![]() | Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8mm f/1.8 Fisheye Pro Pros: Lightweight, bright, weatherproof, professional Cons: I can't find any Opinion: I already had, and still have, the 9-18, but I wanted a super wide angle with fixed focus and I did not consider the excellent 7-14 because of weights and dimensions for me excessive. I got to try the Olympus fischeye and I was amazed by its characteristics of strength, lightness and practicality of use. Also, and this is the thing I appreciated the most, is the possibility of using it not as a fischeye, but as a rectilinear superwide angle. In fact, with the EM II and III series machines and obviously OM 1, it is possible to set from the menu a spectacular compensation on three levels with which to have a wide-angle image and not from Fisheye, (which deforms and here makes no sense), but with a huge angle of view. I did some tests and the least invasive corresponds to the shot I get with the 9 mm, while the most aggressive has an angle of view even a little wider than 7 mm. In practice you get to the performance of a super wide angle (like the 7-14) without too many complications and also always having the fisheye, which for me is priceless. In a comparative test with a colleague of mine equipped with the 7-14 we also found a better resistance to making my Fisheye than its zoom. sent on March 27, 2023 |
