![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 55-200mm f/4-5.6 G VR Pros: Price (bought for 30 euros on eBay...), right size, noisy but effective VR, almost professional portraits, excellent bokeh, single focus Cons: Very noisy and problematic focus with moving subjects, slows down continuous shots, vignetting Opinion: I use this lens almost as a main lens (except for landscapes), it enjoys excellent versatility. Ok for sport, but the AF could get some headaches with the very fast subjects and then delay the shooting. The engine noises are obvious, but after a while you get used to it. I also use it for portraiture and I have to say that it behaves very well. Maybe not very sharp and suffers from vignetting in the corners increasing the focal length, but in post you can earn a lot. One of the best entry-level lenses, inferior only to the VR II version. sent on May 01, 2021 |
