sigma_70-300Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro

Pros: -Focal length: The versatility of the 70 to 300mm focal length allows you to capture a wide range of subjects, from portraits to sports scenes. - Price: Great value for money, making it accessible even to photographers on a budget. - Material: Solid construction with a large lens hood that protects the lens and reduces unwanted reflections.

Cons: Cons: - Lacks stabilizer: The absence of an optical stabilizer makes it difficult to get sharp handheld images, especially at longer focal lengths. - Sharpness: Image sharpness drops significantly above 200mm, limiting the usefulness of the lens at the maximum focal length. - Normal to Macro Button: The button to switch between normal and macro modes is harsh and unreliable, giving the impression that it can break easily.

Opinion: The Sigma 70-300mm lens is an excellent option for those who don't want to spend too much but still want a versatile and high-performance lens. Despite some flaws, such as the lack of stabilizer and the sharpness dropping above 200mm, the lens still performs well in many photographic situations, from portraits to sporting events. Personally, it has given me great satisfaction in these situations. It's true that to get the top quality you'd have to invest a lot more in a high-end lens like Canon's L-series. Another downside is the macro mode button, which feels hard and feels flimsy, which could negatively affect the user experience. However, considering the price, it's an acceptable compromise for many amateur photographers.

Pros: Small, lightweight, good compatible optics, long lasting battery, great machine body.

Cons: It has a single bezel, few controls, viewfinder with poor coverage, complicated focus, slow, a lot of noise from 800 ISO.

Opinion: Back then, it was my first Nikon, my father's last gift before he left me for cancer in 2017, now I'm 33 years old. This year I bought a NikonD7500 and despite not being the TOP of the range, it has really better qualities. However, the D3100 I will always carry in my heart. The cameras used previously were all compact from Sony, and I've never had the same wonderful result that this camera can give in daylight or with the help of an external flash mount of all kinds, setting things up manually. For what I used it, initially in an amateur way photographing landscapes, flowers and cats, I found it satisfying despite the age of the camera body. I find that the information of the display, despite not being touchscreen is enough to make good shots. It's very good to learn. I found a lot of difficulty on noise, already with 1600 iso. At the time I didn't have adobe Lightroom to fix and I really struggled to photograph the evening with still light. In general, I prefer it a lot compared to a latest generation Iphone, they have too many automatisms, with her it was a beautiful experience that I will continue to carry in my heart even if I will still change cameras over the years. Thanks Nikon D3100. You also allowed me to immortalize Ambramarie Facchetti before Covid19 broke out.
