is the lens I am using the most, very versatile and manageable. The alternative for the same price on the new is the Sigma 70mm Macro, which weighs three times and is much more bulky. Excellent purchase opportunities on used cars, where this lens, perhaps little known and considered, is at very attractive prices. If weaknesses are not a problem, I can only recommend it, it is a best buy. sent on May 28, 2022 |
![]() | Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Pros: Sharp, lightweight, robust, AF, wide focal range, stabilized Cons: Dark, high price if not purchased bundled. Opinion: Purchased with a 6400 kit after seeing a comparison with two other Sony APS-C zooms, the 18-105mm and the 55-210mm on which he won hands down on both. He is a great all-rounder, the images he produces are very sharp and well detailed. In my opinion it is better to take it only if purchased in a bundle, otherwise at the same price you can find other all-rounder optics certainly better and brighter at Sigma or Tamron. sent on February 25, 2022 |
![]() | Sony A6400 Pros: Robust and well made, ultra-precise and ultra-fast AF, compact with good ergonomics, ISO amplitude, Imaging Edge Desktop Cons: Battery life, price, lack of stabilizer, viewfinder, on/off software every now and then "slow" Opinion: Purchased in December 2021 new with the 18-135mm, it went to replace an economical and excellent Sony a5100. The impression was immediately very positive, the machine is built very well, it is compact, ergonomically well made. The AF is extremely accurate and fast, the RAW files are of excellent quality. I also found the Imaging Edge Desktop software package excellent, with which I manage the 6400 via USB cable connected to a MacBook Air M1. The control via Remote is great and Edit and Viewer are also very well done. In some cases with Edit you can avoid using Lightroom. Regarding the defects: every now and then the machine when it is turned off or turned on "thinks" before resetting or activating. It is a problem / limit that I also found on other specimens before buying mine, so I think it is a defect of this model. I'm just saying that the 5100 was more responsive in on/off. I find the viewfinder mediocre, it doesn't drive me crazy. I use it little and only if the excessive light makes it difficult for me to use the display. The battery perhaps lasts a little, and considering the price the 6400 could have been equipped with an internal stabilizer on the sensor. The last two are specifications that can be found on the 6600, but whose price in my opinion does not make sense for what it offers. Overall it is a car that I really like and that I am satisfied with. sent on February 25, 2022 |
![]() | Tokina Firin 100mm f/2.8 Macro FE Pros: Robust and well made, small size, lightweight, very precise AF, sharp lens and with vivid colors. Nice bokeh. Cons: Noisy AF, low light focusing difficulty. Opinion: Solid and well-built lens, very sharp lens, excellent microcontrast and excellent color rendering, creamy and uniform bokeh. The AF is responsive and quite fast even at close range. The focus motor is a bit noisy, but nothing annoying. For the same expense I preferred it to the Sigma 70mm. Alternative lenses with similar focal lengths are Sigma 105mm and Sony 90mm which cost about twice as much. sent on February 24, 2022 |
