canon_eos_rpCanon EOS RP

Pros: Very small for a ff, very light, file quality, versatile, high iso, ergonomic, economical, portability, lens park, autofocus, possibility of using used EF lenses

Cons: A bit slow burst, it doesn't have the double slot, battery, really exaggerated cost of RF L lenses

Opinion: The Rp is a truly unique camera. Paid new on offer 640 euros, lighter than many apsc and micro 4/3, full frame and with a quality of the files, if not squeezed to the bone, of the highest level. Ok, it has some important flaws such as the battery, the lack of the double slot and the somewhat slow burst, but you can do everything the same and with great quality. I also use it for nature photographs and in the end I take some good shots out of it. For portraits it lacks nothing, for landscapes the same, for the street it is the death of it, just maybe it is not really suitable for weddings and events given the battery and the lack of the double slot, but for the rest the fun is guaranteed. And then let's say it clearly that it is worthwhile to spend money on quality objectives rather than on larger supermegacle machines. Obviously I speak as an amateur. Work is something else. Excellent high ISO resistance, all buttons and dials in the right place, the possibility of mounting Canon lenses both ef and rf (unfortunately at exaggerated costs), the usual very simple Canon menus, excellent autofocus and being a mirrorless you can shoot in af with any aperture (which in some ways makes it more versatile even than a 5d m4), you put it in a handbag (I pretty much always have it behind me), it has a firm grip, a nice big viewfinder, Canon colors and files and you always have an ff with you. For travel, family, walks and adventures of all kinds, landscapes, street and portraits it is the perfect camera - and thanks to the excellent af you can also have fun with some nature photos, moreover with the possibility of cropping 1.6 in the camera with very decent 10 megapixel output files (it means that with the 100-400 you can shoot at 1280 mm f11 with autofocus, hello). Everyone should have one. Brilliant!

fujifilm_x-t20Fujifilm X-T20

Pros: Compactness, dials and controls, film profiles, photo quality, no or minimal need for post-production, good autofocus, type of adjustable screen (I hate those that open on one side as they are fashionable today), excellent optics, beautiful mainly metallic.

Cons: Lack of tropicalization, a bit of a poor grip

Opinion: If it were also tropicalized and with a little more grip it would be the ultimate camera. This grip thing is not a tragedy of course, but being used to the Canon m5 I find this one of the x-t20 less firm, but still all in all good. Otherwise, the x-t20 is a camera that I love and get along wonderfully with. The beauty of jpegs is truly incredible. I also shoot in raw because I prefer to make a little adjustment to the exposure in some cases or to change the film profile, but I often do all this directly in the camera very quickly and that's enough to have absolutely perfect colors and grays. Only the Canon 6d gave me jpegs of this level or almost but with almost half a kilo more weight. Auto white balance is almost always ideal. In portraits, the complexion is absolutely spectacular, especially with the proneg hi, but also in certain situations with Astia, Provia and Classic (it depends a lot on the type and direction of the light). In landscaping, Velvia, Provia and sometimes Astia have everything you need for ideal colours and contrasts. Black and white is the most beautiful I've ever seen. For fauna and birds, another genre I love, I still use the Canon because I don't have Fuji lenses for the purpose yet. In this regard, the optical park, even the third-party one, offers a wide variety of choice, of excellent quality, even a bit for all budgets and dedicated specifically to Fuji, without the need for adapters to have optics as excellent as they are oversized. Only Fujifilm can offer this peculiarity in the aps-c world and it is one of the reasons that led me to buy an x-t20. The autofocus works well. Also the resistance to high iso is great up to 800 iso, at 1600 still good, beyond that I don't go. Finally, it's almost as beautiful as my legendary Canon New f1 and it's an aesthetic and actually also practical nostalgic touch that has its importance. I also use fd optics with the adapter and there is a bomb haha. In conclusion, I am more than satisfied with the choice. A big thank you to Fujifilm for this little masterpiece.
